Are there any power-ups that just did almost nothing for you?

I found the Breegull Bash in Banjo-Tooie to be nearly useless (although I use it often because the animation looks hilarious )

One of the most useless power ups (in my opinion anyways) is in Super Mario Bros. 3, when Mario turns into an egyptian statue thingy, Yeah sure it may help make Mario Invicible from enemies but it just looks dumb and makes you ask, "What were they thinking!?"

In Super Mario World I think that Yoshi is a stupid Power-up. You don't really gain anything from him, Except an extra hit, but if you're like me you'll chase him and accidentally fall off a ledge.

i didn't like the flying yoshi powerup really annoying.i just seems a bit pointless to me.especially when the height of the fly is bad and it looks stupid

I think the Mr. Saturn item in SSBB. Pathetic!!!

The smoke ball in SSBB. I just throw them off the ledge whenever i see one.

Nintendog from SSBB. That thing does nothing but irritate.

The Poison Mushroom is an item in SSBM and SSBB. It is similar in shape to the Super Mushroom but is slightly darker and sports a more menacing face. Instead of making the character larger, the poison mushroom shrinks any character that touches it. While shrunk, characters deal much less damage, have smaller hit-boxes, become five-eighths their normal weight, and have higher pitched voice and sound effects. The poison mushroom's effect lasts about 10 seconds.

The running shoes in sonic they make you go too fast and make the game unplayable.

hey i like mr saturn he makes a noise when you hit someone with him. i would say the turtle shell in new super mario bros ds. you bounce off everything and most the time you die.

The Coin in Fire Emblem: Path of Radiance was worth 1 piece of gold and had no other abilities. The weakest item in the game was at least 250 pieces of gold. Statue Frag in Fire Emblem was also pretty dumb. It increases your character's build (which accomplishes nothing).

BNuge : If you used the statue frag on Boyd it DID accomplish something, because it increases the power of his special attack (albeit indirectly...) because the power of Colossus is determined by the character's build. It also can make rescues easier.

I agree that Mr. Saturn in SSBB is pretty lame, as is the coin in Path of Radiance.

I find the Slingshot in Little Red Hood pretty useless. Sure it kills enemies...but the enemies immediately respawn (when I say immediate i mean it) and it is only good for like 5 attacks...

Useless Power-Up: The spell AMUT
In Final Fantasy, you had to
constantly be looking around for new weapons and magic tricks for your
little fat guys, and a lot of them weren't very good. You could get
spells that made them levitate so monsters could hit them in the
luxurious comfort of 10 inches off the ground, and even buy a club that
was blue instead of brown. There was one spell, though, that even made
the fish scaler on your swiss army knife look useful.

The damn thing was called AMUT, short for Anti-Mute. It keeps mean
wizards from casting MUTE on you which is the spiritual equivalent of
"SHUT UP." If that happens, your wizard can't talk to cast his spell
and he's stuck hitting creatures with his cute little Bonk Branch.

Contra's R Powerup, it does NOTHING when you shoot it. I never seen anything happen that is...

In Touhou UFO, if you collect 3 green UFO pieces, you have the chance of getting 1 or 2 bomb fragments. But why would you do this if you could collect 3 red UFO pieces and get the chance of getting 1 or 2 life fragments, which yield 2 bombs for every life?

Shining Force 2 most worthless power up in the game would be the squeaker sandals, they do not do anything but make the most annoying sounds while your walking around, and in battle enemies favor killing whoever has them on sometimes.  But seriously, no stat boosts at all, only an annoying sound that makes others want to kill them that much faster.  Can't really sell it either, it is only worth 3 gold to sell!

LunaRoseAngel : The Poison Mushroom is a real item in Super Mario Brothers: The Lost Levels. A japanese release that basically was dubbed english and released in America. You can find it if you buy a Super Nintendo game called Super Mario All-Stars (I have it too). In the Lost Levels, if you touched the poison mushroom, you died immediately. But to me, that's a trap, not a useless power-up.

The most useless power-up for me was the Fireball powerup in any Kirby game. You'd rocket forward, but you'd always be in more danger after using it than you were in before. There was no control.

The PPEC D-Felon in the Galerian games.  It's fun to twirl people in the air but it's not as good as Red where you can burst masses of enemies into flames!!!  D-Felon takes up too much time and only attacks one enemy.  Sure nalcon only attacks one enemy but it's fast and you can run after using it.

D-Felon becomes majorly useless in Galerians:Ash when you get Bustanor an ability that allows you to shoot multiple homing energy missiles at your enemies.  D-Felon also can't be used well with such skills as Melantropin where you create a shield around you.

The only plus D-Felon does is make you laugh seeing your enemies twirl around in the sky then being slammed into the ground~  It does have the slight effect of stunning the enemy so works ok for bosses, but it's the least effective in damage and usefulness.  Now if it could do what it's described as doing (picking up objects) then it would probably be the most useful drug in the game.

(Yes the games are all based on drugs.  One time I stored a vial of each drug and injected them all into Rion it was fun to watch him do this to himself.  At the end of Galerians:Ash you have 6 injectable PPECs you use with the b-ject and 5 pills.)  Oh and you can die on an overdose of one of the drugs (Appolinar) which makes you short and shorting makes you die!
