Like everything, they are good in moderation. They can be useful to change the smell of the house when guests are coming, when you want an odor that is not "too" chemical. However they tend to be expensive, so I use them only for such occasion when I absolutely need the house to smell good.

There are VERY few scented candles that I actually like. Some of them are just awful. Have you sniffed any of the crap that they put on the shelves at Dollar General...? Slightly off subject, I actually found a pack of scented markers. That's right, scented markers for little kids. I thought we were teaching kids NOT to huff fumes!

Oh yeah! You know what? I don't buy it but my sister does. So the ones she gets are the ones that smell really nice. There was this one candle she brought that smelled like chocolate and vanilla. It was a really nice smell of aroma and all that filled the room. Its been a while since that has happened though maybe one day we will get that sort of things again.

I don't have any at home but, from time to time I buy a few mostly apple cinnamon and vanilla flavor. I just like the smell so to me it is very relaxing specially when playing video games or watching tv.

Depends what they smell like. Honestly, some of the more mild ones are okay. But the ones that try way too hard to make a nice aroma (yes, that includes some of the more expensive ones) make me want to barf. I don't even know why; my body just hates it.

Scented candles are great and I love to use them to wind down after a difficult day .....provided they get used right.

I love the green apple ones myself but if they burn off too much wax they emit the most horrific smell I've ever experienced. Funny story, I came back home from a long car trip with nausea and burned a candle to help relax. I burned an old candle.

At least my nausea went away after all the mess was cleaned up.

I like scented candles, actually, although it depends on the scent. One block burns for like 6 hours and a pack of 6 blocks is only like $3. Cheap and just as effective as expensive candles. Plus the wax wipes right off the tray when you wanna change scents. Whoever came up with these things is a genius.
