So...this forum is going to change soon. It will soon be Mafiatale: the RPG where you have to fulfill your win condition...at all costs. If you're wanting to apply, leave a post below with your qualifications and why I might want to choose you. Here is what you'll need to do:
You'll have to look out for posters that aren't supposed to be participating in games and politely tell them to wait until another game to play. You may need to edit comments on occasion, depending on the content. If a post breaks the rules of the forum (swearing, for example), it will likely need edited. If say, a portion of the post is important to the game, then that part will need to stay in. I'll take care of most of this, but there may be times when I'm not around to clean up a situation. That's where you guys will come in. I'll put in a statement or something in the rules that say "If something goes wrong, alert the mods!". That way (hopefully), you won't have to frequently check for problem posts if I'm not around. You'll be able to know if something goes wrong because you'll be alerted to it by other users.
Also, if you so desire, feel free to come up with your own game! I'll post a suggestion thread for all users (along with a guide), and they can post their game ideas there. I will personally look over the full details of every game I won't participate in (and may send the details to mods who won't participate, as well). I'll also look over the basic details of every game I will participate in.
Your duties may include looking over the full details of games IF you want to, and don't want to participate in the particular game in question. If every mod is interested in participating in games frequently, I'll most often take the duty to look over the full details of the games. I hope every mod will not only moderate, but take time to participate and have fun. My hope is that by looking over full games, the mods (including you!) will get a better idea of what helps a game be fun, help you decide which you want to participate in, and maybe even help you make your own game!
When you do look over full games, then you'll need to watch to make sure the games follow the order set by the gamemaker. If there are twists, that's fine, as long as the gamemaker alerts the players that there may or will be twists in the game. These possible twists will need to be known before the game starts. That responsibility of disclosure will lie in the hands of the gamemaker when they submit the full details of their game.
But don't feel overwhelmed! I'll likely be taking the majority of the work. Just do what you want, when you can. This is a democracy. I'll be asking you guys what you want to do, and I'll make a plan accordingly. I want all people here to have fun and not feel overwhelmed.
