The ps3 was surprisingly the most disappointing system I have ever played. Most of the games exclusives it had I liked, but it was not enough to make me want to keep it since I also had a xbox 360.

The most disappointing system I ever played was the Wii U. I'm sure many will agree with me on this. It was extremely lackluster, and could hardly be called Next Gen in it's day. I'd take the old PSP over a Wii U (or even Wii for that matter) any day of the week.

Mynamescox44 : Actually most people I know love the wii u, its just the developers and publishers that don't.

That is a good question, but i'd probably take the original GBA.

Its not for the games, but for the screen, it has one of the absolute worst screens any big hardware developer has ever made, and maybe even worse than the original gameboy's screen.

Thank god for the GBA SP, too bad the backlit version of the SP never came out over here.

Final Weapon : Like I said most people I know like the wii U, because of the great first party games, if you want third party support, then don't get one. And yeah, it can't be called next gen because it's barely even better than the PS3, But the first party games for it are just so much fun I don't really care .

This is a difficult question for me to answer given all the possible choices I could pick. The most disappointing game console for me would have to be the N64 because it was a huge step backwards for me from using PS1 disks to huge game cartridges. Although the N64 contained so many beloved classics it was a disappointment since I was expecting a lot more after playing a PS1. Oh and don't get me started on the N64 controller.

THE XBOX360!!!!

jlove92 : Please don't be mad at me for this lol.

But seriously the XBOX 360 is the worst console in history and the following is a true story of horrible-ness.

I once actually bought an XBOX 360 one day along with a copy of GTA V. It was late in the afternoon when I got it and I got home at night, yet early the next day I returned it because it was simply SOOO BAD.I did want to play it, I even bought all the extra hard drives and stuff, but IT SUCKED.

jlove92 : LOL, no you're the crazy one. Had mine plugged in for 4 hours max and it was the worst decision of my life, just lucky that they let me get a full refund on all of the stuff that I bought.

Final Weapon : The Wii U is my favorite console ever. While the Wii was my favorite before that, the Wii U not only let me play my favorite Wii games, but introduced games I've enjoyed a lot, like Splatoon. Although it might be worth waiting for the NX, the Wii U has soooo many great games, not just Nintendo-exclusive releases, but indie games like Runbow, Shovel Knight, and Art of Balance. Some other great games are featured in the "Friends of Nintendo" bundle. Even if you never plan on picking up a Wii U, it's a terrific value for the 3DS games. But that aside, the "Nintendo Selects" line came out recently. There are a number of Wii U games that are only $19.99 plus tax. I have tried both DKC: Tropical Freeze and Super Mario 3D World, and they are fantastic! Even though I don't own the games, some of the most fun I've had playing a game has been with those two. If you even have the slighest desire to play games with your family, the WIi U would likely be a better choice.

As for the most disappointing console, I'd say the Gamecube. It had fewer games that I liked, and my experience was hindered because I chose poorly what games I wanted. I could have had much more fun with it. But even with that aside, the PS2 proved to be a more well-rounded system, with more capabilities. The Gamecube seemed to be a mere child's toy compared to it. Don't get me wrong, the Gamecube had amazing games. Wind Waker, Smash Bros. Melee, among others. But there were a lot of poor or bad games, as well. Considering I played the Gamecube mostly solo, and the games I played generally weren't very competent (with perhaps the exception of Mario Party 4 and the Zelda Collector's Edition disc), weren't very competent. I had a much better time playing the N64, with games such as Mario Party 2 and 3, Pokemon Stadium 1 and 2, and Donkey Kong 64. I played often with friends, but after I got the Gamecube, that happened less and less. I ruined a good portion of my own childhood.

Most disappointing game system I played. Well for me it would be the Nintendo Virtual Boy. When it came out in the early to mid 90's it was a lot of hype. Sears had one set up so  I played  it one time while my mom would look around. The graphics were horrible I mean really bad, the games were sloppy due to faulty graphics, and the sound well it was awful too. I was very disappointed because Nintendo made it seem like this was the next big thing. Needless to say the Virtual Boy didn't last long, sales were very poor and Nintendo scrapped that projected and begun to work on the Nintendo 64.

I don't know what Nintendo was thinking. The Super Nintendo was still Nintendo's big money maker and at its peak with its very good graphics, sounds and games.

Final Weapon : TBH, with the exception of a couple of games, I hate the Xbox 360. I mean, the D-pad for the controllers doesn't even work. And two joysticks? Really? And before you say "Well maybe your controller's broken" I have two controllers. One of them has literally never been used before when I first bought it. And for both controllers the D-pad doesn't work.

supernerd117 : Wow, your experience with the wii U seems to be great. I'm currently thinking about getting one. Is the poke tournament game any good? I had my eyes on it for quite some time now. For the gamecube, I only played, ssbs, mario sunshine, pokemon xd and colosseum. They didn't fail to disappoint me. Beyond that, I Cannot said too much.

AwesomeTrinket : Haha. I don't know what to say. Did you get them from gamestop? That's usually where I buy my controllers.

In my opinion, I would say the Wii U. I mean don't get me wrong, I like the Wii U, it has good games, and at least had some good features, but it was somewhat unimproved over the Wii. It kind of left the charm the Wii had, and the games don't enough replay value. It kind of gets repetitive the more you play each game. I mean there are games, like Super Mario Maker, or Super Smash Bros. that does have good ones, but I think that's it. There isn't a lot of Nintendo official games for the Wii U library for me, but like I said. Like the system, but somewhat of a disappointment.

The worst console for me was definitely the Wii U, which is why I am selling it. I did enjoy a number of games such as Super Smash Bros, Pikmin 3, Pokken Tournament, and Hyrule Warriors, but after messing around with those games for a number of hours, and looking at the rest of the lineup for 2016, with Tokyo Mirage Sessions #FE being the last game I would want for the system coming out soon, and Mighty No. 9 being available on other consoles, I just plan on preordering the NX for Zelda Wii U/NX. Hard to believe we didn't get a main series Zelda title for the Wii U, the first console in Nintendo's home console history that didn't get it's own Zelda. NES had Zelda 1 and 2, SNES had A Link to the Past, N64 had Ocarina of Time and Majora's Mask, GameCube had Wind Waker, and the Wii had Skyward Sword (Twilight Princess was the bridge between the two, so I don't count it as being an exclusive main series title). All we got for Wii U Zelda was a spin off Hyrule Warriors (which was still fun), and remakes of Wind Waker and Twilight Princess, reliving the GameCube days. The Wii U literally didn't get 1 exclusive, which kinda ticked me off, because we were supposed to get it this year. As much as I appreciate a game being delayed for the best product (cough cough Sonic 06), I really wish another Zelda was being developed with a side team, such as maybe another Four Swords game, or something that wasn't for handheld. Anyway, that's enough ranting for me.

Final Weapon : Yup! I've definitely enjoyed the Wii U quite a bit. A few of the games I've played:

Splatoon:

I've had some of the most fun of my life playing this game. Despite the unfair Splatfests, there is so much to love. The gameplay is unique, innovative and fun, and the game received a lot of free DLC. The main downside, though; is local mutliplayer. There are very few options, and only 1 mode. If that's what you're aiming for, I might not recommend this game unless you can get it cheaply.

Super Smash Bros.:

This game is likewise fun. It provides a ton of modes and options. There's a large fighter list, a lot of modes, and customizeable options and notably, 8-player Smash. The last point is perhaps the biggest selling point of the game. There is so much! From custom movesets to gear to perhaps the largest track list in any game ever (excluding DLC), there is a ton to find. The only downside is that most of it needs unlocked. This may not necessarily be a downside, though; as unlocking it leads to a feeling of accomplishment. However, the process is semi-random (it's weighted towards the character you're playing as, but you still can earn things you've already unlocked). But despite this, the game cam be tons of fun, and if you have some buddies over, this might be a fantastic way to spend time. Despite the lack of a Story mode, the game is much deeper than Brawl. It has some of the highest replay value of any game ever.

Final Weapon : (Un?)fortunately, we got them from Ebay. It was literally brand new, still in the box, never been touched before. I think the first controller we have (The default white one I think) came with the Xbox 360. The other one is a pink controller. Also, the second joystick for both of them don't work, so the only way I can move around is the first joystick.

The Sega 32X system. I never got one to work with my old Genesis. I remember when I was a kid my dad and I kept going to Toy R Us since they were selling them for $20.00 each and I kept trying to get one to work and none of them ever did. I never did really figure out what was wrong. I believe that only certain Genesis systems could work with it, but never confirmed it, which is dumb and why the 32x didn't last long. It was unfortunate though since I wanted to try those Sonic Games for it. Back then it was still considered a high end gaming system.

Oh and since it was mentioned in this thread I can say I like the Wii U a lot too. I don't play it as often as my Xbox One of course, but it's a good system and I love the portability it has with the separate screen. I do think they need more Nintendo RPG's for it though. That would probably help quite a lot. It seems like Nintendo focuses their RPG's more on the 3DS.

I guess I was lucky,I never had a disappointing console. Let me take you back to my first one,the Atari 2600. Was it primitive? Yes. Were some of the games awful? Yes. But it was the first out there and it helped sow the seeds for the gaming industry. Then I had the NES and I loved it. It  had great games and was easy to setup and play. Then I had the SNES,the PS1,2,and my current PS3.

Xbox 360

The only game I legitimately wanted and bought the system for(Banjo-Kazooie: nuts and bolts) was horrible. Other games I bought for it were pretty boring. There was only one game I actually liked before I eventually sold the thing and it was Viva Pinata. And yeah for the most part none of the games appeal to me and those that did I could get on either the PS3 or the PC.

Final Weapon :   I have played MANY systems in my almost 35 years, and I really haven't been disappointed in any of them.  I have always found fun in all of the ones I have played.  I haven't played the newest consoles yet ( can't afford them ) but I'd have to say that the newer ones are the most disappointing ones.  It seems they choose to go with graphics and multi player,  and a game you can beat in a few hours or days, rather than a game with a great story that keeps you hooked for a month or more.  The old consoles like, and I hate to say this because of what they have done here, Nintendo and Super Nintendo were some of my most favorite ones to play.  They really had the best rpgs.
