The 2014 Newsletter has begun rolling out today and should take up to 2 weeks to deliver to everyone. The biggest highlight of this newsletter is the fact that it celebrates the 10 year anniversary of Vizzed Board. Hopefully the site's traffic increases during this time as some old users come back to give us a visit.

If you have any questions or feedback or if you didn't receive a copy of the newsletter and wanted to see what was in it, go here:

For the past few months now we've been experiencing issues with the Minecraft server where it'd be really slow, laggy and sometimes kick users out. I've done some research and switched from 32-bit to 64-bit and also made it so that the minecraft server can take advantage of more RAM. From what I can see so far, this has fixed the problem.

Remember that you need to use Minecraft version 1.7.10 to get on the server and the server address is Vizzed.co . If you don't know how to use an older version of minecraft, you can find that information here:
https://www.vizzed.com/boards/thread.php?id=79699

If you're interested in joining the Vizzed Minecraft Server for the first time, be sure to read important information about it here:

And lastly, if you want to get an idea of what our world looks like, check out the interactive map here:

This month's RGR Competitions are about half way over so there's still plenty of time to compete. Most of these competitions have had very little competition so if you have a few hours to spare and are in need of some cash, you might as well compete in whichever one of these you think you'd have the best chance at placing. Keep in mind that you don't have to take first place in these competitions to earn cash, there are cash prizes for the other places as well.

Playstation Came Out in Japan on December 3rd, 1994
The Sony Playstation will turn 20 years old on December 3rd and as a way to celebrate, November will be Playstation month. Every Game of the Day and Game of the Week will be of a Playstation game from now until December 3rd and on top of that, the Playstation item (which allows you to play Playstation games on Vizzed) will be 50% off which means you can now get it for 25,000 Viz for a limited time! Be sure to act fast though because it's very unlikely that it'll ever be discounted again, in fact, it may eventually go up in price due to all of the games added lately. You can get it here:
https://www.vizzed.com/boards/store.php?action=shops&types=siteitem

Vizzed Has A Mostly Complete Playstation Library
Over the past few months I've invested well over 100 hours into finding, preparing, formatting and adding every Playstation game to the site and I'm finally finished. This includes all USA games and also all European and Japanese games (the ones that weren't released in the USA). On top of that, a lot of hacks, homebrew and demo discs were added. If you see any games that are missing, let us know right away and we'll get the games added ASAP. The Playstation library on Vizzed includes 2,411 games and will continue to increase as tRIUNE and myself find and add missing games. You can view the library here:

October Minecraft Competition: Create the Best House & Win Viz!
https://www.vizzed.com/boards/thread.php?id=80373

Earn up to 50,000 Viz in the above competition.

I'm in the process of completing the Playstation collection in the Retro Game Room. Every day I plan to add 100-200 Playstation games (in alphabetical order) to the site. Before I started there were just over 500 playable Playstation games on the site. By the time I finish, there will be 2000+ playable Playstation games on the site. The goal is to have almost every Playstation game ever made on the site which includes all (unique) US and foreign games and I also plan to add every available demo disc, hack, prototype, homebrew game, independent net yaroze game and more. I've invested many hours over the past few months into this project which includes obtaining, preparing, formatting and now adding the games. As of this announcement, we have everything added from A to E and halfway done with F.

Playstation games are only playable for users who own the 'Playstation' item which can be purchased from the Item Shop for 50,000 Viz here:
https://www.vizzed.com/boards/store.php?action=shops&types=siteitem

If you want the Playstation item but don't have enough Viz for it, here are ways to earn it:
-Help out Vizzed = Earn 10,000+ Viz!
-Contribute to Vizzed
-Donate Games
-Donate Money
-Do Things for Vizzed Users
-Click Here for a Complete List
(click any of the above links for more information)

The list of Playstation games were previously only available on an exclusive page on vizzed. The games can now be viewed and accessed in the Retro Game Room just like any other system by anyone. Here's a link to all of the currently available Playstation games:
https://www.vizzed.com/playonlinegames/index.php?system=psx

If you have any questions or feedback, please post in this thread:
https://www.vizzed.com/boards/thread.php?id=80543

I've added 7500+ Windows games and nearly 1000 Macintosh games to the Video Game Room.

Windows Games

Mac Games
https://www.vizzed.com/videogames/index.php?system=mac

Keep in mind that the VGR is a place for non-playable games. It's a place to get information and a place to submit reviews, guides, videos and threads. Many of the games added will have price guides available within the next few days (some already do) so be sure to add any computer games that you own to your Vizzed Game Collection.

For those of you who are competing in the Gameplay Recorder competition, you can now record computer games and submit those to the competition which could increase your chances of winning the $225.

On Tuesday, September 30th, I'll be hosting a live streaming event on my Twitch Channel where we'll all be listening to the songs submitted to this month's SNES Video Game Music Competition. The stream will start at 5 PM and end at around 8 PM (central time). This is a great opportunity to hang out with vizzed members, listen to some gaming music and earn some Viz while doing it; it should be fun.

Everyone is welcome to join the stream and you can earn 100 Viz for each song that you rate. After each song that is played, I'll ask everyone what they thought of it and all you have to do is rate on a scale of 1-3. If you can only participate during a small portion of the stream, that is fine, stick around and rate as many songs that you have time for. If you stick around long enough to rate all 127 songs, you'll get a bonus of 2,300 Viz which would put your total earnings at 15,000 Viz.

To qualify, all you need to do is be a member of Vizzed, be a member of Twitch, and follow my Twitch Channel which can be found here:
http://www.twitch.tv/davideo7

You'll also need you reply to the following thread letting me know what your Twitch username is so that I know who to send the Viz to once the event is over:
https://www.vizzed.com/boards/thread.php?id=80277

The 15 minute video limit that was placed on the Vizzed YouTube account 6 months ago has been removed. This means that you can now upload videos of almost any size to the YouTube account. All videos that were uploaded in the past 6 months that were larger than 15 minutes were automatically deactivated by Google but now that we no longer have a restriction, I was able to reactivate those videos.

You can find the Vizzed Gameplay Videos account here:
https://www.youtube.com/user/vizzed
Be sure to help us out by Subscribing

Next month I'll be hosting an RGR competition with a cash prize for those who are willing to record large videos and upload them to the Vizzed YouTube account. If you do plan to participate in that, be sure to wait until October 1st to upload your large videos since only videos uploaded after October 1st will count for that competition.

The 15 minute restriction was placed on the account 6 months ago when a Japanese company filed a copyright claim on one of the commercials on the Vizzed YouTube account. Since then, I removed all of the commercials from the main Vizzed YouTube account (that account is now dedicated to just gameplay videos) and moved them to a new YouTube account titled Vizzed Video Game Commercials
.

I've also made a few small updates to the video uploader page. You can now insert keywords to the video that you're uploading and it'll automatically insert useful keywords by default which means that if you forget to add additional keywords, it'll still receive keywords. If the video is of a rom hack, that is mentioned in the title and related keywords will be added. A few other small updates have been made to the page as well.

If you have any questions or feedback about these updates, please post in this thread:
https://www.vizzed.com/boards/thread.php?id=80209

This is a reminder to participate in this month's RGR competitions, there's still half a month left.

The starting bids on these are a lot lower than previous auctions. Also, these will be the last accounts that I auction off for a while.

The Video Game Streamers page on Vizzed has been updated:
https://www.vizzed.com/videogames/streamers.php

It previously only supported Twitch.tv but it now also supported Hitbox.tv. The CP and Viz payout for streaming has been updated and is now based on your Vizzed Partnership. You can now earn 0.05, 0.1, or 0.15 CP (rounded) and 10, 20 or 30 Viz for every minute you stream.

Another big update to the page is that it'll now remove you from the page if you go more than 30 days without streaming a game in the Retro Game Room. Also, in the Retro Game Room, it'll only list you as active streamer if you're playing a game in the RGR. Eventually I might make it only show RGR streamers by default (but there would be a setting to allow you to view all streamers).

I plan to drive more traffic to this page which will increase the amount of viewers the vizzed streamers get. The idea is that if you help out vizzed with your stream, vizzed will help out your stream. In the future I'll also offer incentives for users to visit that page (all someone has to do is view that page and they'll count as a viewer on your stream).

If you have any questions about these updates or if you want to get yourself added to the stream page, go here:
https://www.vizzed.com/boards/thread.php?id=69017
