Ok since April 16, 2010 I have had this horrible pain in the left side of my stomach.  At first everyone thought it was cancer because of spots showing up on the cat scan and pet scan.  The doctors took bone marrow out of me (nothing showed), they took biopsy of my liver (nothing), and did exploratory surgery which showed nothing.  So they then dismissed the cancer thought and sent me to a stomach doctor.  There they did other biopsies and tests and found nothing.  Everything stalls for a few months then my doctor finally thinks to send me to a bone doctor.

Today I went to the bone doctor and they took X-Rays of my hip and everything was clear.  He felt the pain area and simply said "It's a muscle problem.  You pulled a muscle so I am sending you to physical therapy."  I've been through hell for about 2 years and it turns out to be a simple muscle problem!  I really want to scream and all my family doesn't understand why I am so upset.  I could of gotten this taken care of 2 years ago!!!!  I've wasted 2 years of my life to find it's a simple little muscle problem!  I wasted all the money my mom gave me after her death on this when I could of gotten myself a new car and a home!  I am so angry right now at the whole medical field!

It's disappointing that it took so long and so much money, I agree. But I am super happy that you finally found out what the problem is, and that it's nothing life threatening by any means... Sure you have lost more than you needed to, but I am glad you are okay and can get better now. Better late than never, and I was really worried it was something more serious and irreparable, honestly.

Wow, that sucks, you could file for compensation, seems the doctors wasted your time and money. Reinforces my support for the national health service here, i wouldnt fancy losing all my savings like that.
But hey, youre in the clear, the next years are in your control once more.

RequiemHaunt : I'm glad to know it's nothing life threatening. But I know how it feels to have to deal with something like that. I also agree they could have kept you from going through all those annoying tests. But I am happy to know you're alright. That's the main thing I wanted to make sure, was that you're okay.

SunflowerGaming :   The worst is not the tests, those didn't bother me.  It was the surgery where I almost lost my life twice in recovery.   Once on the first day and then again when I swelled up two weeks later from complications.  This means I went through that for NOTHING!  Yeah I am still fuming about this whole thing!

Fail doctors lol sorry about that but at least its all good now.

That is stupid. Talk about useless doctors. Hey, we are gonna steal some money for a couple years and finally tell you its nothing at all, so we will send you away to waste more money! Sounds great.

Aww, sorry to hear that something disappointing like that happened. I can relate to how frustrating it can be trying to chase something and finding out you didn't need to go through all that. =/

But like others have said, the end result is still important; and what's important here is that it's not cancer and not something so life threatening.

I guess I'm a little late to the chat here, but it looks like everything that needs saying has been said. It's a double-slap to the face to have spent all that money only to find out everyone was looking for the wrong things. It's a stab in the gut when you factor in the risk to your own life as well. But when all is said and done we're just glad to have you with us, Requiem. I'll admit it's easy for me to say when I haven't gone through anything like you have, but it's still true.

Thanks everyone for the kind words.  I've gotten sort of over the anger that I had.  I am going to do another surgery to help me loose weight I hope I don't swell up again.  I don't know when this will take place, my dad has to keep a job for a while before I can start making plans.  Why I need help with loosing the weight is because I was put on bed res for about 2 years and even though I am trying to eat better and do some walking I can't loose as much as I want.  So my doctor thinks it's best I get the band around my stomach to help me loose the extra weight.  I have always been chubby so I'll be glad to get extra help in loosing this flab lol!

I am just glad this thing might come to an end this year and hopefully by the years end I can go back to work! 

RequiemHaunt : Sorry it's taken me a bit to reply to you. But wow, they caused you to almost die and for nothing. They should be sued. I am glad you're okay but that just angers me to no end.

I'm glad you finally found out what it is..I think american health care is stupid..And it pisses me off to req, I hope everything goes well and you make a speedy recovery.

Damn that sucks. All that money wasted... I'm sorry for you. Well hope things get better for you. And its not just money, putting yourself in risk of Losing your life! Well hope things turn out good soon.

You might be able to sue them and argue that you were misdiagnosed or something. They put you through unnecessary hardship and wasted a lot of your time and money. You could probably get something out of a settlement if you want to get some money back. I know it won't be the same since it's settlement money instead of a gift from your mom, but it can't hurt to have either.

BNuge : I don't feel up to it.  I want to get better and get my old job back that's all at the moment.  I am focused on those two things right now.  Going through court would only slow up the process.

Uhm... I don't want to lessen the triumph here now that you know what's wrong, and I hope your doctor was right of course, but doesn't it seem a little odd that a pulled muscle could be giving you this much pain for two years? I don't pretend to be a doctor or to know more than they do, but clearly they haven't been very professional about this whole thing, so what if they're wrong again?
