I got an email today from Nintendo saying that I could claim a free 3-day pass to E3 since I'm part of their Nintendo Creators Program (where they share some of the ad revenue of your Nintendo-related youtube videos with you even though it really should all go to you to begin with).

So anyway, I claimed my ticket, but I'm in Pennsylvania and E3 is in LA and it'll be expensive to fly out there and find a place to stay and there's not much time to plan. So I'm not actually sure if I'll go. Even still, I'm somewhat excited to have the opportunity anyway. When I was younger I always wanted to go, though now that I'm older I don't care quite as much.

...but, yeah, just... kinda... bragging about that here. xD

What?!? Oh man, I would LOVE to go to E3! You're lucky. Hopefully one day I can... maybe next year even. :3 Still that's such an exclusive event, this is probably a once in a lifetime opportunity. I hope you get to take advantage of it!

It would make for an awesome YT video if you could discuss what you participated in while there (demos etc.) and could score some opportunities to get footage of it. I know Cameras aren't typically allowed, but I wonder if you could get one in with a dev's permission to use it on their stuff for a YT channel? If so you're talking big views probably, and some sub's along the way more than likely.

That's really cool! I've always wanted to go to E3, but just like you, I live far from Los Angeles. I think you should go, definitely! It's a great opportunity that you should take advantage of, just like Eirinn said.

While I believe the Creators program to be like stabbing a person and kindly explaining that since you made the wallet they are using you should get some of the money in it, it's good to see Nintendo at least providing some Band-Aids for the wound. As for E3, if you do end up going, my only advice would be to take the hype with a grain- or actually, a spoonful of- or maybe a cup of... *ahem* take just about everything said with as much salt as you possibly can. It's a hard reality to face, but a lot of those creators would be stabbing your corpse if they thought money would come out.

You guys are kinda convincing me. I just looked into couchsurfing.com for a possible place to stay and it looks like there are quite a few people accepting guests in LA, so that could work. Then it'd just come down to getting a plane ticket and some of my facebook friends suggested doing a gofundme page. I hate taking people's money though (but not enough to not take it lol). I actually do have the money to afford the plane ticket, but I don't have a lot of income so it would pretty much destroy my savings. I still haven't totally decided, but I'm leaning more towards going than I was.

Linkums : I can't say much for how fiscally responsible it would be, but it does sound like a really fun event to go to, and you have an opportunity to go to it that not many people will get. If you can do it, and not eat out of the dumpster of McDonalds for a month, then you should try it.

You should totally apply for Machinima partnership and make as many videos as you can.
