The virus has somehow spread throughout the world in just a few months. There's a good chance that it has affected many of the users of this site by now. Even though the fatality rate is very low for the age range of the users of this site, the amount of damage that the paranoia surrounding it is causing the economy will soon affect everyone.

So how is it affecting you?

I cant go out now. I am trying if possible not to catch it so my doc said I can stay at home for two months in isolation away from people. although I live with my mother I continue to pray that my family doesnt get it if that happens I may catch it unknownly....even now my mum has started to listen to me and told me to stay at home and not go anywhere. I'm fine with this I just plan on streaming and to continue to work on my sugar flower business. so when this all blows over I can start to sell them once I have the required materials for it. the reason I dont want to catch it is its most likely I would die. the virus attacks the elderly with health problems and low immunity thats the same for young disabled people with health issues of thier own. I have every problem the virus wants like weak immune system so therefore I must stay away from it.

The paranoia is unbearable over here. It's making me so mad I want to burn something down.

People is basically emptying supermarket stocks, like if a nuclear apocalypse was upon us. I don't care for most products, but people is also piling up fish and fresh meat, which don't last for as long as cans or other products, and what will happen to the excess that won't be able to be consumed?

I'm also affected because my classes have been canceled, just two weeks before they ended. I'm extremely mad at this, because that course has been on a massive drop since Christmas. I know schools are being closed, but that's because they have hundreds of people within their confines whereas we're just 16 people. We can be easily controlled and monitored, but out of fear/paranoia/whatever cancellation fell upon us.

I won't be staying home for the meantime, I hate being imprisoned out of a s***ty reason like paranoia. I will try to make more plans with my friends and my lover while exploring new things to do. I won't let this stop me now that I finally got myself moving after several years of shelter.

That's basically it for me on the personal level by now. I may have to check myself soon to see if I have it, better now that everything else in my life has been canceled out, but we'll see about that. I'm not skeptical about it, just that I went through a tough episode with my disease and I want to sort out that first thanks to the medication I got yesterday.

So originally I figured just like any epidemic it wouldn't affect me in the slightest but my university is closing all classes starting next Monday and is replacing them with online ones for an indefinite amount of time.

Not sure how that's going to affect me in the long run but I procrastinate a lot so I can't imagine it going well lmao

I'm in Manitoba, Canada. I think we've only had 1 confirmed case so far, but 152 in total in Canada

Ontario, Canada, has closed all of their schools for about the next 3 weeks ish.

NHL has stopped the rest of their season, as has the NBA. various concerts/whatnot have been cancelled/postponed.

and on a lighter note, somehow over here "prepare thy self" was heard as "buy out all the toilet paper". I'm not kidding. Winnipeg has sold out, and surrounding towns are eating up the hype too. I do not understand humans sometimes.

Been planning trips since the Coronavirus started. Got some for Los Angeles, a few to northeast states and lil Florida trip later on. Hooray for the virus best thing for traveling folks.

In all seriousness I made up the plans but my gym is closing down for a while and that puts a stinker in things. No cases here in my town yet and we’re good on toilet paper and hand sanitizers in Walmart

I live in Atlantic Canada up at the end of North America, so far there's no confirmed virus up here!!

I am upset though that NHL & NBA is cancelled and I'm not sure if WWE & AEW wrestling has decided what they are gonna do about this situation yet, but I suppose a wrestling can summon me or whatever if they hears anything about it!!

And me & my Mom are disappointed that we are gonna have to postpone our trip to Florida!!

I'm in the US. My school has closed on-campus classes, so we're going to have our classes be online-only for the foreseeable future. I think me and my family will be ok, but it's worrying how there seems to be no real idea when the illness will end. I've read from the news that the US has not been able to test many citizens, so we do not know the full extent of virus cases here.

Lastly... Wash your hands!

It hasn't affected me negatively here in NYC yet.

Work has been a lot easier because I spend 12 hours a week working out of a college and with colleges closed to students, the buildings are empty and work is much easier and way more laid back.

I also took advantage of the stock market. I've been buying stocks that are normally $8 and $80 for $3 and $30.

The only downside is the boredom because there's no sports or talk shows and all the new movies were delayed.

I can't buy toilet paper, all this fear mongering is getting on my nerves. I'm in the US, even if we get infected, the chances of dying are if you are either 80 years old, or have a terrible immune system to begin with. Doesn't stop the news from scaring people, so now I have a toilet paper shortage from every store, so that's cool.

How Has the Corona Virus Affected You

as for me personally, I am really not worried about it
It has frozen the sports world,

I have read from twitter
There will be
No NFL
No NBA
No NHL
No MLB
No NCAA
No MLS

Maybe no Nascar or Golf, I am so I don't care for those Sports anyway

I mean the only sports that I watch, well I don't call it a sport it is pro wrestling, WWE, RAW, Smackdown, NXT, and Ring of Honor (ROH) or TNA (total no stop action) or TNA Impact & AEW So I am fine,

I got my health, a few cokes, and some food in the refrigerator and the light and the heat, & tv and computer still work

so I am good

Outside of the entertainment world, and sports...

The coronavirus has yet to really have an impact on my day to day life.

You might think that since I work in the medical field, that things are very different, but the reality is people are just more afraid, and we just ask one or two more questions than we usually ask.

Based on our patient volume and the fact most people don't even display symptoms right away (if at all, some people appear perfectly healthy), there's a high probability that someone here has had the coronavirus, and everyone here has been exposed to it.

I know that sounds scary, but the best we can do is the best we can do.

I'm sure things will get worse before they get better. But at this point in time, I'm one of the lucky ones. I still have a job, I am not quarantined, and life is fairly normal, outside of the fact all my avenues for entertainment are washed up.

It's all over my county now. There's no mandated quarantine yet but I won't be surprised if that does happen soon. Regardless I'm pretty introverted so I essentially quarantine myself, I went out today to mess around with my friends and that should satisfy my social activity quota for a few weeks lmao. No reason to go out 'til I need to get food or other essentials, especially since nobody is allowed on my college campus until April (unless you live there, which I don't).

I'm not frightened of catching it myself as I have an incredibly powerful immune system and have survived far worse (than what I know about the virus, anyway), but I am still keeping healthy because I don't want to pass it to everyone I live with, especially my grandmother.

The Coronavirus hasn't yet affected me personally here in New Orleans, but things that goes around town has been dropping in with people.

Like for an example, I went over to Bourbon St a couple of nights ago, and on a usual night, the street is pack with people, but as of late, the area has been basically a ghost town, although I have seen a couple of people walking around, but compared to a normal night, it's extremely quiet.

Sure, I know my hometown currently (as of this post) has 26 positive cases of the Coronavirus, and taking the population of my hometown, that would be only like 0.00675 of the population which might not sound to bad, but it's one of those things that you can't really tell on who has it, so those numbers can be even higher, especially that, for like the first few days of the virus, you feel no symptoms.

Anyways, going with my opinion with the whole Coronavirus, I personally think the whole media is blowing it out of proportion, sure, I know the whole virus is severe and I understand that they want to take precautionary measures, but still, I think closing public events is kinda of an overkill.

Currently just watching people freak out.

I was paying attention to this when it hit China and watched the numbers increase the way they did over there and figured if I spread outside of China that it was going to spread everywhere eventually. My wife and I prepared already with some extra food and some plans to do some home renos in our basement and otherwise just hunker down.

I also took this upcoming week off for a vacation (completely unintentional that the timing worked the way it did) and then I expect my work to tell us all to stay home after that.

My family is also all young enough that I'm not too worried about any of us getting sick. We are still isolating as much as we can to try and be as safe as possible but even if we do get sick I feel pretty comfortable that we will be okay.

Still, the media's response to this has been excessive which has resulted in people being over the top about it. After all the cancellations from Wednesday and into Thursday apparently there was a run on stores in the city and many of them got cleared out. After talking to some people on Friday before going on vacation I found out that many people don't keep more than a few days worth of food in their homes at a time and shop sometimes 2 or 3 times a week. I could probably survive for a month (or more) with what I have on hand without worrying much. Sure it would get boring but we would survive easily.

However, with no hard quarantine in the city I live in yet we're going to be making weekly trips to the store to try and grab fresh fruits and veggies where possible as well as milk or other more perishable things that might be harder to get under a hard quarantine.

Honestly, I think the boredom will be the worst thing going forward. Without any sports/playoffs coming up and probably a lot of other shows not happening I expect to be watching old shows I've never seen, movies with the kids that they've never seen and I'm hoping youtube/podcasts keep being produced so there are things to consume.

So in summary - not really being affected. I don't go out all that often anyway and am hopeful that people will relax and get through this without too many panic moments. We will have to wait and see though.
Currently just watching people freak out.

I was paying attention to this when it hit China and watched the numbers increase the way they did over there and figured if I spread outside of China that it was going to spread everywhere eventually. Negatively in a couple of ways.

I was originally planning a summer trip to Japan to study at a language school there but it's now uncertain if I'll be able to go or not. There's the risk of travel bans being imposed and even if I do manage to get there the school could close down to prevent spread. If I'm particularly unlucky I might catch it myself and have to go into quarantine.

While Japan seems to be handling the crisis alright so far, being right next to two of the hardest hit countries seems like it's nothing but waiting for things to get worse eventually. It's really bumming me out after all the planning I've put into it. I've yet to make a final decision on whether to cancel as there's still a chance thing could calm down but it's looking like I might have no choice in the matter.

I'm not particularly worried about it for my own sake, I'm a young and pretty fit guy meaning I'd probably get mild symptoms. It's mainly watching people around me, particularly my mom getting way too riled up about it. It has lead to some strain in our relationship. Having her talk about it 24/7 like it's some sort of doomsday event and commenting on the way I choose to handle it gets tiring pretty quickly.
