So, Star Wars Episode 7 is coming out tonight in most places (midnight showings and all) and I am giving fair warning to everyone - I don't want to see spoilers posted at all. Let people enjoy the movie and find out things on their own. Maybe in a week someone can make a thread talking about the movies once people have had a good chance to see it and we will warn that that thread will have spoilers.

So, anyone who posts spoilers is going to get a 7 day ban for this. NO exceptions. I don't care if you were "joking" about what the spoilers were or whatever. Don't try and ruin this for people who aren't seeing this opening day/night.

Yeah, I really will. I'm excited about this movie and anyone who intentionally posts spoilers will feel my wrath.

I'm seeing it Monday. I got my tickets yesterday. I wasn't sure if I wanted to do this but my wife and I decided to do it. I'd love to see it tonight but I don't want to deal with the craziness.

I like this, how do you know everyone will see it though? Could be a dangerous flaw possibly leading to potentially avoidable bans?

I have a feeling you created this thread for yourself to avoid the spoilers because you are going to watch the movie on later than most fans (Monday).

Anyway, I think I am not going to watch this movie. I am not really a Star Wars fan but I think the movie will not disappoint most of the fans.

However, even if people don't see it I don't think it is unreasonable to expect to not spoil a movie like Star Wars. And with this posted I don't have to feel bad about banning anyone

My family and I usually see one or two movies a year, and it's usually Christmas day. So I mean I not a huge fan of spoilers either, although I've got my suspicions on plot points. 

Anyway, I'm worried that someone who's not careful would post without even seeing this.

Even if I wasn't excited about this movie, I'd be on board with this.

Star Wars is something that is truly trans-generational. My mom saw Star Wars, my grandmother did, and I have. Everyone knows what this is, and this is the start of something that we truly do not know anything about.

Star Wars 1-3 had some decent moments. But they were prequels, we KNEW that there were some indisputable things that had to happen.

Star Wars 7 has no such hangups. They can do what they want. They have ditched the EU more or less, and can canonize whatever they want.

I just got back from seeing it! x) My family and I were the 4th in line to go watch it, and it was awesome!

legacyme3 : any major movie like this, whether I'm excited or not, should be given a week or so before spoilers are revealed. Give the fans who are super keen on seeing it a chance to see it without ruining it for them. Not EVERYONE can see it opening night or weekend (like me) and spoiling a movie only makes you a total douche

I might be in the minority on this,but I have a bad feeling they will f--k it up. I mean Transformers got screwed royally,the Robocop remake was a piece of s--t. I could not care less about the movie honestly. Lucas should have just left it alone. But now that the mouse owns it,it is only inevitable that it will get screwed.

I loved it, I tricked the security into letting me be one of the first to go in so I got a great seat. Only saw one star wars movie ever so I know nothing about it bit it's one of the best movies I ever saw, and I have so many theories.


The movie broke so many records also so far, it made more money from the Thursday night 7pm showing, then what some good movies make their entire opening weekend.

Oldschool777 : I really disagree with you. Star Wars fans all seem to be on board, and all of the early things have been positive. I've yet to see one person say anything negative about it.

I honestly think that bringing in a guy fresh like JJ Abrams was a very smart move. Remember, Lucas was involved in the prequels, and those were mostly HORRIBLE Star Wars movies.

I, like you was skeptical of Disney being involved in so many great franchises like Xmen, and Star Wars. But if we are being fair, they have done a great job with some of these SUPER POPULAR franchises. They understand how important these huge franchises are to their fans, and so far they are doing a great job of staying true to them.

Although I have yet to see the new Star Wars movie, everyone that I know that saw it on opening day said it ROCKED.

I'm gonna see it in 3D Imax this weekend. I haven't been this excited for a movie in a long long time.

I just watched it (the cinema was empty so that was awesome but I reckon it will be busy tonight and during the weekend) and it was fantastic. Everyone has to see this movie.

I actually think a 2 week wait before discussion would be better since there may be some people who get paid on a bi-weekly basis.
