So who was the last person who gave you a compliment about, for example, your eyes, your clothing, your hobbies...? And how did you respond to it?

To me, it would be my mom who complimented me about my drawing style yesterday. I posted some art on Facebook and even a fairly famous comic writer from Belgium gave me his reaction. But i felt pretty happy after that.

And you?

One good friend I spoke to who I will not mention. He told me a lot of nice things about. How I am till wonderful and helpful to most people on vizzed and said why in details which....I sadly have forgotten. It made me to smile a lot seeing that. ^^

I hope this reply counts for something...

Not sure really

But I compliment people every day and complimenting is more important than receiving compliments

I think the last person that complimented me was a person that was helping me understand lojban grammar on an IRC channel three weeks ago. They said I was "very astute." At least, I think that's a compliment...

I don't really get very many compliments I guess, but I never think about it. If people are polite, that's good enough.

I honestly can't remember.

People don't give me compliments that often I suppose. I mean, I'm friends with people but they don't always say things like "wow ur amazing" :p. Then again I don't compliment people everyday either so...

I don't dwell on it.

Oh wait my best friend irl always compliments me on my drawing skills whenever I show them something. Which is fairly often so yea.

The last person who gave me a compliment was when an elderly lady told me I was very studious and hardworking while I was studying during a public train ride. She told me that she asked me specifically for directions because I was focused into my studying with my prep book.
It shows that first impressions do matter to people!

My English professor. On multiple occasions, she has called me a "natural writer" and basically told the entire class.

It's kind of embarrassing, honestly. I like to know if I am good at something, but I don't like everyone getting an impression of how I am before they actually know me.

Since the announcement, legit, everyone I know has been all over me, asking me to help them with their essays. It's f***ing annoying.

Not too long ago I got another by Markeith21 he said * I think you deserve a hug since I feel like you're a nice and cool user and congrats on you getting your blue Jersey.* this was on one thread just a nice thing to say. It makes me really happy for some reason when people say good things. ^^

The last compliment I got was from my significant other. I think the words used were along the lines of "sweet" and "caring" or something like that. Oh, and she told me I was a "good boy," like I'm some kind of dog or some thing lol.

Maguc :
You're funny as heck most of the time. I doubt you were being serious, but now you can't say it hasn't happened

I actually received two compliments in a short period of time yesterday at work, so I'll go over both.

The first compliment I received was from a sales associate in the shoe department right as I was starting my shift at work (I work in the shoe department at Kohl's...I very recently applied and got the job) and while I was writing down the availability of a pair of shoes, the sales associate says "Wow, your handwriting is incredibly small and neat....it looks like a font you would see on Microsoft word." Writing this out doesn't really do it much justice since it is just text that is devoid of tone and other verbal cues, but the tone in his voice clearly suggested that he was impressed with my handwriting. I'm often told that my handwriting looks like it comes right off of a typewriter because of its size and appearance, but I thanked him nonetheless for the compliment because it was such a little thing I didn't expect anyone to notice, but he did, and that's what made it such a special moment.

The second compliment I received was also at work, it was about 20 minutes or so before closing time and I was cleaning up the shoe department area since the majority of customers had either left the store or left to go to the registers to make their final purchases for the night. As I was clearing up loose shoebox tissue from the floor and rearranging the display shoes on the front racks, one of my managers happens to pass by my area on her way to the customer service area and she says "Great job today, keep up the great work!" It was nice to have someone acknowledge my dedication to keeping the shoe department clean, and from the manager no less!

Altogether, I was very pleased to hear these compliments from my manager and co-worker. As someone that frequently gives praise to those who do an outstanding job on something, big or small, I can confidently say that providing positive reinforcement is a great way to make someone feel good about the work they do and also motivate them to continue improving and doing outstanding work.

I got some people complimenting me on the tdv thread, for something I'm not really going for....regardless I took it in and thank them. Because it would be really rude if I didn't just because of something they are seeing me do, but its not something I am actually going for.
