Sports are quite popular. Certain ones, like Basketball and Soccer, are very popular worldwide. Others.. not so much (American Football). Perhaps sometime back in the past, children used to be into sports a whole lot more. Ever since the explosion of popularity video games have received in the 1990s and 2000s,  the amount of sport enthusiasts in schools have most definitely decreased. When it comes to sports, I was never too fond of them; I only had some slight interest in Dodgeball. I used to suck at playing sports during my freshman year, but after I became a sophomore, they were a pushover. I have a complicated relationship with them.

Do you love a particular sport? Do you dislike sports in general? Thanks for helping out.

No way. I love sports. Sports have been a pretty big part of my life. I've almost always been playing a sport since Kindergarten, and I love it. Not only do I enjoy playing most sports, but I really enjoy watching some sports as well. I'm a big fan of watching AM Football. My parents would never let me play it considering how dangerous the sport is, and I probably wouldn't want to play anyways, since my thin build makes it kind of impossible to be any good at it. I enjoy watching basketball, tennis, sometimes NASCAR, and sometimes soccer (but only WC for the most part). Yeah, so I like sports a lot. It takes up a decent amount of my time and attention, and it's a nice way to pass time as well.

I am a huge sports fan!  I played football (American) in high school and baseball all throughout my childhood.  I love watching all kinds of sports, but my favorite sport is American college football, Go NOLES!  I recently starting watching some cricket on television and enjoyed it, and saw Australian rules football for the first time.  I am open to anything.

Nah sports are just something I never enjoyed watching outside of baseball but I cannot stand the obsessive sports fans who talk about nothing but sports and their day is affected if their team loses. Also when they talk about sports, they talk as if they have a stake in the matter.

Usually it's done the other way around, where you ask if we like stuff and we say 'Nope." It'll be interesting to see if more answers come about from posting the question this way.

I'm shocked more people aren't coming in to talk about their dislike of sports. Take a cruise of the Sports Page and see how little content is in there. What's around seems like a majority of wrestling conversation. I'm no wrestling fan but I'd be intrigued to see if people who really like it consider it a 'sport' the same way baseball and football fans consider their game a sport.

I love sports. I think it is impressive to watch the best few hundred people in the world compete at something I like to play. The athleticism and human emotion involved in sports is something that people get to enjoy while watching on a tv.

A game can have the same high drama as a movie, the same action as a video game, and you don't get to control the ending. I think some games are built to be beaten and losing builds character more often than winning does.

Sports are fun because you are literally watching to best people out of a population of 7 billion do something. Watching the Olympic marathon is a fitness person's version of watching the greatest actors of all time ply their trade on a screen. Or reading a wonderful book the first time through where you don't know the answers.

Do I dislike sports? Not at all. Some are unwatchable, notably cricket, and I won't take the time to watch them but there is nothing so pure as the competitive human spirit. Sports brings that to real life.

I would´ve been neutral on sports as a whole if it weren´t for how extremely rabid the fans can be. Some people take football WAY too seriously, and they need to stop making it such a giant deal. It´s people like these that make me dislike sports a bit.

I don't really care much for sports to be honest. I'd say my indifference from them stems from how overly rowdy people/fans can get at times during a game (I don't understand how people can cover themselves in face paint, yell and holler like banshees and jump out of their chairs during a sporting event)...I also don't care too much for the brutish aspects of sports either (which is why I dislike sports like football and wrestling....bull fighting is up there as well....it's just too savage for me...). I can understand WHY so many people find it appealing, but I personally would rather play video games, read a good book or even lift weights than watch burly men grope each other for a ball, or roll around and wrestle on a sweaty mat/arena. This is all in regards to spectating/watching sports by the way, playing sports is slightly more interesting, however, my dislike of contact sports remains unchanged. Martial arts and bodybuilding on the other hand are a different story because they are actual abilities that can be of practical use in the real world. To me, kicking a ball around a team of 11 other players without using your hands or breaking some ridiculous rule isn't really useful/applicable to anything else. The only sports that I enjoy/partake in are swimming and cross country.

On a side note, I'm baffled at how easily other guys can get offended and angry at someone else for not liking sports and partaking in hour long conversations about statistics, players, names, etc. It's almost as if enjoying sports is the deciding factor that constitutes whether or not you are a man....I just find that notion to be incredibly silly...it's okay for you to like sports, but you shouldn't get mad at someone else for not sharing the same interests as you. Altogether these are my lousy reasons for why I don't like sports. Who knows, perhaps the environment I grew up in and the personal experiences I've had with sports have shaped my current outlook on them.

TouchMaster97 : Sports are fun when no one takes them seriously. Root for your team, don't go after the people who like their team, and after it's done, it's done and that's that.

The fans are the ones who drag the sports through the mud and make them look bad. I think the Olympics are popular because there's not nearly the same level of hate or negativity compared to English soccer or American football or baseball. There are always stories about some fans beating up some other fans because they had a different hat or shirt on.

It's terrible what fans do to sports. They ruin the experience.

I like sport and there is very few sports that I really don't like watching (mainly cricket,Golf and certain athletic events). Basketball, soccer, american football etc I will watch if there is a game on TV. I guess it is to do with the tactical side of it I find more appealing in those sports which is why I watch them more.

For me, watching and playing are two completely different things. I find watching most sports extremely boring but I've always loved playing sports like soccer, basketball, kickball and just about anything else that involves using your legs mostly. because I've never had much upper body strength. I've still never been very good at those because I've never done any cardio training. One sport I've always wanted to try is paintball, but I've seen pictures of the bruises....

As far as watching goes, I watch The Super Bowl every year, but that's about it.

There are some sports I like and most sports I don't really like sadly. I did try and get into them but it seems I would find them bored ones such as Basketball. But then I was able to watch and come to love a film called Space Jam? I find it rather weird. Anyways so yeah not everyone is going to like sports for one reason or the other. While there are most people who do for their own reasons. As long as one understands the others reasons that's all that matters really.

I don't really care about sports at all. I mean, at times they can be fun to watch but... when it comes to playing them I'm out. I was never that good physically and idek about basic positions in sports so I'd suck at playing them.
