So, let's talk about coffee.

Am I the only one who finds coffee basically essential? When I wake up, I have like a 20 minute buffer period where I should just be considered a giant "Do not disturb" sign. If I don't have coffee, this basically becomes like a 3 hour "Do not disturb" sign. So Vizzed community, what do you all think about coffee and it's ability to keep me from going haywire on people.

Also, French Vanilla is the best coffee. This is not an opinion, this is a fact proven by the court of SkilledTree law*.

*Skilledtree law is accredited in any countries, states, or provinces. Though it is whispered that SkilledTree law is still an accurate representation of the truth and falls within the 95 percentile of fact checking.

Coffee isn't essential, its everything. Today at 5:45 AM I had a cup at 7-11 and now at 8 I'm at school waiting for free coffee day to start. French vanilla is amazing.

I tried coffee for a year or two in high school, but ultimately discarded it. It didn't produce an impact on me, and I can safely replace it by almost everything.

In winter, for example, I can replace it by any kind of hot drink. It infuses new life to my almost dead body in the morning. I'm unable to do anything immediately after waking up if I don't drink or eat something, but not necessarily coffee.

Besides, if I wanted a caffeine supply, I would turn to coke almost instantly. I'm lazy enough to just open a can/bottle instead of going through the whole process of preparing/getting prepared a cup of coffee

Coffee is life. I drink a lot of it every day. :3

I prefer iced coffee to hot coffee because you can start drinking and enjoying the iced variety right away. I enjoy almost all kinds. French vanilla is pretty good. But I've come to like straight up unflavored coffee too. It's less calories, and I always liked how coffee tasted anyway. But every now and then I put some more flavor into mine. But that is just how I enjoy coffee.

I don't drink coffee at all. For one I think it tastes pretty terrible and another I've never wanted to depend on something like that just to be functional everyday.

I've never really understood the need for a coffee in the morning. Unless you constantly live off of less sleep than you should be getting of course. It just seems like a crutch to me. Even when I'm tired I don't bother with caffeine unless I'm staying awake late for something fun.

Here I am at work enjoying a cup of coffee and I read this thread thought it was funny. Although I must say since the receptionist made the coffee today I am not quite enjoying the taste as it has too much water; however, I don't care how it taste, I need coffee!!!!! LOL. Coffee indeed is very essential and I have read on the news lately that a cup of coffee a day can help prevent heart problems. It does not surprise me as just about any food or product grown from nature tends to have great effects on the body- of course some have bad ones too- all in moderation. In Puerto Rico, coffee is a MUST, unlike normal average kids, I grew up drinking a full bottle of very strong coffee every single day and had to have one every night to go to sleep. I used to drink 4-5 cups of heavily strong coffee every single day and must days could not sleep without having a cup. I figured I had to get a grip of it though and must say this is the 2 cup of coffee I have had in about two-three weeks- took a while to get use to it but, I no longer have super shaky hands which comes in very "handy" (pun intended) when playing video games. I find myself less schizophrenic when I die playing Mario Games and aim better when playing Gears of Wars and such. But, yes nevertheless I still make sure I have my cup of coffee at least once a week specially when I need to be recharged at work like today. I like the French Vanilla creamer a lot and agree it is MAJESTIC. However, I don't like French Vanilla Ice coffee at all I have bought it from McDonalds, Gas Stations and such and I just hate the strong taste it has. When it comes to cold coffee I prefer just simple Vanilla, if buying from Starbucks I prefer the Peppermint and usually try different flavors. Enjoy your cup of coffee!

Actually I think it's called "Addiction". Which makes sense, coffee is an addictive thing.
No, I don't think it's essential. At all. People addicted to drugs says that drugs are essential, same thing really.
If you need coffee to function or get up in the morning or to be a good person, it's an addiction.

That being said I love coffee and it takes ridiculously good.

Caffeine isn't considered to be on par with drug addiction.
Regular consumption does cause mild withdrawal symptoms, but nothing near addictive drugs.

That being said, I love my morning coffee and false, French vanilla is not the best coffee. I think that might be hazelnut.

Coffee is art.

The method of bean roasting, the added ingredients such as milk or sugar, it all has a magnificent taste when prepared properly, and the aroma is quite invigorating.

That being said, french vanilla cappuccino's are the best thing ever and I'd probably drink them every day if I could. Coffee is my favorite drink, Milk being a close second.

I also like milk in my coffee so win/win

And yeah, I'm addicted to it and some people tell me I need help but I don't care :3

I'm one of those rare people who dislikes coffee, I do not think it tastes good at all and I particularly hate the smell of it. While I can drink it if I for some reason have to, it's something I'd rather avoid, as I have no need for it and would rather not become dependant on something so unhealthy. If I'm desperate for a pick me up I'll just grab an energy drink or some other carbonated drink which is usually a lot more effective for me, and if I want a warm drink which is rare, I prefer Tea most of the time, which at least to me has more taste to it, and is usually a lot less unhealthy.

Good replies everyone! To anyone who disagrees about French Vanilla being the best coffee though, I respect your opinion but I mist remind you that your opinion is wrong. Haha!

zanderlex : You understand the finer things in life.

EX Palen : I can respect that! Sometimes I like to drink like 20 cups of hot chocolate during cold days in the winter. Hey, it hits the spot!

geeogree : I'm a student with a part time job and a ton of hobbies, and I get about 4 1/2 - 6 hours of sleep per day, except for weekends. I believe this is why I found coffee to be so great. I used to down energy drinks like a madman, but ultimately I decided the health risks involved were not worth the extra boost. Coffee has a lot lower risks (plus a few benefits), and it's why I made the switch. I respect your decision to keep coffee-free, though!

jlove92 : See, you went and called French Vanilla majestic, and you provided great alternatives. You, my friend, are a scholar and a connoisseur in the art of coffee (I despise French Vanilla Ice coffee and I don't know why. I prefer Ice White Chocolate Mocha).

maguc : I have read online that coffee is somewhat addictive. I don't believe I am addicted, though I guess you never truly know when you're addicted. Like on weekends I don't need coffee, but I also usually oversleep by like 2-3 hours.

Vanelan : See, you started off strong by defending us from being addicted people, and then you took a wrong turn and said French Vanilla isn't the best coffee. How does one mess up like that (Hazelnut is pretty good haha)?

yoshirulez! : Why are we not friends? Coffee is love... Coffee is life...

Zlinqx : To each his own! Though... I would think if your concerned about health - coffee would be a lot safer than energy drinks. There are a ton of flavors for coffee - but I totally understanding avoiding it altogether. I mean, at least I'll pretend to understand - for you.

that explains the love of coffee. I can't live like that. I get a minimum of 6 hours a night (unless my kids have something to say about it). I'm sure if I got less than that I would be a coffee drinker too.

I'm more of a tea person, but I'll sometimes drink coffee. Well, decaf, actually. I don't know why, but when I drink tea I feel relaxed-- yet energetic. There was this one time where I drank coffee (not decaf), and I had a huge crash. I felt extremely sick the next day.

I don't drink coffee often. I can usually get myself up in the morning and go about my day.

I do sometimes if I had a really bad nights sleep and have a lot to do that day have a cup of coffee to help me out. decaf does nothing so I have to have normal coffee.

Skilledtree : Well It's not like I avoid at all costs, I can still drink it I just don't particularly enjoy it and energy drinks are good as I don't want an energy boost every day only now and then in which case they're not that huge of a health risk and I tend to feel coffee doesn't really pack as much of a punch those times. Anyways thanks for understanding and I'll pretend to understand why people love coffee

Skilledtree : lol Thanks. I find it odd but, for some reason cold coffee and French Vanilla don't seem to taste right. The creamer on top of freshly brewed coffee though  Tasty! Have you tried Cuban, Colombian, and Puerto Rican coffee? I have tried quite a variety and quite surprise to taste so much difference between them. I actually visited an Hacienda in Puerto Rico dated back to the 19th century that started as a corn mill to feed slaves but was later turned into a coffee farm that operates by using energy from a nearby river. It's called Hacienda Buena Vista and you get to pick the coffee beans and brew it using the river and dry it outside using the sun. Not a bad tour and you get to see how they all lived. Here are some pictures. Thought I'd share a bit of what I know since we are all so diverse here

Thought I'd share a bit of what I know since we are all so diverse here

when I was younger, I didn't really like coffee all that much. Now that I'm older it LOVE it. Although I only really drink it in the morning to warm myself up (in the winter time) and to wake myself up a little bit. Although generally I use it as a comfort type drink, rather than something I just HAVE to have in order to function.

I'm not one of those people that freaks out if I don't have a cup o' Joe in the morning.
