For this game you will need a standard chess set.

You label the bottom horizontal row with letters and the side vertical row with numbers.

After a decision is made as to who goes first denoted by white the player moves their piece on the board and so does the person at their end.

E.g. 1. e4 e5

Then it is the other persons go and they respond with their own move and telegraph it over so that the other player moves that persons piece on their board.

2. Nf3 Nc6

This keeps repeating itself until check, becomes checkmate and the game is over.

3. Bb5 Nf6 4. d3 Bc5 5. c3 O-O 6. O-O d5 7. Nbd2 dxe4 8. Nxe4 Nxe4 9. dxe4 Qf6 10. Qe2 Bg4 11. h3 Bxf3 12. Qxf3 Qxf3 13. gxf3 Ne7 14. f4 c6 15. Bc4 exf4 16. Bxf4 Ng6 17. Bg3 Rfe8 18. Rfe1 Rad8 19. We need at least 2 players, but we can have as many as you want. If you have more than one set there is no reason why you cannot play more than 1 player at once and vice versa, but only 2 people can be in any one game at anyone time and must play until checkmate is called.

All games must be played here so we can follow the games. Just indicate which user you are playing each time so that they know who you are speaking to and then can move the appropriate piece if you are engaged in a dialogue of games with multiple people.

Well I'm not in the mood for a game right now but it would be much easier to use chess.com no?

You can just make an account, add each other and play. You can even leave and come back o make a move whenever.

It just seems it'll become ridiculously spammy if all we have is a thread where it's "e6, e8" "d7, d11" etc.

*Start the game.
*Make one move
*Wait on your opponent's move
*Flip the table.
*Leave the table with pride and win the game.

And thus, that is the way chess is played, flip the game board and win it.

cnw64 : Yes, but that would be too easy.

There is also pure chess for the PS3 and the PS4 if anybody is willing to play it online. To be honest it is an ok game but there is hardly any competition. I only got it because of the flash sale was going on. Pure Pool from the same company is greater even if it isn't chess.
