What the in the world was I thinking?

For me yes, I've done a lot of stupid things I just look back at, and sometimes I realize how much of a bad decision I make sometimes.

For example my past reviews on the site could been a lot better, and all of the other rant and leaving threads could've gone uneeded.

So what about you? Have you ever done something on this site, or in real life that you look back as a bad move? Lemme know below.

I almost hit my mom with an hammer in 2005. I won't forget that, and i'm feeling horrible about that. I think the word 'horrible' doesn't quite describe this action...

This is a good thread crash. For me...it would be maybe because I try so hard at something I shouldn't do, and just let things come by naturally. '-'

Yea, ofcourse no one can deny that they've felt like that at least once in their lifetime. My biggest regret would probably be dropping out of college.

You know, I have a huge list of all the things that I look back and say "What the *beep* is wrong with me?"
I'll list some.

*All the bad grades I get.
*How many times I got suspended in the 2005-06 school year
*My stupidly
*Getting things my way
*Drunk posting (I admit it, I done that before on here)
*Friending that one user that I had a fight with that turned 2015 into my worse year since 2004.
*The year 2004 (enough said)

And a bunch of other things that are too boring to list

Probably just a couple of things, which turned out to be really bad, like associating with a few jerks and doing some things with my money but it's not really regretting, its more of wishing you could change things to do them just a bit differently.

I've made a variety of decisions when I thought later, "What in the world...?"

The biggest was not finishing college as quickly as I could.  I dragged it out and it ended up costing me a ton of money, a relationship, and time and effort.

Finish school, kids.  Just get it done.  The real world is 100x cooler than school.

This happens to everyone once in a while, it's just how life works. People will make mistakes and there's nothing you can do about that, besides making yourself better. I've done plenty of things that I've looked back on and remembered how stupid of a decision it was. If something is bothering you because of a situation like this, don't let it get to you.

i think everyone has at some point. it's one of the reasons i try not to stick my nose in hot/sensitive topics when they're being discussed (this goes for anywhere really). i'm more likely to word what i say poorly or simply have nothing particularly relevant to add and so i usually just stick to the role of silent observer.

not always but yeah...most of the time i'm content with simply watching such discussions play out on they're own.

Yes, so many times. I would always embarrass myself back when I was a younger. However, I try to see my past as something I should learn from and press onward to the future. If you keeping reminding yourself of the past, it'll eat you up inside and out. And trust me, it's not a very pleasant experience.

I learned not to regret things. Not saying that I don't take responsibility, I've had many moments when I had to man up for when I've lost my temper (even though the people there said I had a right ).  I just realized the it's way better to learn from it and do better.

The 2 biggest regrets in my life would have been when I let "Family Loyalty" to override good sense.

After about 6 months of Homelessness back in 2009, after my orphanage kicked me out, my mother came by, after 8-10 years, and asked me to help take care of her house in exchange for R&B. I was so focused on just getting my High School Diploma that I didn't think that I could have taken my $5000 and bought a small lot of land with a trailer. It was when I turned 22 that I learned that my mother took my inheritance and bought her house with it, took my 5k and bought expensive things (mostly clothes and house repairs), and had been stealing 3/4s of my check and running a scam business and living off the rest. Then, when my sister stood up and had her arrested (for child abuse), she accused me of not being loyal enough and turned the whole family against me. After that she just about stole everything, including my cat.

You'd think I'd learn but nope:

In 2014, I was approached by my wife's mother who wanted to find a place for her friend (who was staying with them). I had a very good offer to be a butler in the richer part of town for a disabled vet, full R&B and $300 pay, and a possible college tuition. We hit off very well. However, her mother pretty much begged me to get an apartment with her friend, so I turned to my wife's step-dad, the practical man, and he pretty much guaranteed me that she was someone we'd get along with. So I borrowed $400 so I could pay the deposit.

Not only did I get hell for reading the lease, I also got hell for challenging the apartment complex for an illegal charge (The roomie didn't like "getting involved", but I got a sit down with the Regional officer and a free parking spot  for a month and the charge removed for the rest of the term), and a refusal to take any bills in her name. The roomie agreement was that both parties pay 50% for the rent and the Internet/cable(I just wanted Interent, the roomie wanted tv and Internet), and 2/3rds of the utilities would be on me. I got hell for my wife staying at home all the time (working on my business) and going to Panera Bread everyday (to meet with clients). Within a week she started to get on my case for not paying 2/3rds of the rent and 3/4ths of the utilities (though upon breakdown it turned out our usage was 46% and she kept the lights on all the time).  I agreed to 60% of the rent and 2/3rds of utilities since she said she had no money. Later, I found out she was wasting her money on bars and parties (at other places) and that her boyfriend paid for everything but rent. I confronted her and she said she'd agree with original terms. After about a month she really got hateful, so I came to her again and learned that she was being ugly from the beginning because she hated my wife (based on my wife's parents slander). So I left in 2 weeks, but I gave her my $1000 part of the deposit, the full payment of the utilities, and helped find her a new roomie. I learned later that the parents staged that on purpose (they legit admitted to it) because they thought the roomie was a moocher (she never paid them a dime) and they blamed my wife for the step-dads heart attack and the mother's stroke. I learned it was a family problem when I caught my wife's sister bullying someone and was responded with."Well! I have the right to treat people the way I want to!".

At that point, I learned that our families are just abusive bullies and that the best thing I can do is do absolutely nothing special for them. If I had the means, I'd help them out, but if it gets destructive or abused, I'll stop it without a bat of an eye.

MrBeingcool1 : ... How do you almost hit your mom with a hammer?

Yes, I look back and wonder why the heck did I waste money and time on irrelevant things and or people. It's always fun to look bad and want to punch yourself for doing something that at the time seem like a good decision. Perspective is quite a pain.

I think this pretty often. Everything from tiny things, to big things. I always second guess myself. I mean, on one hand my choices made me who I am today. But on the other hand, I keep on thinking about what would have happened if I did things a little differently. Or handled problems more maturely.

MrBeingcool1 : Sorry to hear that and nice to know you got your medication. I'm not going to lie, I hit my mom once by being lazy and not handing her the phone so instead threw it at the bed she was laying on and somehow I completely missed the huge bed and hit her in the face... that was painful for her...and terrifying for me I thought she was going to kill me so I ran. So, that would count too as something I did and then said oh heck no, run.

Nearly every day, at least once. I tend to say a lot of stupid things when my entire life is just a gigantic rant while fighting the moon and sun itself, or something like that.

Specifically relating to Vizzed, reading my first review already, even though I've only written four others after it, I noticed so many things that I couldn't believe I let slip. It's an okay review overall, but I keep wondering what I was thinking with leaving so many things out. Such is life, I guess.

I can honestly say, yes I have. Many, many times. Mostly looking back at when I was in my teens and young adult years. I would react emotionally, instead of rationally. Or I would let friends, people that I knew in real life, walk all over me. I never stood up to my bullies. But I think that's a part of growing up. You make mistakes to learn from them. And as you get older, you know how to better reaction to situations and you look back and are thankful to have had a chance to learn those lessons. Just my opinion.

All the time. There are times I wish I could take back what I said or phrased it differently. The only thing you can do is learn from it and move forward.

All of the time actually. Especially what happened during TdV a few months back. Major regrets threre. Imperfect beings living imperfect lives. I guess this is our nature as human beings.

I have many of those times in life and you will too where you look back at things and wonder why the heck you didn't do something different. Life always seems easier in hindsight, with what you know now.

I think anyone responding to this thread would love to be able to go back in time and convince themselves to go another way with key life events.
