One of the Vizzed servers are currently inaccessible which means the following services are unavailable:
-Most CD systems *
-The Game Chat
-Chat Rooms
-Vizzed Minecraft Server
-Cometchat Bar

*Most CD systems includes PlayStation, Sega CD, Turbo Grafx CD, Sega Saturn, CD-i and PC-FX. Dreamcast games will work since they're located on a different server.

All of the games were previously down for any staff member and user with the Download Accelerator all morning but I just made it so that all files are being downloaded from one of the still working servers but our CD systems aren't located on that server which is why I wasn't able to bring back up the CD systems.

The issue is a DNS related issue. I've been working on the issue and this server is 1 of 2 servers that I still host with Godaddy. I spent quite a while on the phone talking with grumpy tech support and they weren't able to help me resolve the issue. I'll hopefully have it taken care of within the next 24-48 hours.

UPDATE 1: I still don't know why this happened but I know what triggered it. After looking through my emails, I saw that Godaddy had done some maintenance on the server on Saturday night (10/17/2015) and ever since then, both domains on the server stopped working. It's kinda sad that they weren't willing to fix the issue for me when I contacted them, especially since they basically caused the problem. I'm going to try and contact them again letting them know that their maintenance caused the issue.


UPDATE 2: I can't seem to get in contact with Godaddy at all. I try contacting their live support and I've been getting this all morning "We are currently experiencing high chat volumes, all of our agents are busy assisting other customers, please call (480) 505-8877 for immediate help". I then try to call them and literally no answer. I guess I'm stuck having to email them which kinda pisses me off because I know it'll take them a while to get back to me. Sorry everyone but this issue is definitely out of my control


UPDATE 3: My host finally got back to me with instructions on how I can fix the problem myself but it's kinda too late since I'm already in the process of migrating the file server to a new host. The full migration could take anywhere between a few days to an entire week but I'll focus on finding solutions in the mean time to bring up some of the other services quicker. Here's a break down of the possible benefits:
-Faster Game Downloads
-Faster and more reliable Minecraft Server
-Faster and more reliable Chat Room
-A new netplay server which could be faster and more reliable than the current
-Enough space to potentially add more CD systems in the future without having to worry about upgrading

2 services that I was able to bring back up today include the game chat (and netplay chat) and the cometchat bar (for those who have access to it). Those services were previously hosted on the vizzed.co server but I've moved them to the vizzed.com server and after doing so, they actually function so much better now (response time is amazing)! When the new vizzed.co server is set up, I'll be placing those services back on vizzed.co but if it doesn't run as well on the new server compared to how well it currently is running, then I may just leave it on the vizzed.com server.


UPDATE 4: PlayStation games are finished transferring and are available to be played again! Well technically some of the games have been available for a while since the games have been transferring for the past few days but they're basically almost all finished transferring now.

The transferring of the other CD games will begin tonight and will probably take until Sunday to finish transferring. The next CD system that I'll be working on will probably be the Sega Saturn so you can probably expect them to become available again Saturday night.

The main Chat Rooms are still down (including the Netplay Lobby chat) but I'll hopefully get them back up over the next 2-3 days. The Vizzed Minecraft server is still down since I'm having troubles transferring it over to the new server due to the size. There are probably a few other lesser known services that I'm forgetting to mention that are still down but I'll be sure to let everyone know as I get each down service back up.


UPDATE 5: All CD games should now work! PC-FX, Turbo Grafx CD, CDi and Sega CD were transferred and made available again sometime yesterday. The transferring of Sega Saturn took place around 36 hours ago and was just made live now. PlayStation was made available again a few days ago which I posted an announcement about already.

The Vizzed Minecraft Server, Chat Rooms and a few other services will most likely be available tomorrow. The migration of those services takes some custom configuration which can be a little time consuming. The Minecraft Server files have all been transferred and extracted but for some reason I still can't get it to work; I'll continue looking into the issue tomorrow and will hopefully have it working again.

Over the next few days I'll also be making some adjustments to how the Game Accelerator item works. I'll also be adding 1 or 2 new netplay servers and taking down 1 or 2 of the current (hopefully the new ones run better).


UPDATE 6:

Chat Rooms Back Up
The Chat Rooms are back up which also includes the netplay lobby. Unfortunately I was unable to transfer the files from the old server to the new server for some reason. I invested a few hours into this with no luck. This basically means that all of the chat room settings have been reset and all user chat room stats have been reset. The accumulated chat room minutes on your profile are still the same.

The staff are in the process of trying to get the chat room back to how it was. We'll be trying to adjust the settings to match the old settings over the next few days and we'll also be adding back some of the old rooms. The chat room may run better now and be more stable.

Vizzed Minecraft Server Back Up
The Vizzed Minecraft Server is up and running again. Nothing was lost and the server should definitely be faster and more stable (of course your own computer's performance ultimately determines how well it runs).

File downloads for non-CD games and some CD games should be faster over the next few days. I'm not sure whether this will be a permanent change or not but most likely these speeds will only be temporary (and eventually exclusive to staff members and users with the download accelerator).

I've still got a few more things to take care of but I'll be taking care of those things later this week. Those additional things include adding and removing netplay servers, fixing various things that need to be fixed due to the transfer and adjusting how and where the files are retrieved.

I see why some of vizzed is down, but i can't download the RGR plugin now for a unknown reason, i tried reinstalling it and all and still nothing worked

I was wondering why cometchat was down. Anyways, I have a question, is this issue going to cause issues with my PS1 save files or will this be unaffected?

gamerforlifeforever2 : It shouldn't be affecting your save files since your save files are stored on your computer. Even if it's not stored on your computer, it shouldn't be affected nonetheless.

My games would have still worked despite the issue if it were not for my game accelerator. That's never happened to me before.

Is there any chance of that issue ever coming up again?

Postman3 : This is because the game accelerator downloads the cartridge games from a special server (which is the server that went down) that isn't getting as much bandwidth used up which means the priority of your downloads are usually higher.

It could definitely happen again. Some things are hard to predict and this issue came up randomly. The thing is, the same issue could happen to the regular file server as well.

faing : In the past I've been known to under estimate how long things will take so I've learned form that and I usually try to over estimate how long it'll take to avoid pissing off anyone. It could be on the shorter side of 24 hours but it could easily take up to 48 hours. In fact, if I end up having to migrate servers, it could take more than 48 hours but I hope it doesn't come down to that point.

Cometchat is a chat functionality (which is a long bar at the bottom of the screen) in where you can chat real time with your added friends (you can see your online friends list in your profile). The feature is only limited to elite members and up to avoid server or bandwidth issues. That means trusted, normal and newbie members won't be able to use it.
