My wife and I were talking about this the other day and I wanted more opinions on the subject. I almost always take my socks off once I get home. I'm not really a fan of wearing socks. I would rather either have bare feet or wear slippers if I'm cold. She on the other hand ALWAYS wears socks.

So, what do you guys do?

Nope, when I get home I only take off my shoes and then I leave my socks on until I take my shower which is when I take them off and then wear either nothing on my feet or slippers.

Ever since I started college, I very rarely walk around my place without socks. I think I just started wearing them in my place all the time for a few days, then it suddenly felt weird to walk around barefoot, so I just stuck with it. Only time I ever take of my socks in my house is when I have to shower, obviously.

I couldn't imagine wearing socks all the time. Socks constitute either planning to go somewhere, or having just come home from somewhere, so taking my socks off flips a mental switch that allows me to relax knowing that I'm home for a while.

Seriously though, how do people survive keeping their socks on? lol

I always wear socks. The only time I'm not wearing socks is when I'm bathing. My wife has literally only seen my feet a few times lol. I also usually wear slippers around the house. I'm kind of a clean freak germaphobe so I like to keep myself as clean as possible.

I much prefrer taking my socks off, and if I plan to sit for a long time I do so. As mrfe said, it helps with unwinding.

However, if I plan to be on my feet for a while the socks go back on as I rarely walk barefoot. Once in a while though I like to feel the carpet under my feet.

Simple answer: it's much more comfortable going without socks. Also I will forevermore picture geeo sitting barefoot at a desk everytime I see a post by him now. Socks off to ya, man.

No I leave my socks on unless I'm going to bed I'm diabetic and diabetics have bad feet or something I'm not really too sure how or what that's all about but I'd prefer to have a bit more protection from socks then none at all if I step on something.

I wear socks to bed, so I think that answers that question lol. However with summer on the horizon I'll probably be going barefeet more often.

This made me think of my niece actually, lol. Whenever we're about to go out, it's always, "Where are your socks?" "...I don't know"

I always wear socks. Always. When I was little I even wore them to bed. Granted, that caused circulatory problems in my feet so now they're always cold...
Which is just another reason for me to wear socks all day :3

I used to wear socks all the time, but after a while, I had worn tight socks so much, the knuckles on my toes started to chafe painfully. So now I lotion them up occasionally (Even though I hate lotion... So much. XD) and try to go barefoot around the house... And then I stubbed my toe pretty bad that the toenail on my littlest toe was raised up a little, and was bleeding, lots of bleeding. XD I'm fine though. It just hurt... And still does.

Sonicolmstead : I'm not diabetic but I also have that problem. My feet I think have poor circulation and get cold pretty easily so even if I didn't want to wear socks, my feet would need them. I also have restless leg syndrome and sometimes having cold legs or feet at night can trigger it.

Nah, I couldn't think of not having my socks on most of the time. I'll even have them on while I sleep. I don't even know why I keep my socks on. Maybe I'm just lazy, I guess.

I always remove my socks at home. It makes me feel more comfortable. In fact, the only time when I wear them at home is in cold weather.

I always remove them. I think it's just a habit, I'm used to slippers and wearing them with socks is kind of uncomfortable to me, even more enclosed slippers like the ones I wear during Winter months.

The kind of socks I wear when I go out aren't made to wear them at home, but I've considered switching to home-wear socks like one of my cousins. It's a bit tiring to take off and put back on my slippers when I move around, and they can sometimes be very noisy, specially at times like right now, 1:10 AM.

I always remove them at home. My feet get really warm and uncomfortable if I wear socks indoors. I prefer not to wear socks as it is way more comfortable. The rest of my family have colder feet, so they almost always wear socks in the Fall and Winter.
