This is an easy choice for me. The Sega Genesis! I love the Genesis, I have loved the Genesis since I was a little kid. I collect Genesis games (along with other Sega consoles/games) and have over 300 Genesis games. The second and third best consoles are the Sega Master System and Sega Game Gear. If you can't tell I am a Sega man lol.

Because of the person that I am, I cannot pick any SPECIFIC system of the retro generation to be the best. All of them have equally earned a special place in my heart (more than any modern system ever will), and no matter how many years go by or how quickly people begin to forget... I will never forget the love and the nostalgic feeling of playing something as beautiful as Sega, or even something as wild as Nintendo.

Whatever the system may be, as long as it's old... it's beautiful to me.

For me its they Nintendo 64, which has quite a lot of variety on the games genre side, and the psx. this one doesnt have as much variety, but cmon people, just the final fantasy titles make it so worth it.

I've gotta say the N64 as well. Great games in 3d, Mario and Zelda. In my opinion, it had more to offer compared to the PS1. Plus, Rare was probably at it's best then.

I guess it now finally counts as retro; I freaking LOVE the PlayStation. Ever since I got one it has been my go-to place for good games. I also love the SNES as my second for this. I know not why I prefer the PlayStation, but it's likely Crash Bandicoot 2. (I reviewed it and had a LOT to say)

The Sega Genesis is the best. Sure, its not as "classic" as the NES or SNES, but I think the Genesis is better then any game console, because it got everything right. You have 100s of games in every genre, well designed console, and well designed controller. Don't get me wrong I like Nintendo systems, especially the SNES, but in all fairness, you just can't compete with the Genesis.
