So as some of you know, I'm working with a few other guys on Vizzed, making games. I was talking about this with a friend, and I tried to think of someone very famous in the game industry, that any programmer/game creator could aspire to be like, and who else came to mind, but the mastermind behind Nintendo, Mr. Miyamoto.

As I called this man to mind, I had an amazing realization: I seriously do not personally know a single individual over age four, that has never played a Miyamoto game! So I ask you, have you, or anyone that you know (excluding those who were around before Mario games) never played a Miyamoto game? Before you say you haven't, or you know someone who hasn't, check out an exhaustive list of games and franchises he created. He's been called "The father of modern gaming", which seems accurate in a lot of ways. He's not only shaped Nintendo, but modern games as a whole.

Now for a second question: if you do know someone who has never played a Miyamoto game, do you know someone who is a gamer, yet has never played a Miyamoto game?

Mario, Zelda. Those two titles alone are enough for me to base my answer on. Almost every gamer has played a Mario game, but there are many more he can take credit for. Check it out sometime. Mario, Zelda, F-Zero, Kirby, some Metroid games, Pokemon, Killer Instinct, Excitebike, Donkey Kong, and many more. Here's a list of games and series that he made and/or invented, and I doubt that list is exhaustive.

This is a really thoughtful question. The first person that I thought of was my mother but then you added on that part about being a gamer.

No. I don't think I know any gamers that have never played a Miyamoto game. 

Another question might be, how many years will it take before someone can answer yes to this question? If that includes sequels, maybe a century? If we're talking about just these titles, I'd guess 25 years.

zeross121 : Kirby Superstar was good. It's hard to beat Kirby Superstar in multiplayer, the concept behind it (multiplayer) is genius, but single player is good too.

thephantombrain : You pose an interesting question there. I would personally include any games added to a series he created, even if the game was made after he passed, because it would still carry his influence. For example, Super Mario Bros. will still be his brainchild a hundred years from now. So judging by that, I would say that I could easily see it being fifty years, and a century may not be out of the question either.

Nope, i don't know a whole lot of gamers in real life but the ones that i do know are zelda, donkey kong, dragon ball z, mario and pokemon fans. And seeing as how he had a part in the pokemon and zelda games that would exclude them from the list of people that have never played his games. But then again my niece and nephew are gamers but i don't think that they have played anything but nintendo wii games. So they may have never played any of his games. But the people that i talk 2 online have most likely all played his games. So i may know a couple of people that have never played his games. But they are 8 and 6.

It would be really tough to find a person that hasn't played a Miyamoto game, the only people I would know that hasn't played a Miyamoto game is PlayStation only fans, Xbox only fans, or people that don't play any video games and those only people are very old people that are like 70+.
I think to my opinion that every single person on Vizzed has played at least one Miyamoto game, and it will be extremely rare to see a Vizzed user that ain't played a Miyamoto game sometime in their lifetimes.

I have played several of his games before on several different consoles before. I played mario and kirby all the time and I still do,so that definitely makes me miyamoto gamer for sure. To be honest, I just really don.t know many gamers that haven't played a miyamoto game before.

The only ones I think that haven't played a Miyamoto game, or Nintendo game in general, are those "Ew, Pokemon and Mario and anything Nintendo related are for babies and little girls!  Microsoft is for men," type of people.

I play Nintendo games all the time. Nintendo is for bosses. Mario, Legend of Zelda. These franchises are amazing. Who HASN'T PLAYED A MIYAMOTO GAME? I mean, seriously! They're amazing!

I can't think of one...... That would be just weird, the games are the best ones ever made! ( So many of them! ) I can't believe anyone who said that they haven't.

If you haven't then you've missed out on a great bunch of games. It's pretty hard to have not played them really considering they are everywhere. A list of a few games I remember playing are as follow:

A few of the Mario Bros games
Kid Icarus
Donkey Kong (probably my favourites after Mother)
Mother
Legend of Zelda: Links Awakening
Star Fox
and Pikmin

I never got into Mario as much but I loved Mother, Donkey Kong and Star Fox. Pikmin and Kid Icarus are great games too just not ones I play a lot. But I really don't think I'll ever meet a gamer who hasn't played a Miyamoto game at least once.

Actually, except for the Pokémon games, I've never really played a Miyamoto game... ^^' I guess I never really swore by Nintendo when I was younger, I was much more of a Sony kid back then. Zelda: Ocarina of time or Super Mario 64... Never really played those.

If you haven't played any of his games, it would be hard to call yourself a "gamer" in the first place. So, no I don't know any gamers who haven't played his games.

I do know non-gamers in my family and school who haven't ever played any of his games. They're mostly outdoorsy or intensely academic people.

Uh.....no I don't think I have played this game before. I will have to look this up who knows, I would probably like it. Or not like it depends though doesn't it?

Naw, I don't think anyone has ever gone through life without playing a game made by Miyamoto.

I don't think that has happened, or ever will happen. Every one of my classmates, as well as everyone i know, has grown up with miyamoto. Even the classmates who hate ninteno has played at least one of the mans games.
