Just so that everyone knows of all of the series:

• Dragon Ball is Kid Goku
• Dragon Ball Z is firstly late Teen Goku and then all the way to Adult Goku.
• Dragon Ball GT is Adult-Aged Goku in Kid Goku body.
• Dragon Ball Super is the latest, and hasn't been fully developed yet.
• Note: Dragon Ball Z and Dragon Ball Kai are very similar, only a few minor differences... Oh, and of course Dragon Ball Kai has only been produced up to a certain point in the story of Dragon Ball Z.

As for my favorite, it would have to be Dragon Ball Super, but for different reasons than you may think. It's my favorite because of how the characters are. Vegeta's not as egotistic as in previous series; plus he actually attempts to spend time with his family. Goku isn't too different, but there's still something about him that I don't see in the past versions of him. I could go on, but I don't want to keep you from replying any longer.

Dragon Ball Z is of course the best of the Dragon Ball series. The most memorable battles, the storyline, and everything else people love about the series can be found in that series. Next would be Dragon Ball, then Super, then GT of course is the worst.

Z is the beast one, because it has drama, comedy and greats fights. I put dragon ball on second mainly because it's really fun and has great jokes. GT was really boring in certain chapters. And I don't want to talk about kai

I'm going to have to go with Kai on this one because that one was the one that I had watched the most and it's the one that got me interested in the series. One of my roommates used to watch it all the time and I was forced to batch I too and I didn't like it at all but then as I started to watch it more I grew to be okay with it and then eventually I started to like it and I used to actually go and watch episodes on my own because I liked it so much but I couldn't really follow any of it since I didn't know much about the series in general but then after that I started watching others.

The original of course! That's what I grew up with. It was amazing and always had those cliff hangers sending you to the tip of your toes. And making you to rush after school to watch the latest episode as well. Boy were those days great....I still watch it till this day I actually have it downloaded onto my laptop for whenever I want to watch it at any time. I did grew up with dragonball as well and I liked it too. But I liked dragonball z more because of how it portrayed in a way.


I am sorry to say to Kai fans I despise Kai from the heart and with passion. I have reasons. The only thing I liked about Kai is the English opening and that's all.

Dragon Ball. It is amazing. It got away with so much stuff that wouldn't fly today.

Dragonball was my favorite.  It didn't have the action of Dragonball Z, but it had great back stories for each characters. And my favorite episodes were the Muscle Tower episodes. My least favorite Dragonball was the Dragonball GT. It just didn't have the good stories that the first two cartoons had. I do hope that this next series lives up to the Dragonball Franchise. 

First off, I did not know there was another series being made.  Where can I find this Super you speak of?  I would have to say that my favorite series is definitely  Dragon Ball Z....but only up to the Frieza saga.  I hated Mr. Satan so much, and it just got worse from there.  GT was ok, but that ridiculously annoying robot tag a long just reminded me of how annoying Hercule was, and the fights seemed to slow down dramatically to the point that it looked like they were faster back in the Saiyen saga.  I could never really get into the original Dragon Ball series much.  I do suggest watching the abridged versions you can find out there.  They are hilarious but there is swearing for all you youngsters.  If you are a true DBZ fan, you must watch them

Comment on the Dragon Ball Z Abridged part of your post: I know it is an extremely funny and well-produced series. The reason I did not add it to this list is because it was not mainly produced by or generally made by Akira Toriyama. I love abridged, but I would never dream of it matching up to the original series ( series being plural ). 

And, about the Dragon Ball Z Super being made that you did not know about: 

Dragon Ball Super is still relatively new. As a matter of fact, no one has had the chance - or even the permission - to convert the episodes into any English dubs, yet. 

However, there are episodes with English subtitles on YouTube, but only about 5 or 6 - if that much.

Of course, if you know the original language ( Japanese ), and want to see those episodes, you can always buy it on some Movie/TV purchasing software or apps, such as Google Play or something. 

If I absolutely had to pick a favorite, it would probably be Dragon Ball Z. But I like all 3 of three of them almost the same way. I have heard of Dragon Ball Super but I literally have not had ANY time to watch it.

Just like pretty much everyone else in my generation, Dragon Ball is what I grew up watching most of the time. It was also really the first action show I remember watching all the time as a little kid. Then when they started making Dragon Ball Z, it was like my favorite show of all time just got 100x better! I watched all of Dragon Ball GT more than once, but I didn't really like it as much as the other two. It still grabbed my attention enough to watch the whole thing anyway, though.

Its just too awesome of a series NOT to watch!

Hey now...wait a minute...you guys LIKE the 10 episode long power-up scenes in the original DBZ?
Kai is far superior in my opinion...
I haven't seen the English dubs, but the Japanese are still good...

Vanelan: To be honest, I like Dragon Ball Kai a little better than Z, as well . . . True, it has a few flaws, but it is an improvement in my opinion . . . 

I have wished that it would proceed all the way to the Buu Saga, in all fairness, though . . .

Oh, and one more thing . . . The English dubs on Dragon Ball, Kai, Z, and GT were way off compared to the original Japanese episodes, in terms of translations, of course. Take the well-known phrase in the Saiyan Saga, for instance; IT'S OVER 9000!!! was originally IT'S OVER 8000!!!. This is only one of the many, many errors in Japanese-to-English translations. The most accurate English dubs were the Ocean dubs, as the translators knew quite some bit of Japanese, but still made a few incorrect phrases.

TheTrueUlti :   I did find Dragon Ball Super, and I have to say that it seems to be an extended version of both of the movies Kame to Kame and Resurrection F so far.  I am a little disappointed in Super as a series so far.  I thought the movies were pretty good, but the filler in Super is just that...filler

lordbelial669 :  The fact of the matter is that Super is not finished yet. It is said to supposed to have at least 150 episodes when it is fully completed, as there will be brand new characters and it will use the Super Saiyan God Super Saiyan form. Of course, it might stop at Resurrection of F, but by my reasoning, it should go farther beyond that. This is because once it uses the Super Saiyan God Super Saiyan form by defeating Frieza, it must give more information about the form, as it only showed very little bits and pieces of the forms capabilities, rather than providing knowledge of limitations, etc.

A user of this : Dragonball z had something Kai doesn't have. I'm not really upset some people like Kai more the original series because they cut off a lot of the power ups. I watched the first episode and I ended it there. I know my fav actors are in it. But the music was off for me it didn't give me the vibe I was looking for. When you watch a great anime show you need to at least have the best way to end things. And Kai doesn't have that. And Kai has something dragonball z doesn't have and that's the cut off of the power ups. Not only that they won't as I know do the buu saga they cut that one off. As for super I said no way in a way.

They were to cut of most important parts of dbz and how goku got super sayian 4 in the first place in gt. So what I was told they are going to completely erase the fact of that then replace it with super sayian god? Saying that goku as a super sayain 4 never existed in the first place? For me that went to too reason why I refuse to watch the newly dbz shows. Everyone has their opinion's they are not going to like what you like. Also gt isn't as bad as people may think of it. The only best seasons was from baby season and up. Before then I can agree those seasons were poor. And my least fav character is pan they made her really annoying in gt. But then I still love her in the original series at the end.

Eniitan:  Dragon Ball GT was never really supposed to happen, this was confirmed by Akira Toriyama. It was literally created only by fans. The only thing Akira contributed to in GT was the characters and essential items, such as Dragon Balls and Holy Water. Even then, he did not come up with the Black Star Dragon Balls. Even if he had thought of them first, I doubt he would give them such powers that they had in GT. After all, Dragon Balls that will almost inevitably destroy planets? I don't think so.



Also, I think he was the one to come up with the Golden Oozaruu, but not the SSJ4, as a full Super Saiyan (without contributions from a God-like source) should only have golden hair, thus giving him the idea of a Golden Oozaruu, which represents a Super Saiyan. This, not being completely confirmed, is just my thought though. I've read all the Mangas, too.



And about Super . . . It has a really substantial aspect to the whole Super Saiyan thing. It keeps everything the same, with one new (and understandable) idea. A Super Saiyan 2+ will only degrade the power of the user. I think I understand why, too. It puts too much strain on the body, kind of like an Ascended Kaioken to Goku in the Saiyan Saga of Dragon Ball Z.

I'm more familiar with dragon ball z. Especially with the introduction of super saiyans transformations. I never saw the original, though. A lot of people hated GT for some reason.

I like all of them but I like Dragon Ball more probably. I like that it"s more about martial arts and seeing all those characters introduced. Examples Tien Shinhan Yamcha and Krillin <--was pretty cool in the tournament fights. Spoiler if not seen (and I thought it was epic
when kid Goku punched a hole right through the original Piccolo.) This series explains General Tao in dbz and emperor Pilaf in gt
and every other character if you've watched only dbz and not dragon ball.

I never had the chance to finish the original Dragon Ball so I'm gonna try to do that as soon as possible. As much as I liked Dragon Ball Z which is honestly my favorite Dragon Ball as of right now you would think that I would be in a hurry to watch Dragon Ball Super but I'm not because I've seen the ratings and they look poor. Dragon Ball GT wasn't bad it just didn't have as much action as Dragon Ball Z did.
