There are a few of European countries in this thread. If you choose one, please tell me:

- What you like from that country
- What it has to do with you, like work, your loved one was there, etc.
- More suggestions?

If this is a succes, i will make another poll for countries in the entire world!

MrBeingcool1 :
Honestly I love European Culture, I would love to be able to travel all over the continent. However I picked the Netherlands. I choose it because I think it's a country with tons of freedoms, such as legalized gay marriages.

The saying "going Dutch" is based off of the fact the men and women will split the bill which is an indication of the equality found within the country.

There is also a unique history between my country, Canada and the Netherlands, back in WWII, Canada kept the pregnant Princess Juliana and her children away from Nazi Germany. When it came time for her to deliver the baby, Canada officially declared the hospital in Ottawa , international territory, allowing the princess to be born into no specific country. Allowing her to be claimed by only her Dutch citizenship. Afterwards the Dutch Royal family sent a ton of tulips. Every year they keep sending more.

The UK is pretty okay simply because it's where I live and a person of my medical standing is far better off here than in most other countries sadly.

Besides that the UK has a very diverse culture and usually takes from the cultures of previous inhabitants, Such as Nords, Vikings, French and so on and so forth...

Plus free health care and the lack of cares given here is great...It's very rare to find someone who will ignore all logic and simply claim everyone else is wrong etc...

Another good thing is no guns....

but the best of all is IRN BRU... that's all.

Wait, I thought Europe was a country????!!!???!!

---

I mean are Europeans even allowed to post here because 9 times out of 10 they'll end up saying the country they live in.

I love Belgium because like what Tyri said, nobody here cares. We set the world record for longest time without a government and legit nobody gave two *****.

And we have great beer, chocolate and waffles. What more do you need?

I'm from Sweden but since that's not on the list I guess I'll pick ze Zweden. Not going to vote though because that's cheating for all the problem I have I couldn't really imagine living in many other countries (outside of the scandinavian ones anyway) and I do think we're a country that has done some great things in terms of human rights.

If I had to pick another country I'd probably say Norway because in some respects they're a more stable version of Sweden due to their oil (and since Norweigan is very similar to Swedish and Danish I can understand it to some extent). If I'm to pick a non scandinavian country I'd say the Netherlands. Seems like a pretty chill place to live in that also has a high living standard, I've never been there though so that's mostly just based on what I've heard on the internet (so basically don't take it too seriously ).

I love all of you crazy Europeans equally.

Belgium and the UK seem pretty chill. But then again, so do many other places like Spain, or the Netherlands. Those are at least the top 4 countries I want to visit anyway. But the fact Sealand isn't on the list disappoints me. Step up your game!

Furret : Yeah, but its nee, not neen dammit.

I'll be honest idk of I like the netherlands the best, I might like the UK better, idk though.

Like zlinqx i'm not gonna vote for the netherlands because that is cheating.

If I had to choose, though outside of the netherlands, the UK definitely.

I just like it. And the premier league also helps with that, I guess.

Oh yeah.

Gun control.

I kindof just look at them all and say "meh. . ."

I hate how prevalent socialism is in all of them. That means if I were to work there, I would be taxed more for benefits I don't need/wont use. It's a #$%@ good thing that Obama's new health care program can be evaded through religious exemption, or else I'd really be having a fit.

Really, I just don't get you guys. I don't want healthcare. Don't tax me for it! Don't give it too me! I don't want retirement! Don't tax me for it, and claim you're gonna give me the money back some day! All governments have proven they can't make a dime, instead they just go further into debt. I don't want the government to force me to take part in any of their social programs. I don't want wellfare, medicare, Scocialized Autocare, any of it! There are already free market establishments out there who offer these services to me for a better price, and are 10x efficient.

If you want scocializm to be a thing, then let me ask you? Where does it stop?

Scocialzed autocare? Housecare? Scocialzed clothing?

Is it the government's job to take over any sector of marketing where none of the markets perform "fair practice?"

Well, that's what competition is. And yes, monopolies are a real thing. But all a government can do is reinforce moral rule, and punish the evildoer. It's also responsible to protect citizens from danger. Though technically firefighters are a Scocialistic policy, I just look at them as an extension of the army. They do the same basic thing- protect your and my property from damages.

I think it's far easier to punish businesses which do things wrongly than it is to try and reorganize them, and make the government take it's place. In fact, how does taxing everyone, and then giving them their money back specifically for ONE THING make money any more plentiful? It doesn't! It's wasteful, and a lot of politicians will just poket what doesn't turn up on the next sheet.

ayyeee. . . that's why I'm not much for any European countries. But don't get me wrong. I'm unhappy with the United States too for the same reasons, just on a lessar extent. If you ask me, the U.S. quite being what it stood for in 1861 and after the South lost the war. Not because of slavery. But because the North would not respect the rights of the southern states and since then we've become a federal country. With states having less and less rights. . . we're united alright, but we certainly aren't "free" or independent as much as we once were.

Spain is rubbish. We suck in all aspects, except at sporting achievements. Internal battles, bad politicians, a horrible mindset, terrible traditions... I'm not surprised it still hasn't got any vote, and I doubt it will because I haven't voted for it. I would even say more: Africa starts below the Pyrenees (sorry Portugal, you have the worst neighbours you could ask for).

My vote has gone to Germany. It's an amazing country, every time I've traveled there I've had no complaints about anything, except their blocked mindset which is a recurring topic. It's history (not only war related), their cities, their culture... It's on a whole different level.

Sword legion : Stick to the poll and save the hurtful truths for another thread.

Zlinqx : I indeed noticed i wrote the Dutch variant of 'Sweden'. Oops.

Also, guys, if you want you can also choose your home country. I will make an international version if this one is cool enough for Vizzed.

Germany, hands down. The culture is fantastic, the people are just great, and the food (which I suppose is part of the culture, but still) is soooo good! And best of all, their soccer! The Bundesliga is one of the most watchable leagues in the world, and isn't full of all of the cheap crap that most other leagues have. It's more genuine.
I have two connections with Germany: I went there on vacation just to visit, and a month later, I had a soccer tournament there and actually got to train with a professional team there! One of the best experiences of my life, easily.

Well, I'd have to say out of all the European countries out there, I'd probably say that my favorite would be the UK, because that's the one I know the most about.

I've never been to Europe, but I've known a lot of people that have live in different countries, some of my friends were even born there, so I had to choose the United Kingdom based off of their recommendations.

18mlivingston : Which one, though? There are a lot of accents in the UK. There are multiple in england, too. For example, Liverpool, several in london, so on and so forth. There are also an accent in scotland, wales, and a lot more, lol. No disrespect but americans tend to just say UK or british accent while there are SO many . ( no i'm not british, i am dutch and don't really have a dutch accent but not necessarily another definitive accent)

I voted France cause it gets no love at all. Also the UK has a lot of accents. Scotland,England,Wales and Northern Ireland (can't forget them) have various accents depending on the area much like the US. If you are talking about the posh accent then I guess it is a cool accent.

I only speak English, so that would dictate that I like the United Kingdom the most, right? Wrong. I love Italy. If I had to live in a European country, it would definitely be Italy because of the culture and food. It isn't the most economically stable country, but has some good tourists attractions.
