It really depends on right kind of games you are into. Are you into platformers or RPGS? If you answered platformers, you would probably like Mario better. If you chose RPGS, you would like pokemon better. I can't really choose which I like better.

Mario, because there are many more types of  games. It ranges from 2d platformer, to 3d platformer, to RPG, while with Pokemon, your options are more limited. And I enjoy Mario games more also, but Pokemon games do seem to be fun for longer.

Pokémon Yellow was one of the very first video games I played, and since, I have played a game from every generation of Pokémon, and I will continue to do so once Pokémon X and Y come out. I do like the Mario series a lot though, but it just depends on which genre you like more, and RPGs are my favorite.

supercool22 : I actually never got into the pokemon craze. I grew up in the 80’s and 90’s so my vote would be Mario even though I never beat any of the games, I have good memories of playing the games for hours on end. I would have also put Sonic the Hedgehog in this topic. That game franchise is definitely worthy.

Pokemon are definitely better than Mario. I've spent hours getting 99 lives in those world 1-5 games and raging cuz I fall down a hole. The only really good games Mario has had are Mario kart, super sluggers and baseball, and M+L partners in time
