Anyone know a good 2DS or 3DS emulator? I want to try out Pokemon Omega Ruby since the Gen 3 games are my favorite. I figured I should probably ask here before downloading something randomly from the Internet.

tgags123 : There are no 3ds or 2ds emulators. Every single one is a virus. Do not go near these...I did once and AVG was spamming "Threat, threat, threat!"

The 'technology' currently isn't good enough to emulate 3ds games or 2ds. There has not been a legit one developed yet.

There are no 3DS or 2DS emulators as of yet, sadly.

Perhaps in a year or two some genius will develop one though.

I wonder what the character limit on this thing is.

More in likely that there isn't a 3DS emulator site as of this moment, if they was, more likely Nintendo will have it taken down, or if it manage to survive, it will pack with so much viruses, your computer will break.

So sadly, there isn't any site online that has 3DS/2DS games, maybe 10 years from now, we may get some, but as of now, nope.

tgags123 : I believe GamingN00B is right.  I looked into it a while ago, and all I found was false stuff.  Do you have a friend you can borrow a 3DS/2DS from and play Pokemon on?  Like for example, one that has Pokemon Bank and would let you start a new game after transferring all their Pokemon to the Bank?

Cirtra is the only 3DS emulator out there, but it's still VERY early in development, so very low game capability and requires a very powerful computer

tgags123 : Hey, you may get 1 FPS
But it will take time for it to be a good emulator, FIRST we're gonna have to wait for the 3DS to die (aka stop getting updates)
I say in 5-10 years, your 8-year-old Win XP Laptop can handle it
I'm just curious can your laptop handle desmume?

tgags123 :

To be honest, the new 3Ds XL, I think might be worth your money. I mean, I've only seen. . . what seems like really good games come out for the 3Ds, and that's why I got one. If can get one, I would put in a strong suggestion toward it. It was worth the money to me, and I've only been playing Majora's Mask.

I'll try fire emblem awakening after I beat Majora Here. . . . I'm worried that Fire Emblem could suck me in like Paper Mario and the Thousand Year Door did. That actually kindof why I don't play many RPGs. XD

Dark knight of the blackened sun. I am Sword Legion, one of many. My mask is thick, and my armor is strong. All the more necessary in a world such as this. . .

There's only one Emulator for the system, all the others are malware.
The one that isn't, can't play commercial Games.

It's too early in the life cycle of the 3DS for there to be any legit emulators that can play most commercial games. Usually takes a few years till a decent one emerges.

That being said, now that I have upgraded to the NEW 3DS XL, I can say with confidence that it's worth the money. Lots of good games being released for the system now too. So If you have the means, I highly recommend you picking one up.

I don't think that there are any 3DS/2DS Emulators available. I remember downloading one on my computer one day and it give me a big fat virus. It wasn't even real! Maybe in the near future someone will, though.

I don't see them making one.

Even The Standard Nintendo DS emulators are buggy, and a 3DS one will be hard to get done.

It took the people of dolphin a while to make a great gamecube/Wii emulator, and I'd imagine the 3ds would be just  as much of a pain to emulate due to it having similar graphic capablities to the Gamecube.

Yeah , GamingN00B
is right. It's better to stay away from this emulator.  Just for safety of your computer or whatever you're using.

What Matthew said about it being early and development and requiring a really good computer was an understatement.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zF8qBGYrYjA

This is with an extremely powerful computer. See that 20 fps actual gameplay footage (like 5fps in Kokiri)? That's at 10x speed.

Don't get me wrong. I think you should support developers if you like their games, but I can understand if you don't feel like buying a whole console simply to play one game. You could try a flashcard instead. They're not cheaper than a normal 3DS game, but it lets you install multiple roms on one cartridge. So instead of getting a 2DS and Pokémon, you get a 2DS and access to every 3DS game close the same price.

I don't own one, or know anyone that owns one, but I've read a tiny bit about one called SKY3DS (official site: http://www.sky3ds.com/), which is a simple too use flashcard where you install the games on a micro SD card and then simply swap games by pressing a button on the cartridge. No homebrew or anything, simply install roms, put flashcard in your 2DS, press the button until you get to the game you desire to play, and then play it.

Maybe not a solution if you're low on money, but paying $240 to play all the 3DS games instead of one game for $170 could be a bit more appealing. Just make sure to read into it a bit more before buying anything.

I don't know of any good emulators that could be used for 3ds gaming. If you want to play Pokemon Omega Ruby, it would be a better idea to buy a 3DS and the game anyways because that way you can do online play.
