SMBLOZ123 : And that, ladies and Gentlemen, is the proof of how outdated I am regarding Pokemon. I never paid attention to those details before since I learnt of the games' existence after they were released. Stopping at Emerald did no good for me, after all.

I love that trailer, man. So hyped for these games. So far, I'm going to pick Moon version and my starter will be Popplio (The Water Starter).
I wanted the water starter to be a seal, and it was, so it's mine. >3>

Anyway, X and Y may have been the first Pokemon games with 3D Models the entirety of the game, but Sun/Moon seems to take it to a whole other level and have the camera at a permanent 3D View. Hyped.

Also, is it just me, or does the map of the region look kind of small? Maybe there's a reason for that....? (Return to Kalos confirmed???)

I still want the mystery of Zygarde to be solved in the games, not the anime. Because nobody cares about the anime anymore. Hopefully something in Sun/Moon will clear up the meaning of Zygarde.

I have looked at the new region Alola, and a lot of people thinks this could be the only island and the city is the only city. I don't think that would be the case.

The view of the island looks like it's based on Hawaii's island of Oahu, and the city on that island is based on Honolulu (the capital and largest city of the state of Hawaii). So, they would be more islands, this isn't all the islands.

Also, this is my guess, but this is very possible, the Alola Pokemon League (where you battle the Elite 4 and the Champion) could be located on the same island (basically where Aloha Stadium is located in real life).

I love the starters!!! The legendaries look like Digimon though. But it is nice to have a dual type starter again. Although it stinks that all the Zygarde stuff, and Serinna in the anime are soon to be ditched. We'll miss you both.

Alright, pokemon fans, don't hate me too much .

Its getting tiresome, they are really stretching for new ideas. Sure they get all the money, and in that regard its a good idea but, they are really, and I mean really milking the franchise now. Every game is pretty much exactly the same, apart from some new pokemon that I for the most part don't think are very good (not that I think that the pokemon games are very good but thats a whole other story)

I'm going to be perfectly honest, the water starter has to be the worst looking pre-evolved starter of all time. The fire kitten and the grass owl look ok, but let's face it, how many cat pokemon have ever been remotely usable? None, except maybe for Persian in gen 1. Other than that, every other feline has been terrible. (especially Delcatty and Liepard). Also as far as the owl goes, it's grass/flying, so of course it's going to have a ton of weaknesses (5 to be exact). Maybe the fully evolved forms will be awesome, but for now, this is easily the worst looking group of starters I've ever seen.

They really should've made the water starter a dolphin...

I wasn't the biggest fan of the announced Pokemon. I do kind of like Litten but only because it shoots flaming hairballs and the expression on his face amuses me. The legendary for Sun also looks pretty legit so I can't wait for more information on it.

I do love the region though. It has a nice tropical feel to it and I can't wait for the games to come out so I can explore the region. So yeah, even though I'm not the biggest fan of the actual Pokemon so far I'm still pretty hyped for the game.

I enjoyed watching the trailer and can't wait to send my preorder money to Amazon for them.  The owl starter's cute and probably put that starter on one of my copies.  My 3ds and 2ds are ready and waiting.  I just bought game freak's other new release on both and will probably get a sub for bank to make a mass transfer easily.  As for cats generally being bad, I seem to recall using payday abuse on Meowth Persian before they made it so trainers were refightable.

Only problem I have with the region is that it looks kind of small. A theory I heard is that it makes up for itself by traveling to the rest of the islands in Hawaii. That's a great idea, hope it's true, either that or traveling to a different region that was previously introduced.

LunarDarkness2 : Yeah, it does look a bit small. I like to believe that there's still more to the region then we actually see. Though the idea of returning to other regions to get the rest of the badges seems like an interesting idea too. If they did do that, Kalos should be the way to go, since storywise there can be more of the region that can be explored(like the Zygarde forms announced after the game)

A lot of people theorize that they would be a 2nd region in Sun/Moon, especially a return to Kalos. I highly doubt that we'll have a return to Kalos, or maybe even another previous region because of data limitations on the 3DS. Even if it's possible, I still don't see Kalos being the 2nd region because of it's location between there and Alola. The only region I really do see being the 2nd region is Unova because both Unova and Alola is based on the United States, that's mostly it.

Other than that, I don't see a returning region in Sun/Moon.

Having played through each generation up until this point and a ton of spin off games it, Pokemon got me into gaming to begin with. Now however I find it hard to still be excited for any of the games. It's obvious from an objective standpoint that Nintendo is milking the franchise not really innovating in any way. Sticking to the set formula that makes them money. The games overall nowadays feel like they're put together with not much effort. Not necessarily bad games just really copying a lot of aspects of the older ones, it gets repetetive.

Gen 5 took some smaller risks but it seems doubtful that something like it will happen any time soon. I feel like ever since X/Y released it's gone downhill. Mega evolutions while a cool novelty were in my opinion poorly implemented with no regard for the meta and being poorly explained in terms of lore. Yeah I know how it's about the bond a trainer and his/her Pokemon share but that completely falls flat when literally anyone regardless of the Pokemon's happiness level can mega evolve it as long as they have the items needed.

The X/Y games are the most underwhelming main series games to come out so far in everything from content to story/soundtrack and length. It's also laughably easy since NPC trainer rosters are put together with no real strategy involed. Which makes the game boring to play through when you're a veteran. ORAS was decent but that's because it's essentially just a remake of the gen 3 games so they didn't have to be creative in terms of the content. It is somewhat underwhelming as well. Didn't add nearly as many new things as HG/SS did looking past the special episode that occurs after the main story.

Really those who are still able to get enjoyment out of the series, good for them. I just find it harder and harder to do so. Especially with many more innovative and interesting games coming out in my opinion I'd rather spend money on. Unless Gamefreak actually does something interesting to change things up this generation, I'm doubtful on whether I'll even give the games a go this time around. At the very least they won't be my priority.

According to the Japanese Pokemon Twitter, more Pokemon Sun and Moon news will be revealed on June 2nd. What do you think this news is?

LunarDarkness2 : Not just that, based on a few sources, Game Freak will also announce a lot more information at E3 this year. So, if we don't hear a lot this Thursday (June 2nd), we'll hear a lot at E3, or maybe hear a lot of great things at both times.

One thing I don't like.... I wish Pokemon had special editions, or came with things like many other games do. You buy Pokemon, and that's all you get

According to Nintendo. We will hear a lot more news regarding Sun & Moon on June 14th during their Treehouse showing at E3 (with The new Legend of Zelda).

I believe that we will get more information on the games including info on the Alola region (a map and the town names), more Pokemon introduced, and more characters, and hopefully more things as well.

I have not played Pokémon since I had a Gameboy Advance SP with the back light screen so you could play in the dark. But when I head that new Pokémon games was coming I'm really thinking of getting one for me and one for my girlfriend. Kind a hype for the games since I have not play one on a handheld console for so many years. Would be awesome to re live my childhood. Can't wait for it actually

New gameplay footage just released confirming that Zygarde's new forms will be useable in-game! This makes me so happy, I thought they just abandoned Zygarde altogether.

Well, I for one am looking forward to the new games. No matter how many times I play Pokémon, I am always excited to see something new, even if the Pokémon end up being a complete joke (like much of Gen 5 was to me). I have already pre-ordered both versions of the game so that I can play them as soon as they come out. From what I've seen and heard, there is a lot of potential for these games. The graphical element alone has already improved, even over the last set of games. I will admit, it will be hard to beat ORAS! That game blew the standards out of the water to me, but I look forward to seeing what Sun and Moon have in store! The Sun legendary looks more awesome than the giant Moon bat thing, so I will probably play that game first.
