So...I thought of this poll because of a rough day at school I remembered from a while. I was a very intelligent student, and I got made fun of, no one really liked me, and I barely had any friends. I was a big nerd at the time, and I still am...a proud one. I followed my heart as a nerd, because my legacy could still be alive as one. So... do YOU consider yourself as a nerd?

Well, no. I never though of myself as a nerd. But I don't really call anyone a nerd..... So, not really.

I guess I would be considered one, but I don't think that of myself. Being smart is nice, rarely do I see people get called nerds.

I am a nerd, yet no one actually called me one, I have lots of friends yet there not nerds at all. In fact I might be somewhat of a super nerd!

Not at all. Sure I like to read and do well in school, but by no means do I consider myself a fully fledged nerd, I mean come on, would you consider someone nerdy just because they have common sense and do well in school. I think kids in my school are just stupid and to them, they consider an average student a nerd. So that is just how it works. I am a good student and I like to read, but am I a nerd? No, would I consider myself one? Not at all. So no, I am not a nerd, just a good student. I have never been called or picked on or defined as a nerd. If I wore glasses with tape in the middle, plad shirts and a pen pocket, then maybe. But I do not dress like that. So no I would not define myself as a nerd. Just a good, smart student. And yes there is a difference. Plus kids in my school are morons anyway. So their definition of nerd is off by a lot, they'd consider an average student who does okay in schoolma nerd.

Well depends on what you mean by "nerd". I take it you mean in the sense of intelligence, like the smart kids (gifted kids) that  take AP classes or whatever advanced classes that your school offers, then yes I would say I am a "nerd" but by dress wise I wouldn't describe myself as a "nerd", as in I don't dress like a "nerd". I get above average grades so I do get classified as a "nerd" in the sense of intelligence. Quite frankly you should be proud to be called a nerd, it shows you have above average intelligence and  it's pretty satisfying to me to know I will be making something out of my life, and will get a good supporting job that can support my future family later on then life, compared to the minimum wage drop outs usually the dumber kids that call others nerds.

Yes I am a nerd. I'm that one kid that everyone goes to if they don't know the answer to something. I'm in all advanced classes. I can talk with my friends, but I am extremely shy around girls.

I am most definitely a nerd I love school and like to read and play video games. So if that is not nerdy I don't know what is.

I don't consider myself a nerd at school because I am smart, almost always get good grades, and like to learn, but I'm not one of those people that always gets on the honor roll or talks about school a lot or other stuff that nerds do.

PixelBrick : YES. i obsess over nerdy things, i was almost ALWAYS the best in my class (no lie!) and i wear glasses what more proof do you need?!

Being a nerd isn't just the good grades, but also what you watch or what games you play. I am a nerd in both senses. I love video games, anime, tv shows, etc. I also get extremely good grades to the point where I am 4th in my class of 300.

I kinda sit in the middle I'm neither nerd or cool at my school I'm not sure there is a word for my kind yet perhaps conerd could be one word.

Well, if you mean a nerd as in someone who gets A- to A+ on all subjects at school then I'll probably say yes. But if you mean a nerd as in someone who loves to learn and loves school, then that would be a big NO! lol.

I absolutely consider myself a nerd, and a geek, and I am proud of it! I'm gifted and extremely hardworking in school, I like all of the typical geeky TV shows and pastimes, I read every day on recess in elementary school, and I'm extremely socially awkward and even typically bad at sports with the stereotypical braces/glasses combination.
I've been picked on and bullied a LOT in school; you're not alone. And it can be hard. REALLY hard, which most people don't seem to get. But in the end, being a nerd is the best thing in the world, because you get to be yourself, and be truly enthusiastic, and make a difference in the world, and look forward to a brighter future! I mean, overall, isn't that what school is supposed to be about? Getting good grades to go to college and, ultimately, get a decent job? Being a nerd is actually brilliant.

I do not quite consider myself as a nerd but some of the things I do are pretty nerdy because, lets face it, Vizzed is a nerdy site and since I joined a lot of my life goes away to just being active on this site. Outside Vizzed I can be a very different person. I am not nerdy at all, if the not I am quite the opposite. I am very un organised, I get a lot detentions and I am ok with girls, ok though... (Basically I can talk to them but I have only pulled one of them off and that was a long time ago!)
Some people call me a Halo nerd because that is by far my favorite game series and all people really see me playing on the Xbox 360. I do not often talk about it unlike the whole herd of GTA V fans. I call them GTA nerds and man they get pissed. They are the sort of the people who like to go around looking cool, but GTA V turn them into nerds. 
I guess everyone is a nerd, only they have different amounts of nerdiness and different things trigger it. Even the chavs are nerds as I just mentioned with all of the GTA V stuff. I am sort of nerd I guess, I do not class myself as one since stereotypically a nerd will not get into any trouble at school or actually anywhere, I am not that sort of person! I do not match up with many of the requirements to be a nerd either. Maybe making long posts and putting effort posting could contribute to being nerdy but as I said on the whole I am not.

Always have been and always will be a proud nerd/geek. Yeah I got so much abuse at school for it, and do get the occasional comment years on but it doesn't bother me in the slightest. Myself and my other half, are incredibly nerdy. Our house is a tribute to all things awesome, we both wear nerdy/geeky t-shirts of the things we love.

We proudly ordered some Star Wars cat toys for our kitten from America just purely because it was Yoda as little mice.

Be proud of who you are and never change for anyone.
