I have had my moments of fame back in the late 1990s when my name showed up in the prep sports section of the newspaper. I was a kicker for my high school football team so on occasion I would get to see my name show up for "kicking field goals of 25, 35, and 41 yards," or whatever.

I once kicked an overtime field goal that won the game at Homecoming and got my picture in the paper and everything. It was cool.

I was also quoted when a newspaper did an article about the YMCA I worked at participating in the Guiness Book of World Records: Largest swim lesson. I had a few nice comments they included.

Actually, yes. My name was in a newspaper of 2004 before. In the netherlands, only in the region i lived in. But it wasn't for something big: It was just me and my schoolmates who were done at our school or something. I was 4 back then. My mom cut out the part where i was in and pasted it in a book, together with a lot of other memories.

Twice. I recall my name being in the newspaper twice. First time it happened because my house got caught on fire, so the entire story for that got written and published on newspaper. My entire family was on the newspaper that time. Second time was just an interview on how I was doing after the fire, and it was just for me, since I was the only little girl in the house.

We had to do this one test a couple years back on how to act safe on the road and what each road sign means and whatnot, and I was one of two students in our region who got 100%.

Me and some of the other students were all on TV and I was asked a couple questions by a reporter and had like a short interview in the regional newspaper.

I was young though so I didn't fully understand everything that was going on (heck I even guessed two answers on the test lol).

I've never been in the newspaper.... Around here, the only people who get put in the newspaper are no longer among the living or they're going to prison for drug dealing, meth cooking or murder. So uh.... yeah... That's something I'm trying to avoid. Given what field of work I want to go into though, it's bound to happen eventually. A lot of people used to say that there's no need to reinvent the wheel, but if the wheel didn't need reinventing, they'd still be stone, wouldn't they?

Yes for all three (newspaper articles, online news and quotes), and plenty of times for various achievements and competitions, but I didn't always have awesome or great experiences with the media because some of them really will say whatever they want to say, whether or not something is completely true or whether or not we like what they say. x_X Some papers are better about not butchering names and adding in incorrect info and quotes, but I can't seem to shake off the feeling that the quality of many newspapers and similar sources have been in decline ever since many of their articles were released/became available online. This is by no means a complaint... I just sometimes wonder what it is that they would have said if I had been bolder at the time and asked them if they would consider allowing me to write some of those articles myself. XD

Now that I actually write for something like a newspaper, I'm in there a lot. What I like is that other bigger newspapers and sites take our articles and put themselves on their sites so I've had my name listed in big places such as Fox and Sports Illustrated these past few weeks.

Yes, I once made my local newspaper because it was severe weather season. The paper was doing a feature on us weather spotters. 

Another time I made an online article. It was an Autism article that I wrote and it got featured. The online article also shared a little bit of my background.

Then, later a reporter for our local newspaper called me and my boss and interviewed us both and published our story on the paper. And, our testimonies along with my picture was featured on college's website. It felt good! Some of my friends saw it and told me which I had no idea was there so that was very cool to find out about.
