I am more of a milkshake fan and even then, I dislike mix ins. Most toppings seem to ruin it for me; sprinkles especially! They just ruined the texture of ice cream to me.

I used to like hot fudge, but now I only like it in a peanut butter ice cream milkshake so it's like a Reese's milkshake. Butterscotch or caramel works for me too, but only on vanilla ice cream (shake or regular form).

The best topped ice cream would have my top three favorite tossings: caramel, caramel, and more caramel. Yum. I like caramel btw. :p Though I usually go for cookie dough, and I'm not sure how that would taste with caramel.

I love warm caramel sauce-especially if you warm it up and stir in a bit of condensed milk to make it kind of dulce de leche. (I think it's spelled like that, the spell check hates it though).  What else is good is to take a bit of peanut butter (chunky is best) and warm it up just until it's a bit liquid, then drizzle it over the ice cream. It firms back up when it hit the cold ice cream and you have this really nice thin peanut butter shell. Or, you know, hot fudge is always good. ...crud, now I really want ice cream.
