See, I have no problem with the staff quota. If anything, I think it's too low. 
The amount of work that David puts into this site is incredible, and he's the reason you have games to play, so don't whine about David unless you have a legitimate reason. ( Not that I am one to talk, but still, a point is a point ) 
And tRUINE? Really? How can you possible say anything about him, other than he doesn't post that much, and the green with his name looks a little weird? XD 

Come on People. When I was staff Member back in 2012, there wasn't all this CP stuff to get the 200 Quota so easily. Quota was so easy to make, especially for a Review Writer. 

Staff- "a group of persons, as employees, charged with carrying out the work of an establishment or executing some undertaking." 
Hmmm... sounds like if you are Staff Member you are going to have some requirements by that definition. 

Complaining about quota...isn't that about the equivalent of complaining to your boss about having to punch in/out? They wouldn't just trust that you showed up for forty hours a week without checking and just pay you based on your word, so why should Vizzed staff be any different? We're hired to do our jobs, not for a fancy title and to have special privileges. Plus quota is easy to hit (though in busier months I've missed it myself), so it's no big deal.

Agreed, the quota is perfectly reasonable.

David: You and tRIUNE have been incredibly patient with me when I couldn't fulfill my quota. You two have both been, as you said, completely understanding about it (which should be obvious, seeing that I'm still part of the staff). Thanks for that.

I'll definitely stick up for the site if needed. If anybody complains about or misunderstands the reasoning behind the Staff's monthly quota, think it would be best to just link them to this thread? Also, it might be a good idea to sticky this thread.

Okay... Why would you complain about a quota??? That honestly makes no sense to me. Life doesn't just hand stuff to you. You have to earn it and even when you earn it you have to work hard to keep it. An for someone not to like you or Truine for doing your job? I wasn't able to hit quota and he was more than understanding and I really appreciated that. If they can't handle it then maybe staff isn't made for them and it's good that they stepped down.

David, you and tRIUNE are extremely patient and also very nice and great helps, so I wouldn't know why somebody would complain. Besides, if you have a tough job or school is difficult I wouldn't mind if somebody could not always fill in with the quota. But if somebody is just too lazy or doesn't want to lose his/her position then it's just stupid since there are a lot of good people out there. I myself also see some users who would be good members, it's just that those guys usually have to wait since there are already so many staff members.

I always see the staff hitting the quota, and if they don't they're still very active. And you became a staff member with the promise to keep up with the quota.

Little did I know Staff actually has to work for their posistion... There goes my plans to ever apply for a staff posistion again!

But seriously I don't get how this is even a thing, if you want to be staff then naturally you'll have to work for the position and the quota is a way to keep track off if you're doing what you're supposed to. It's not like all the staff members are forced to work as staff against their will, they themselves signed up for it knowing that there is a quota and I can think of A LOT of members including myself who really wants the opportunity to obtain some sort of staff position. Point is, if someone is complaining about the quota you shouldn't have signed up for a staff posistion in the first place as they knew full well what they were getting into. If they don't want to have some kind of quota they need to fulfill then they can contribute to the site as a regular member instead.

I really don't think that there should be a fuss about this especially if you like your role and enjoy doing it. There is no need to complain especially with lenient rules like this. Without a working person from staff, the website can tend to slow down or regress a little bit just by one person not doing their work. I do agree with some of the people that have posted on here on earning your title and role. There are always other people who can fill in the empty spaces if you'd ask me. It's a bit stupid to sign up for a role but not take your commitment and position seriously like what Zlinqx said.

Considering how much CP you get from each action, this is as you said lenient for the staff. It seems to be working well to. It is nice to see vizzed expand more each day and typically it is nice to see any new users join in effect.

I've been an admin and global mod here for many years and there are plenty of months that have gone by where people missed the quota for a variety of reasons. Things come up that cause you to miss the quota. Sometimes it's just laziness. The quota is not strict but without it I know even less stuff would get done. With the quota in place it puts an obvious expectation in plain sight for people to achieve for.

I can't believe someone had the gall to complain about this.

Nowhere in the manual does it say you are allowed to do nothing and expect to get by. There can be exceptions if what you do isn't captured by the CP system (there are a lot of unwritten things for moderators, that if they were quantifiable would boost several people's CP totals. You and I know this better than anyone).

But if you have a specific RGR job and you aren't doing it, you don't deserve to be staff.

I am just here to stand up for David, tRIUNE, and any member here with a positive attitude toward vizzed.  I have seen staff (not sure which position) bash the site b4 and more than once.  It has been awhile since I have seen it but when it happened it truly baffled me.  I don't get why a regular user would even do so.  Just don't come here if you don't like it, same goes for staff, it is voluntary.  Also let me say there is a difference between constructively critisizing something to try and change it for the better and straight bashing or uselessly complaining w/o even trying to come up with a fix.  As for me I love this site, almost everyone here (including staff), and I appreciate all the work David and tRIUNE do here.  I'm sure I don't know anywhere near the half of what they do but just the stuff I do know of seems to be a lot of work and the whole point of staff is to help with that work.  Unless my English is off and staff names are getting carved into a walking stick or something (now that I think about it that would be kinda cool too).

legacyme3 : yeah. I never officially had a CP requirement as admin because I was responsible for all the forum staff. It's not possible to quantify picking new staff members or doing reviews on staff members activity each month. These are things that needed to be done that we get no credit for. I think a lot of people don't realize that being staff on a forum isn't just about having "status".
