Nostalgia is blissful. It's nice to think of a simpler time, remembering those happy days. I can safely say I remember my elementary school days. It was from 2003 to 2008. I remember going on summer trips at my old daycare, such as Ontario place and Wild Water Kingdom. I remember playing around with my Neopets toys, not having a care in the whole world, compared to the cynical, bitter me of today. Granted, nothing was perfect, but it was an enjoyable time.

What makes you nostalgic? Would you ever want it back? Thanks for seeing this thread through.

Fyredove : Nostalgia is quite lovely. Are you particularly nostalgic for anything? Thanks for telling me, friend.

I went to school in the late 80s and early 90s. My growing up circled around "the time when you had be to home before the streetlights came on," and things like that. I remember being able to bike away from my house and go play in the woods a mile away or so with some friends and we were in fifth or sixth grade. I also remember riding my bike with those same friends a few miles to go buy hockey cards from a drug store, and load up on candy, and ride back home.

We were maybe 12 years old? And it was acceptable for the most part.

We also watched our local college play baseball at one of the parks against other small schools. No one charged admission and you could just walk right in and sit in the bleachers. We practiced catcalling and heckling.

I think looking back at the sports, like when the Pistons and the Bulls and the Lakers and the Pacers were the teams. That was fun.

Also, I lived in Boston after I got married in the mid-2000s. We went to a bar called The Place which was the alumni bar for Michigan football. We'd watch games there with all the folks who went to the school or were fans of the team and we'd do the chants and all the things that happen during games. If you've never been to a college football game, they're fan interactive. You're constantly jangling keys, jumping up and down, chanting this or that, and you're always busy.

They played an hour worth of songs after games and we kept drinking and dancing. That series of songs can come on the radio and I get nostalgic about my favorite times from when I was newly married.

Transformers Cybertron. Whenever I see it again, I'm taken back to being 9 years old getting up at 5AM to see the latest episode and futilely trying to collect all the toys. Ahhh, memories. Actually, there are still a few of them I need to cross off my list.Oh, and I should really get around to getting the complete series on DVD one of these days.

I say the best thing was running home after school not to even miss an episode of sailor moon or the new episode of dragonball z. I sure heck was tired but it made me happy to see I always got him in time like 2 mins before it start with the intro music. I think for me that was the best extremely fun times. This was like in the 90's. Also the amount of activities I did back at school I was really great at playing badminton since I would win. It was so fun back then....everything changes and it would just make you to have good fond memories to treasure them. Also another thing is how the way I come across people and to help them despite not looking after myself. I always be there to help anyone.

A few things make me nostalgic. Playing some old video games like the older Pokémon games and some of the older sports video games on the PS2 make me nostalgic. I also feel nostalgic when I think about memorable sports games or series or matches from years past. The Spurs-Suns, Spurs-Mavericks, Lakers-Celtics rivalries of the 2000's were pretty great in my opinion. A lot of different sports, when I think back on them, make me feel nostalgic, but since I'm not very old, that's like from the mid 2000's lol.

Walking past my old school is one of the things that make me the most nostalgic since I don't do so too often. Makes me think about when I was still in elementary/middle school and how things felt simpler back then. Though I think nostalgia often makes things seem better than they actually were because we have a tendency to mainly remember the enjoyable parts of when we were younger or just in general remembering things in a positive light. Regardless, it is nice.

Some video games make me a bit nostalgic, in particular Pokemon Gold/Silver/Crystal since I played a ton of it while I was young.  Same goes with some genesis games like Sonic the Hedgehog, Aladdin and Pinocchio and many other games makes me nostalgic for different times. Watching the first/second season of Pokemon, Yugioh, Kaleido Star and Cardcaptor Sakura (my first animes) or just in general watching some old shows/movies that I used to own on VHS. Playing Runescape can also have that effect on me or rather certain parts of it since I remember when I first played it so many years ago and when me and a few others all played it in early middle school competing against each other. These are all just some triggers from the top of my head though.

Seeing the new Bionicle toys on store shelves. They have recently rebooted the toyline so seeing them again made me remember first building Tahu (one of the main characters) as a kid.

I've had my nostalgic moments, I'd be thinking about something from the past, or I'd hear a song I remember from back then, or even play a game. I will never forget about 5 years ago, I couldn't sleep one night, and I was just sitting at my PC, browsing the internet, and watching some Youtube videos of old PC games that I use to play a lot of when I was a kid. I was came across a video of Lego Island, and it hit me, I remember everything from getting the game, installing it, playing it with friends, and even before I bought it. I would go over to my friend's house and watch him play it, and it was like I was there again, it almost felt real. It was crazy.

Then I came across some of the music, next thing I know it was 4:45 AM, and I am still awake, so I lay down to try and sleep for a few hours and I just laid there remembering all these times being younger, and it was such good times then, I had nothing much to worry about, I got to hang with friends whenever. I miss those days, but we get older, and we become adults.

I'm only 34 years old so I don't know if I can qualify for nostalgia. Nostalgia, for me, is when things are long gone and you can't go back and see them or do them again. It has to be something that simply doesn't exist in our current culture or society.

My parents took forever to get air conditioning for the house. It was in the late 1990s until they finally cracked and got the air conditioning unit put in there. Before then, it was always leaving the windows open and having big fans in the windows, sucking air through the house and trapping the cool breeze for the next summer day.

When I hear those fans droning away, I always get really sleepy. I sleep best to the sound of fans because it reminds me of my childhood, some 30 years ago. And the sound of the fan paired up with rain is the ultimate in nostalgia.

It's nostalgic because, even with our air conditioning, we don't have fans in the house any more. I could go out and get one but everyone in the house would complain that it was too hot or uncomfortable or unsafe to have the windows open. So it's extremely unlike, however not impossible, to recreate that experience.

Songs, especially from old cartoons and old anime that I used to watch as a kid like the Pokemon season 1 song and the original Dragon Ball theme. There's also songs from movies like Upside Down from the Curious George movie that just seriously make me nostalgic of my past.

I would say remember when people actually talked to each other, instead of having their faces in a screen.

Remembering when if you wanted to get a hold of someone, you had to hope they either had a beeper or were at home and you had to use a artifact known as a pay phone.

If I wanted to play a video game with friends, you either went to their house or to an arcade.

When music was not complete crap,(I lived through the 80's and I know it had some awful songs, but a lot of them were good.)

When TV was not full of reality tv crap.

When kids did not shoot up schools and professionals like teachers and cops actually acted like they gave a damn about their jobs.

Now this will make me seem like a freaking fossil. When Woolworth's was around and they had almost anything you needed.

The Photoplay 2000 cabinet makes me quite nostalgic. I enjoyed the games, the design, the music that plays during the menus, and I also enjoyed getting the high score. Unfortunately, I haven't played it in years, and the Tabletop cabinet we bought got defective audio after a while, so we don't have it anymore. I really want to see Photoplay 2000 emulated, as well as the later versions of Photoplay, because I really enjoyed my time playing on them.

A few things make me nostalgic...

When I see old websites from the early 2000s, the ones with the animated gifs and weird popups. You don't see them much anymore but that sort of style takes me back to a time when I was young and new to all things technological.

The old Vizzed Chat Room, too, along with all it's regulars. It was nice talking to people live rather than through the forum posts. I went in just yesterday but it doesn't seem as lively anymore.

I'll add in one more: Mario Kart Wii's Online. I know it wasn't that long ago when it went down, and it wasn't even that long ago when the game came out.. But there's something about it that just makes me feel all fuzzy inside, even despite it's errors and annoyances.
