Begins was good in setting the pace but dark knight shifted through the gears, it was great with the whole shifting landscape etc, begins was too basic and linear.
And dark knight rises.
Disapointment.
They arent making more so they thought to hell, we'll just make it massive then round it off.
Vilains, not as interesting.
Plot, stretched and unrealistic.
Ending, horrific.
And the originals, meh.

Perhaps I am biased because of the generation I was born in, but my favorite batman was almost certainly Dark Knight. The Joker was PERFECT. If you had told me that Heath Ledger was truly insane, I would have believed you in a heartbeat. Everything he did was perfectly in character of an insane person, from his "business card" that he threw on the table (a joker playing card with nothing on it) to his good ol' "magic trick." It was clever, action packed, funny, the best representation of what batman should be. The original Batmans were not bad, per se, but Dark Knight is infinitely better than all of them in my opinion.

The Dark Knight and its not even close, Ledger was just spectacular as the Joker. The psychology aspect of the Dark Knight is just astounding how one person can mentally tear apart another and enjoy it. Definitely The Dark Knight. Batman Begins wasn't too bad but a little slow because of the required exposition. The Dark Knight was able to jump straight into the action and get to the meat of its story right away. That made for a better movie.
