Hi there guys, I was wondering what Pokémon hack games maybe good. I'm looking for peoples opinions and what not.

I'm planning to try out some hacks.

I don't fancy trying hacks that don't have official Pokémon I noticed a few they've made up there own Pokémon for the game although it is creative but its bad enough trying to remember Pokémon types and names as it is never mind figuring out these new ones too.

Ive tried Pokémon glacier back when the contest was on, shame I never really enter the contest though. It was quite enjoyable when I'm stuck in the house alone which is now became all the time so it would be nice to have some new ones to explore too and take me away from real-life lol

Anyway leave your recommendations and such in the thread and ill give it a shot

If I had to make a suggestion, I would recommend Yet Another Fire Red Hack by doesntknowhowtoplay, or doesnt for short. It's basically FireRed in terms of story and general game play, but it adds Pokémon, moves, and even abilities from Diamond/Pearl/Platinum and Black/White. The level curve is a bit higher, but still fair, and my favorite part - every Pokémon is viable. If you're interested, you can find the hack on Pokécommunity and the Nuzlocke Forums. Hope this helps!

You definitely have to play Pokémon insurgence, its a custom made region with an interesting story. Also try out Pokémon planet, its an online Pokémon mmo that is VERY addicting, not medically though

If you'd be up for trying something that isn't directly a hack but a fan made game I'd recommend Pokemon Reborn (not to be confused with the Emerald hack of the same name).

It's made in RPG maker and looks pretty authentic for the most part. It has most of the currently available Pokemon, a darker storyline than your average Pokemon game and is much longer than most other hacks/fan made games while still having a region that was made from the ground up. It's also constantly being updated with new areas and adding remaining Pokemon.

Though one thing I should mention is that it's pretty hard as well. If you've played a lot of Pokemon games to the point where you're starting to find them easy like me then you'll probably enjoy it. If not you may want to hold off on it unless you like the challenge.

It is a Pokemon Red Hack and adds some Pokemon that weren't introduced until later so that might turn you away if you were looking for gen 3 hacks. If it doesn't though it's a pretty solid hack. It has an entirely new region, new storyline, Pokemon from gen 1-4 and to a large extent feels like a new game. Furthermore unlike a lot of other hacks it has actually been completed.

A big thanks to everyone has contributed to my thread. I apologize I haven't been on in a bit a lot of problems with real life situations and haven't had time to escape to vizzed

But anyway I appreciate all you have added and I now have a long list to try.

I can't believe no one's recommended Pokémon Glazed. It is of the same caliber as Light Platinum, which I believe are the 2 best hacks on the site, if not ever made (personal opinion). It has 2 (or maybe 3 with the third being very small) regions to explore, each with their own set of gyms and elite 4. Not to mention it has all the Pokémon from at least up to Gen 5 added, if not also 6. I'm not 100% on this, but I'm pretty sure it even has the physical / special split for attacks, adding another level of improvement onto a Gen 3 based hack. I really can't commend the game enough, and I really hope you give it a shot.

It may say something along the lines of "(beta 7 final)" in the game title, but don't worry, the game is complete in every way as far as I could tell. All the legends and full story are obtainable, so I wouldn't even consider it a beta at all.

I highly recommend you should give Pokemon Rebirth and Pokemon Ultra Violet a go. They're both great Pokemon hacks, and the best I've played. Rebirth is a hack of Emerald, and in that hack you can find wild Kanto Pokemon in Hoenn, and almost all of the legendaries. As for Ultra Violet, it's a hack of Firered, and you can get all of the 386 Pokemon in it. Yup, this means that you don't have to trade to get fully evolved Pokemon like Machamp, Gengar Alakazam... they will evolve at a specific level.

In that hack you will find shinies much more often. I already have 3 shinies on my main team, and you will only find a shiny Pokemon if you step on a specific spot in a route. There's a fully detailed guide about Ultra Violet, so I suggest you check it out. I even downloaded it, so if I have any questions about the hack I simply check the guide.

I highly suggest Pokemon Rebirth, like green said. It's truly a great hack. Another I suggest is Pokemon Light Platinum, which is basically a completely different Pokemon game, except it's a bit buggy. Very detailed, nice story, etc. A fair share of glitches, one or two are game breaking.

i just found out this hack and it is soooooooooooooo good, nameless fire red project. it is a remake of pokemon fire red but with a lot of new stuff including :

i just found out this hack and it is soooooooooooooo good, nameless fire red project. it is a remake of pokemon fire red but with a lot of new stuff including :
