Yup, that's right.  In the latest Nintendo Direct, it was revealed that the first generation of Pokemon games is coming to the 3DS eshop.  People will be able to trade Pokemon wirelessly this time around.  It's not revealed whether or not there will be Pokemon Bank compatibility, but it seems unlikely.  I'm hyped for this announcement (even though I really can't afford any of them right now), and have been waiting a long time for it.  I hope this means G/S/C will be coming to the eShop as well.

How do you feel about this announcement?  Will you be picking any of them up?

I heard about the announcement. I honestly don't get what took Nintendo so long to make this announcement. Like seriously, it would've been better for them to make it back when the 3DS virtual console came out. Well, I guess it's better late than never. I might buy red and yellow, even though they're available here on Vizzed.

I will admit that this is very interesting, coming near the end of Virtual Console.

I expected a second Gen I remake. I'm not sure if I like a port any more; all I can say is that the Genwunners are happy right now. Although, they certainly have been happy as of late.

That sounds awesome, I'd love to be able to play some of those games on my 2DS, especially Yellow since it was great and being able to trade sounds amazing as well.

I hope that it's not too expensive though, if it's not a reasonable amount then I probably would just stay here with them and not get them.

What I really hope is that they put Gold on it, that would be amazing.

Oh boy, now people can finally see how awful Gen I looks nowadays! And the gamebreaking glitches are still in it,too! Yay!

Anyway, I guess it is a cool thing to do, but I better get gen II ports sometime afterwards (because Gen II is much, much better)

i'm interested in it, might get all 3, i still need more info on stuff like bank compatibility, prices, or any ability to buy all games at one or you can only play red and yellow (assuming you chose red) or the ability to trade with yourself, (highly unlikely) but legend of zelda oracles did something like that with the linked thing (not 100% sure). i would like to see a translated green, or Japanese blue. and maybe some of the things seen for Japanese people

Now this I am extremely excited for. I've been waiting for the older Pokemon games to be put up for sale on the 3DS for so long. I knew the Harvest Moon ones were, but aaa. I'm so excited to be able to play Yellow. I'm wondering if they'll maybe integrate a system of transfer. I doubt they could, but it would be amazing if they did. Especially for those of us who wanna complete the pokedex.

Even if they don't, I just wanna play as ash again with my Pikachu. ;u;

Definitely going to get at least one of them(most likely Yellow). Not sure about the other two. Even though they are on Vizzed, it'll be nice to have them to go on a system that was designed to play games like that.

Gen I has aged like milk. Plus we shouldn't support Genwunners anymore. They need to play other Pokemon games and give the other 640 Pokemon a little of their love. Anyways, all the "only 90's kids" crowd (You know the ones; always talking about how the 90's were the height of humanity and everybody else sucks) might wet themselves, but they are too busy watching Nickelodeon through their nostalgia goggles to go the store, or play any game past SNES.
So...At least it will give people more chances to play Pokemon!  I really like the wireless trading feature too.

I did never pick up Firered/Leafgreen and if they'll handle trading anything like the newer games with being able to trade through the internet it would be cool.

The way you are able to trade in the games is very awesome as well, I was worried a little that you are not able to get the version exclusive Pokémon and Pokémon like Gengar (trade evolution).

I'm really glad to see or rather Hear that Red/Blue/Yellow are coming to the eShop as Yellow was the Pokémon game that got me into the series and I still have the cartridge somewhere but sadly no GBA to play it on. Once again I'll be playing the classic and not have to worry about losing it or internal battery failure.
