My brother introduced me to the site, and, being the idiot kid I was, started to make a bunch of stupid, rage-induced posts. One of my reviews is probably still up, but I'm very embarrased of my Vizzed past.

I'm going to be honest here. I found Vizzed 6 and a half years ago while trying to find a way to play Donkey Kong Country 2 on my PC. At the time, I didn't own a Super Nintendo, was bored of playing games on Facebook and didn't have the money to buy a new video game console. I didn't get an Xbox 360 until early 2013 and when I joined Vizzed it was like opening up a gold mine to day long past. When I first joined, I hit up classics like The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past and Super Mario World and moved on to the aforementioned Donkey Kong Country trilogy. This site has even given me a chance to play more obscure titles like Firepower 2000, NARC and Mischief Makers; and I freaking LOVE those games. It's impossible for me to express just how much I enjoy this site with words, but let's just say that if it weren't for Vizzed; my life would be a lot less interesting.

i'm pretty sure back in 2010 when i was posting my first video game reviews, i saw vizzed pop up as an advertisement. i was also friends with a lot of other video game reviewers on youtube that had accounts on vizzed, so i was able to befriend some friends on the spot. left after a year of grinding on the site playing retro games through emulators, and now i'm back to continue enriching my video game interests.

Well, I was searching for the lost city of Gold but found this site instead. I think this site is more valuable, and it is tax free.

Tbh I found Vizzed by searching up Mario Party 3 on google. It was 2013, and after days of avoiding Vizzed at that time, I came to my senses and clicked on the link to it and I made a profile.

I found when I was trying to find a way to play n64 games online. (didn't know emulators were a thing back then, I thought sites like these were the only ways to play these sort of games.) Overall, it's a ok site. Only one that plays dreamcast games so theres that.

I was once trying to find a way to play Pokemon Emerald online since the game wouldn't load anymore on my DS, and thankfully I found this site on April 2012. I started playing it a lot, along with Pokemon Leafgreen and other classical titles. I was the happiest boy back then. One year later, on July 2013, i came back to play games on a daily basis, but got annoyed by the 'play games 7 times per day' limit, so i decided to make an account and here i am

I remember finding vizzed in December of 2012 from another site like this called retro uprising. When I was bored looking for sonic CD online I came across this site and later registered and the rest is history.  I plan on being active again and maybe doing game reviews soon don't really know

Well I was on Google looking for a legal way to play retro games without owning them and I spent a little bit searching. I saw a link for Vizzed, clicked it and it brought me here. So I created an account and I've had my account ever since.

I believe it was to find Mario 64 for free. I have tried to get several friends to sign up, but they remain skeptical of this emulator service..

I found the site when I was looking for a way to play Mother 3 online. After a few google pages, it showed up. The feel of the site and the amount of games to play made me decide to stay after beating Mother 3.

Oh wow that was along time ago...  I was on a computer that was on the verge of dying, or at least I thought it was.  So I didn't want to download a bunch of emulators or things that would slow it down further and immediately lose any progress I had when it eventually would die.  I was also worried about the Legal side of Emulation.  So I figured id take another route and looked for game sites to play online.  Thats when i found a site called Retrouprising.  The website works kinda like this one, only it had a special plug in you needed to play games to the fullest.  But this lead to a few problems, turns out the site was downloading the roms onto my pc and slowing it down, and the Plugin loved getting randomly flagged by my security programs, and eventually i just couldn't update it and had to wander off.  So I looked around and found Vizzed here and decided to give it a try.  The Fake Currency and Whole lot of icons about 'Bible games' had me a bit worried at first [I am a Pagan Athiest myself], but I found some of my old GBA games here.  Stuff id actually previously owned so I wanted to play them again.  Now all these years later I still pop on by to chat and play some games every so often.  Alot of my fave games are missing now thanks to Videogame companies crashing hard on sites like this.. but its a nice nostalgia trip to pop into every so often.  As an older gamer who was raised by gamers and played games of some sort all his life, being able to find a place to just Nostalgia bomb every now and then has always been nice, particularly with the Large amount of Rom hacks that added characters, changed levels or were just a straight Boss rush of a game series.  I will always do my best to buy copies of games that are made available to me, the problem are the sheer number of games, like Warsong for the Genesis,  that I loved which never got a re release.  So these sites help me find those classic hidden gems of my child hood.
I understand to a point why Nintendo and so many companies love to slam websites like this one, I really do.  But at the same time games like Doom and Cave Story, as well as personal experience lead me to belive that a vast majority of us gamers are not cheap and are happy to rebuy the games of our youth... WHEN they are put out there.  The problem is that they are not  and we cant get them, so games like the afformentioned Warsong are doomed to fade out.   However the rush on sites like this has led to another growing gaming trend.  Despite the problems caused by newer Tvs, alot of game stores and gamers have just been re buying the old games again.  SO now they own legal copies, and NOW companies like Nintendo are not getting money because, well,"Hey I bought an NES, know people who can FIX it if its broken, AND own these games again.  So I dont need to download Castlevania on my 3ds!"
Gamers have found another way to rebel against the logic used by gamign companies, lots of retro game stores are popping up to the point where if I want to, I know a place where I can go and buy an intellevision and if its there, maybe also pick up a ps4 game if I want to.
I brought Doom and Cave story up because fans of those games know that both games became famouse for being FREE.  SURE Doom only gave the first Episode, but the word of mouth for how awesme the game was led to a game series Still releasing today.  Then you have Cavestory which is FULLY free on the artists website, but people still buy and play copies on other systems, as well as updated versions that make it to STEAM and 3ds.
WOW this turned.. a bit ranty I see.. and I hope no one minds, hell I dunno if anyone is even gonna read this.  But nonetheless I feel quite a bit better now to get all of that out.   I miss websites like Emuparadise and the old days of when everything was playable here.  Again sorry about the rant, but it had to come out some place, and this is as good as any I suppose.

My memory is fuzzy... But started on Acmlm in like 2001? and think I met David from some offshoot acmlm board. Vizzed has always been my favorite though.

I like to check in from year to year to say hi. Lol

Some great memories over the years.

Vizzed.com is very expensive to keep alive! The Ads pay for the servers.

Vizzed has 3 TB worth of games and 1 TB worth of music.  This site is free to use but the ads barely pay for the monthly server fees.  If too many more people use ad block, the site cannot survive.

We prioritize the community over the site profits.  This is why we avoid using annoying (but high paying) ads like most other sites which include popups, obnoxious sounds and animations, malware, and other forms of intrusiveness.  We'll do our part to never resort to these types of ads, please do your part by helping support this site by adding Vizzed.com to your ad blocking whitelist.
