You can now upload screenshots to games in the Video Game Room that don't exist in the Retro Game Room (in other words, modern games or games that the RGR Plugin don't support). This is a feature I'm excited about and I'm happy to finally reveal it, I don't think I told anyone about it before or while I was working on it.

It's pretty simple to do. Go to a video game's page and scroll down to the screenshot area. Before you can add screenshots and edit their info, you have to upload the screenshots to the server so click the 'Click Here to Uploaded Your Screenshots' link. That page lets you upload multiple screenshots to the Vizzed.com server. After you've uploaded them, you'll be redirected to a page where you individually add each screenshot to the game's page. You can upload up to 100 screenshots at a time and the max file size of each screenshot is 2 MB. The width of the image gets resized to 120 pixels for the thumbnail and 600 pixels for the full size.

There are a few rules to uploading screenshots:
-Screenshots must be taken by you and must not exist on any other site
-Screenshots must be good quality
-Screenshots should be unique and not too similar to screenshots already submitted
-Screenshots should not have a watermark
-Screenshots should only show the game and shouldn't have anything else
-Don't take a picture of your TV screen or monitor with a digital camera or cell phone
Failure to follow these rules, especially the 1st one, can result into a ban

thing1 : You've always been able to upload videos to games in the Video Game Room, you do it the same way as you do with the Retro Game Room games, the videos get uploaded to the Vizzed YouTube account.

You need to have the screenshots available on your computer but once you do, you simply use the screenshot uploader that I mentioned in my first post.

I don't remember talking about this on my profile a while back but maybe I let it slip. I know that I've had this idea for quite a few months.

I actually took some Steam screenshots to upload, but then I found out you can't. I will have mine uploaded in no time!

darthyoda : I may also increase the CP payout of submitting screenshots. Right now you only get 0.2 CP which is incredibly low. I uploaded around 40 Minecraft screenshots that I easily invested hours into over the past 8 months and I only earned 16 CP for all of them. The question is though, how much CP should a user get? Maybe 0.5 CP? Or maybe it should depending on whether it's an RGR game or a VGR exclusive game (maybe 0.4 for RGR and 0.5 for VGR)?

Or perhaps it could depend on how many screenshots you submit for a specific game. In other words, the more screenshots you submit to the same game, the less CP you get for each additional CP. Maybe like 0.5 CP for the first 10 screenshots, 0.4 CP for the next 20 screenshots, 0.3 for the next 30 and 0.2 for all screenshots after that. This would encourage users to submit a variety of screenshots to a variety of different games.

Another idea would be that you get bonus CP for when you add additional details. So by default you'd get 0.3 CP but you'd get an additional 0.1 CP for adding a description, 0.1 CP for assigning it to a category and 0.1 CP for each character you tag (max of 0.3 CP for this). I could also combine this with my previous idea where the default value depends on how many screenshots you've added to the game.

EDIT: For now I increased the CP payout from 0.2 to 0.4. I also increased the Viz payout from 20 to 30 Viz. This will be a good temporary fix until I implement one of the above ideas.

Davideo7 : You never actually said it. I think you did mention somewhere though about a secret feature that you were you planning for the VGR, but that you refused to let is slip. 

thing1 : Yeah I was probably vague about it. I've got literally 100s of ideas for features but I rarely talk about them, I like to wait until I'm actually in the process of developing them. Sometimes I make threads about features months before working on them but that's usually only when I need feedback.

Question I just thought of: If I stream my games, can I take screenshots from the stream and upload them? Would that be aloud. 

Personally, I think this is a wonderful idea David, to be able to have non-RGR console screenshots rather than having the game screenshots from trailers and pre-release screenshots from that game's company. So that way we all can comment on those images we snapshot.

The only thing is how to do it on the Sony consoles, because I know you can on Microsoft and Nintendo consoles, but how on Sony. If there is a way, tell me, because I got a whole lot to post on and off of Vizzed..

thing1 : Depends on if you're streaming just raw game footage or not. If you have a picture of you in the screenshot then it wouldn't count.

IgorBird122 : Yeah I think it'll be fun to share screenshots we've all taken with each other and yeah, it definitely beats taking screenshots from trailers and official websites.

You'd need external hardware of some sort to capture gameplay footage of most modern game consoles.

Davideo7 : I can crop the picture to where my face is not longer in it. Or, do a stream without my face. Would that work? 

thing1 : A stream without your face would be the only option that'd work. If you were to crop it, then you'd lose a lot of the game.

I'm just curious, does uploading screenshots help Vizzed in any way? I imagine storing a bunch of pictures like this takes up space, and I'm wondering if there's any way the site benefits from it.

Thebiguglyalien : It brings in traffic and it gives the site more content. New traffic is what helps the site grow and more content helps keep the users to stick around which helps maintain the site's traffic. Content is very valuable to a site and to be honest, users submitting content to the site helps the site out more than donating actual money (depending on the content and the amount of course).

It doesn't take up that much space, the images are usually only around 100 KB each and that's nothing considering I've probably got a few 100 GB worth of storage free.

RGR pictures? I just have a great picture but I took it with my phone!!
But I showed the picture once on a thread... That didn't get any replies...
Anyways, since Miiverse allows picture uploads for games, I can not really upload pictures otherwise... And if I do want to upload a picture for Vizzed, I'd have to delete my post... It is the only way to upload 3DS and WiiU pictures for free... Is there really no chance we can use Miiverse to take pictures? If not, then I guess I won't take pictures...

I have a question. Are there any specific rules for uploading DS screenshots, since a DS has two screens? Like specifying which screen the screenshot is taken from, or anything like that?

Well, the very last rule is what forbids me of adding any screenshot to the game's page. I hope these rules only apply for adding screenshots, or do they also apply for Walkthroughs? 
(Please don't, I would lose months of work)
