Well, the battle for Red has taken an unexpected twist. Pac will need a 7 pointer if his rival places 2nd to tie in points, which would lead to confusion as to who would get the Jersey. If unable to get a 7 pointer, Pac needs his rival in 4th position to tie in points. Looks like Pac won't have any chance unless he manages to get that 7 pointer, because his rival being 4th or behind would be a rare sight.

I'd like to use this chance to ask: why don't we allow ties? Whatever the tie-breaker is for any situation, one user is surely at a disadvantage. It's unfair you're pushed back in the daily chart when you're tied with another user, and it will be unfair to have just one Red jersey holder if a tie was to happen. I can see that it may be a bit hard to code results so two users who share a position get the same points or get to wear a jersey, but if at all possible it's a change that we'd like to see, specially if the competition is this close.

EX Palen : I feel like it should give the jersey to whoever hit the number first.

So if you post 7000 words exactly, and then I come along and tie you with exactly 7000 words, you would get the jersey as I failed to pass you in the rankings.

Same thing with the overall rankings. Whoever held the monthly record going into the last day will win the jersey should another user tie with them in total points.

EX Palen : That's how high the stakes are? Oh, snap. Well, I'm continuing to thank God like crazy that the RGR games are working then. I'll need every advantage I can get. If no 8120 wins the tie, at least I can say I tied him and made him work really hard to win that jersey.

A tie would be very exciting but I'm doing everything I can today to prevent that. Hopefully I'll be staying home all day. It looks like I will because my mom is working until the evening and so is my dad. And my sister will do all the work to babysit my brother because she's grounded XD

What a cool battle to be a part of. I refuse to waste this opportunity.

Furret : That's one of the ways you can see it as and is the current way of assigning positions, but I feel like we could at least consider a change.

To me, the example we should follow is the Ski Jumping World Cup. Only the overall title, which would be our Rainbow Banner, has a tie-breaker, probably because only one can win the entire thing. For everything else, be it regular events or minor championships (our daily jerseys and overall jerseys, respectively), there's no tie-breaker, meaning two or more people can win at a regular event or share the trophy of a minor championship.

I'm the first one to admit it can be complicated in terms of coding, but it looks the fairest thing to do. Only one overall winner, maybe applicable to the white banner as well, but in all other instances a tie means sharing the position.

EX Palen : I'm a little on the fence about it but I'm agreeing with you. It would be much more doable for only one user to have the jersey coded on their username. But even if that happens, David could still announce that we both won.

If I don't win the red jersey and I end up tying, that's OK because I already dominated a lot in the other 2 jerseys I won.

Ended up competing today anyway. Surprised that there's a lot more people posting and earning CP than yesterday, because you don't get to wear todays jerseys tomorrow.

Furret: It's easy to gain motivation to compete when it's the last day of the competition. And everyone watching wants the last day to be more lively, like today certainly is! I have 40 minutes left to keep having fun and then it's over. Wow...

By the way, I made 5 reviews in one day today. I wonder if that's some kind of a record. Maybe someone has
posted 5 reviews in one day but I doubt several others have made that many in a day!

Furret : Yes, I do! I worked really hard for it for the past week, or maybe even more than that. And now it's so close. I still don't know if I will tie or beat no 8120 yet! :O

Pac made it! He managed the 7 pointer in Red when his rival didn't manage to place second, thus disabling the tie and making Pac winner of the Red Jersey! Finally a non-staff earning that one, impossible is nothing!

Even when not placing in the very last days I managed to hold that 10th overall. Fourth top 10 finish for me, second in a row after Spring and first time I get this position. I managed to get past 500 total points as well, so all in all I achieved quite a few milestones, even if they aren't anything major. This competition will always be full of surprises.

Let's hope the next one isn't extremely dead in Fall, because hopes aren't very high right now. Would be another good chance for a non-staff to reign supreme, so an unexpected competitor may pop up at any given time. And please, let's have at least someone placing in White even if it's just temporarily, that's by far the saddest bit of news of this edition.

EX Palen: BY ONE POINT TOO! :O :O

Yesterday was the craziest and best thing I've ever done on vizzed (besides being a staff member before, of course). And my strategy was cool too. I spent over half the day creating
5 game reviews (which is the Vizzed Elite limit by the way) to gain a huge advantage in red. Then I went on a post spree to surprise some people by competing in the blue jersey again. In the last 15 minutes of the day, I made a bunch of threads in order to motivate myself and others to stay active after the month was over. I competed until the very last minute yesterday.

But I shouldn't be bragging about me. Find out why later in the day when I post my "acceptance speech"!

First, if you want, you can look at these posts for a summary of my month with what I went through:

And this one:

This one:

And finally, this one:

https://www.vizzed.com/boards/thread.php?id=99427&ppp=20&page=9#1345723

Let me start out by saying that I have a confession to make. I didn’t do all that on my own. I had plenty of help. Now before you freak out and send me a picture of a DQ blizzard saying I should be DQ’d for cheating, hear me out. It wasn’t any person that gave me the help I needed.

It was God.

For those of you that don’t know, I’ve been able to call myself a Jesus follower for a while now. That came into play well this month when, unexpectedly, I started out this TdV with the lead on day one. I thanked God for that excitement and for me finally starting the TdV out with a lead, after competing since July 2013.

Yes, this TdV marks the 4-year anniversary of my participation in the TdV. Is that a coincidence? Well, I don’t believe in coincidences. I believe that things like that happen because God allowed everything to work out perfectly! Another example I have from my life is that I keep seeing the same number everywhere as a sign that things are going to be OK.

My custom title to the right of my post is Philippians 4:13, which has been my life verse for a long time. It says, “I can do all this through him who gives me strength.” I wouldn’t have been able to compete so hard while still being very responsible in real life without God’s help.

Many times, I was overcome with doubt, wondering if this TdV is what God wanted me to be doing with quite a bit of my free time. Throughout my crazy jersey-grabbing in the first week, I got reassurance about it multiple times through circumstance. For example, I was able to keep taking breaks but still hold my positions in the yellow and blue jerseys, and of course the rainbow banner. I don’t know that I would have been able to do that in any other TdV.

Also, I got burned out more times than I can count. Whenever I prayed to God for strength, He came through way more than I expected. Especially on the last day, wow. Making 5 game reviews in one day is a thought I originally would have laughed at. But praying for His strength took barely any time to get me really hyped and motivated. I wasn’t the slightest bit burned out the entire day, which motivated me to participate in the yellow and blue again!

When I had RGR plugin problems and saw that I was falling farther behind, I prayed that God’s will be done. If no 8120 wins, good. If I win, that sounds better to me, but what about Him? I knew that either way, His plan was for me to give my all.

This TdV was also largely for you guys. One big intention I had during my blue and yellow jerseys run was to increase site activity. And I wanted to make history for the red jersey so you guys would have hope that it possibly isn’t as rigged as you thought.

If this post doesn’t make you believe in God, I’m not mad about that. People can’t save people for Christ, only Christ Himself can. I felt led to share that since all of it is exactly what happened. Faith carried me through the whole month and I wouldn’t have it any other way, even if no 8120 ended up winning instead of me.

Now, keeping in mind that, again, I didn’t do all this alone, it’s time to brag about the accomplishments God allowed me to do last month:
-make over 400 posts in one month, which hasn’t happened in ages
-earn over 100 points in the yellow jersey
-become the first non-staff member to win a red jersey
-win the red jersey by one point
-make 5 game reviews in one day, and 16 in one month
-earn 3,827.3 CP

gamerforlifeforever : Congrats on winning the green jersey! You worked so hard this month to deserve it, and I’m
glad I get to share the victory with someone else instead of dominating the entire event. Thank you for congratulating me too

no 8120 : Congrats on earning your well-deserved, very close 2nd place in the red jersey! Despite the stress I had from time to time, competing with you was a blast. Thank you for pushing me so hard in the 2nd half of this month! You deserved the red jersey as much as me, if not more. I hope you win the red jersey eventually so you can be recognized for the unbelievable amount of contribution you have to the site.

Now this is something you guys might be wondering: will I ever compete in the TdV again?

Yes. I won’t compete that often, but I plan on still going for some jerseys from time to time. Not overall jerseys again though. I won’t have time for that as I’m going to be a senior in high school this year.

Special shoutout to users who supported me, even just wishing me good luck, and users I had fun competing with! (I might miss some, so if you weren’t summoned, I’m sorry. Also, I'll notify users whose summons failed if that happens)

Pac has admitted not doing this just on his own and that goes against the rules, so I'm afraid we have to DQ him. The fact he hid it for the whole month maybe suggests a ban as well.

(Very) Bad jokes aside, I'm not really into religion, but I do understand what's like when there's something you cannot explain that is motivating you. I was like that back in my active days, the slightest of things kept me going stronger than the month before, and I'm sure many people would make a fool of me for having such reasons for motivation.

Whatever was it that gave you the strength and motivation to compete, may it be blessed. You were the only one actually trying to accomplish something, without you this competition would have been boring and maybe it's no exaggeration that nobody would have won a jersey with the genuine intention of doing so, their real intention being just wanting to be more active.

You've really earned this. Battling fair and square is not something everyone can brag about, even I pulled out a dirty trick back before I got my first top 10 which later prompted a new rule to be written down. Beware, though, skittles can be very addictive!
