I've made a bunch of changes to the 'Viz Per Post' feature (you can always refer here for information regarding it).


Viz Per Powerlevel Changes
Newbie = 8 Viz
Normal = 10 Viz
Trusted = 12 Viz
Elite = 15 Viz
RGR Staff = 20 Viz
Local Mods = 25 Viz
Global Mods = 30 Viz
Admins = 35 Viz
(before all of those amounts were about 5 Viz more)


Viz Per Forum, the amount of Viz you earn per a post may differ depending on forum:
x 2 = 'Reviews' sub forum in 'Video Games' forum
x 2 = 'Reviews' sub forum in 'Retro Game Room' forum
x 2 = 'Wish List' sub forum in 'Web Splurge' forum
x 1.5 = 'Blogs' sub forum in 'Your Forum - Post about Yourself'
x 0.75 = 'Video Game Crazyness' forum
x 0.5 = 'Polls and Questions' forum
x 0.25 = 'Crazy House' forum

Viz Per Thread
You earn the same amount of Viz as you would while posting but minus 15. So in other words, if your post is worth 30 Viz, you get deducted 15 Viz for the cost of making a thread so in the end you would have made 15 Viz for making the thread. It is possible to lose Viz for making a thread if the thread post is small or if you have a low powerlevel. Before when you made a thread, you lost 15 Viz and that was a flat rate.


Viz from Replies
For each reply your thread gets, you earn 25% of whatever amount of Viz the replier got from their post (unless it's negative, than you gain none). Before you got 50%, I've decided that 50% is a bit high so I took it down to 25%. You can still earn a lot of Viz from replies though.


Viz Per Post Formula for those who don't understand it:
Powerlevel Viz * Post Size Viz * Forum Viz ( -15 if you're making a thread)

epic-san : Well I think people are earning Viz a little too easily so I wanted to find a way to reduce the amount of Viz people make, kinda destroys the value of it when every other user has 50,000+ Viz lol.

Awesome, I love updates.

Although I won't get as much Viz as I did before, I think it balances out the system a little better.

Thanks for the update as usual. Interesting change and great informative post David. I noticed a lot of people are here for the games- the newbie ranked people. Well I guess you some vizz from rating right? Also the 100 a day is definitely enough for daily gaming sustenance right?

UserMike : Yeah you get Viz for rating the games. 100 Viz a day is enough to play a few games each day.

i've only been Trusted for a couple days now and i'm already missing my Viz increase per post
i feel like getting just 2 more Viz than a member or even a newbie takes away the prowess of our rank
i guess i'll just wait out the 4 months to move up to vizzed elite

This makes me more likely to post longer threads that's for sure. I'm curious as to how much change I will see, although I love that you don't get much Viz for Crazy House anymore.

I think it all seems fair. I don't really post for the Viz anyway. I like to post just to get my opinion out there or get some feedback.

I think this was a good idea, and it makes the system more balanced too. I'll miss the extra Viz from posts, but my new threads almost always have 100+ words, so the new 'make Viz for making threads' part will help.

I noticed this when I got 25 instead of the normal 30 from posting, and only lost 3 for making a report thread, I like how it varies from place to place.

So this is why I get less than I usually did before. Thanks for clearing that up David!

Meh, I saved up and bought the laptop accessory months ago, so I don't worry too much about accruing Viz... I do think this is a good idea to try and keep things under control though... maybe it will cut down on the spam posts from the newbies trying to get enough Viz to play games all day, and thus encourages them to actually post and become real members of the community.

I've had the laptop accessory for a year now, and I can count how many times I've used it on one hand. I like posting.

But it seems like in places like my posts only get me 3 Viz. Does the 15 Viz for Elites count only if my post is 100+ words? Or am I doing something wrong?

Zeldisaster : Can you show me a post that only earned you 3 Viz?

Zeldisaster : if you post a normal post (10-99 words) in the crazy house then you'll only get 3 (doesn't round up as far as I know). That might be why. Other than that I can't think of a situation where that would happen unless you only posted like 5 or 6 words.
