I prefer to text more then email. Texting is faster and more mobile then a laptop. Only time i use email is if i have a lot to say to someone, then generally that's easier and faster then texting. Also it's nice to use email through messenger if people are far away from you. If you have a webcam then you can actually talk to them and see them, verses just texting them without seeing there face. But texting is more of my thing over emailing.

I do not text much. I mainly use texting to with my family. The positive side of this is that it is more immediate. On the down side the keys on my cell phone are tiny. With emailing it is easier to type, but I do not keep up with it as I do with texting. All in all, I think texting is better because of the convenience.

I use my phone to keep in touch with the friends I'm moving away from and my sister when she's at work. The problem with e-mail is not everybody has their laptop/computer or any other kind of device that can connect to the Internet with them or an e-mail account, just like not everybody has a cell phone. And also its way faster to get a text than an e-mail.
