Summer 2015 Newsletter
The Summer 2015 Newsletter has begun rolling out today and should take up to 2-3 weeks to deliver to everyone. This newsletter basically just highlights all of the big site updates and RGR Plugin updates that have taken place over the past 6 months so there's nothing real special in it for those of you who use the site daily and read the announcements and also read the threads posted in the news forum. Just in case you don't receive it though and wanted to see what it contained, my next post will contain the contents of the newsletter.

The great thing about these newsletters is that it helps increase the site's traffic a little by reminding users that Vizzed.com still exists and by letting them know of updates that may interest them. Hopefully over the next 2+ weeks we'll see old veterans come back and an increase in traffic, which is something the site desperately needs since it has been struggling lately financially (it's definitely not cheap to pay for the site servers and RGR Plugin updates).



Help Out Vizzed = 5000 Viz! (payout may lower within a few days)
Here's how you can help out vizzed. If you ever received an email from vizzed, there's a good chance it may have gone to your junk or spam box. If you still have the email, simply mark it as safe if the option is available. In hotmail you'd click 'Wait, it's safe', in gmail and yahoo you'd click 'Not Spam' (the link to click may vary for other email providers). If you can't find any emails sent from one of the vizzed email addresses then wait until you receive the newsletter and you can do this with that. Respond to this thread once you've done this.

The reason this is so important is because vizzed.com got on hotmail's block list a few weeks which means that any email sent from a vizzed.com email address was blocked instantly. I was able to contact them and get us removed from the ban but they said that I need to increase the reputation of emails sent from the vizzed servers otherwise I could easily get back on the list. It's very important for me to stay off this ban list and all other ban lists because this basically prevents users signing up from getting their verification email which is really bad. Plus it makes it so users can't recover their password, get newsletters and other various notifications. If we can get the reputation of the vizzed email accounts high enough then the vizzed emails may no longer be automatically sent to the spam/junk box of various email providers.

Now I don't want to get into too much detail but the reason we even got added to hotmail's ban list (and possibly others) is because a bot was using the registration form of vizzed to send out tons of spam emails. Since then I've added a reCAPTCHA to the registration form to prevent bots from abusing it.

Dreamcast Games
Vizzed has nearly every Dreamcast game ever made available to be played right on the site! This was the #1 requested feature over the past 2 years. We currently have 472 games and we're constantly working on adding any games that we're missing. You can now experience games like Shenmue, Sonic Adventure, Crazy Taxi and Skies of Arcadia in full HD with cool features! You can find the full list of available DC games here:

Playstation Multiplayer Netplay
You can now play Playstation games with users on vizzed! Playstation netplay supports 2-5 players and works great but does require a somewhat powerful computer. Also, you'l need to own the 'Playstation item' which can be purchased from the Vizzed item shop to access Playstation games (but you do not need it to join a Playstation netplay session). Imagine going head to head with someone in Twisted Metal and Tony Hawk's Pro Skater or working together with someone in Fighting Force and Metal Slug! MAME & MESS Netplay
We've also added netplay support to all Arcade games and various MESS systems. It's a little trickier to use compared to the netplay for other systems since MAME/MESS netplay requires you to port forward 6805 on your router but once you've done that, you'll have an amazing experiencing playing 1000s of Arcade games that were designed for multiplayer! There are 100s of cooperative Arcade games including The Simpsons and X-Men (which is 6 players!) and 1000s of competitive Arcade games including Marvel Vs. Capcom and Tekken. You can create netplay sessions from a game's page or you can join a netplay session from the lobby which can be found here:

We have plans for more features in the near future if we can get enough donations to fund them. These features include:

Huge Viz Price Drops for Most RGR Games
In March, I reduced the Viz prices of most of the Retro Game Room games by a lot! Some of the real expensive games are now literally 10 times cheaper! No game will ever cost more than 750 Viz no matter how big it is. For more information, go here:

Vizzed Minecraft Server gets a Creative World!
The Vizzed Minecraft Server (IP: vizzed.co) has had a lot of users request a Creative World and so we've finally added one! Now you can have a place to go to create stuff using unlimited resources, invincibility and flight! For those who enjoy PvP and Survival, we still have worlds for those. Video Game Room Supports Screenshot Submitting
In January, I added the ability for users to upload screenshots to game pages of the Video Game Room. Before, users could only add screenshots to games of the Retro Game Room that they took with the RGR Plugin but now they can upload and add screenshots to any game in the VGR. Users also earn Viz and CP from uploading screenshots. More information can be found here:

Updates to Netplay Lobby and Server
The Netplay Servers have had adjustments for a better experience. The netplay lobby has had a few adjustments as well. One of those adjustments eliminates restrictions for users who want to join a netplay session. Before, a user would have to own the Playstation item to join a Playstation netplay session but now that's no longer the case. Also, before a user would have to pay Viz based on the price of the game in the netplay session but now you don't have to pay any Viz when joining the netplay session of a game you haven't paid Viz for.

New Site Design/Layout Coming Soon
I'm in the process of creating a new design and layout for the entire site. This will make vizzed easier to navigate, allow for faster page loads, give users far more features and customization options, make the site mobile friendly and so much more! I'll be making threads an announcement about this in the near future as I slowly migrate current pages to the new design/layout.

TornadoMudkip : Anyone who didn't unsubscribe to newsletters will get it. I usually only send out like 1 or 2 a year though so you wouldn't have to worry about your inbox filling up because of vizzed.

Davideo7 : I don't think I have ever had this marked as spam, but I looked for the email and saw that I was not seeing it. I made sure to add your address to the approved list in Gmail. 

I don't see how anyone cannot know about vizzed.com. It's probably the only place I know of where you can play online games for free. Whenever I can get the time I visit the website to play all kinds games and hacks. Vizzed has made a big difference in my life, and I hope it is available for me to use anytime. 

I'm good, Vizzed is unblocked for me.

Davideo7 : Thanks for the quick response, David! I was a little confused, perhaps I should have waited for the second post but alright.

I'm not a huge fan of having much mails. However your idea is really fun! I hope many old users return and see how much Vizzed has improved in a positive way.

I have just retrieved all my Vizzed notification emails out of my spam folder. Anybody know how to receive emails from Vizzed into my inbox?

I found it in my spam inbox for the 1st time in 5 years and marked it as not spam. Don't worry about sending me Viz though.

I think it's odd that this year it's a spam email since for the past couple weeks yahoo's spam filter seems to be broken because I've been getting about 10 spam emails everyday for the past couple weeks (while normally they wouldn't show up in my inbox).

Just barely received the newsletter and marked it as "not spam"! I'm using Gmail, so I was hoping it wouldn't be sent to spam for that reason, but I guess they share lists or something. Hopefully our efforts help!
