The thought of having music being "spooky" is kind of difficult since that's not exactly a genre that's very popular in videogames.. There are only a handful of "spooky" songs, but I might see about working on my submissions. It'll be pretty difficult though..

I'm not even going to come close to winning, but at least this is fun trying to figure out what to scare you guys with.

This song REALLY puts you on edge as to what comes next. You see him, he looks intimidating, and this song is playing.

This song makes you feel lonely and helpless. It's very fitting.

I love this theme, though it does seem difficult. Nonetheless, here goes my first contest participation.

So I guess people will be told to rate based on how scary the music is this time rather than how enjoyable/good it is?

Well, in any case...

1. This N64 one creeped me out as a kid, almost enough to get me to stop playing the game...



2. Another from a popular N64 game. I had to rush through this level as fast as I could to stay away from this music.



3. You wouldn't expect this game or series to have scary music...



4. This one brings me back to early childhood scary music.



5. Is this music in the movies? I don't remember it, but it sounds like it would be. Probably the level in the game made it creepier honestly.



6. I never got this far in the game, but apparently it's creepy.



7. Prediction for most submitted song.



8. One that's maybe somewhat pleasant while also eerie.




I reeeeaally wish there was Game Boy music on here.

Also, darn, the Sonic drowning music is only 12 seconds.

And finally, what exactly does "Company" mean for a game? Some had different developers but were published by the same company. For example, the Pokemon series is generally managed by Game Freak / Creatures Inc. / The Pokemon Company, which are their own thing, but published by Nintendo. Or the Beetlejuice games for NES and Game Boy which were developed by Rare and published by LJN. Does the "Company" restriction refer to the development company that made the game or the publishing company? Not that this is a particularly big deal.

gamerforlifeforever : I think I'll let the stream viewers decide on what should be classified as scary.

Edward Dylon : I'll have RE1-3 uploaded within the next few days. gamerforlifeforever or m0ssb3rg935 can upload RE4, RE Remake and Doom 64 if you ask them.

Linkums : I'm not sure yet on how users will rate the songs. I think what I might do is have them decide on if a song is scary or not and if the majority agree that a song isn't scary, I wouldn't count it. Users would then rate based on how good the song is. The reason why I don't really want users to rate based on how scary it is is because the song's rating then will be inaccurate in the Video Game Music Room. I want the rating of songs in the VGMR to be based on how good a song is.

Company would mean developer and/or publisher. If you did Pokemon, that'd be 1 count for both Pokemon Company and Nintendo.

I'm more than willing to do what I can to help. Are we permitted to go ahead and add soundtracks that we were going to request for the competition? Of course, I'll be prioritizing everyone else's requests over mine.

Davideo7 : Unfortunately, the only way I can think of is to just buy the Minecraft Soundtrack, and I don't think Volume Alpha and Beta even have all the music (I'm sure they don't have the newer tracks from more recent updates)... If I did know, I'd have them on my phone right now.

Edward Dylon : I uploaded the OST for Silent Hill 1. I can't find Order of Ecclasia's soundtrack anywhere though, so M0ss will have to do that if they can find it.

vizzy900 : I just finished uploading all the music files for Mario Sports Mix I could find. I'm unsure of the playlist's completeness, but if what you're looking for isn't there, PM me the track you want uploaded. You can trust me to not steal the submission from you.
