Runescape is way better because it's still fun, but it's free.

How should this be in Pokemon?

I say World of Warcraft, because there's more worlds, you can do raids, use a some weird ass pet. And the price is alright.

Well, yeah. runescape is alot cheaper to be a member ,and you can do alot more skills and stuuf in it to. Also there is WAY more items in runescape.

All of which you have to pay for later. WOW has beautiful graphics, raids, good interacting, good guilds, good pets, and actually can update quests.

I think runescape is better, because even though it doesn't have graphics there are a lot of things you can do for free.

Any player of WoW has to acknowledge Jagexs use of Java in their games. I have to hand it to RuneScape for superiority in price range and accounts created and played with respect to that.

Although, this argument is very liberal, seeing as both sides have pros and cons, and they are unrelated with the exception of being MMORPGs.

However, I would not pay to play a game for 30 bucks a month, and playing a free game and expecting the same that WoW gives is ludicrous. Of course the games graphics will stink! At least it is free.

i would have to say world of war craft sure you have to pay but there is so much to do in that game

Runescape is like a WoW starter kit. Play Runescape for a while, but move on to WoW and see how amazing it is. Thousands of hours of content, tons of weapons, raids, pets, quests and lots of events.


World of Warcraft is much better. RS is like its little brother.

I've played both & I'd have to say I liked WoW more. They both have their pros & cons though.

WOW by far. Sure it costs to play, but it's a MUCH better game overall and it continues to improve.

The only thing that I like in Runescape is that its free to play.

RuneScape. I just got membership (username: Shane The Go) And I love it. I had free to play on it for like 3 years (username: S knight 70) and I thought that was good, cheap membership just makes it SO much better! GO RUNESCAPE!

True, but the problem is, the condensed style of it being in Java and browser-based wrecked the potential for mass-raids and a ton of other features that WoW can easily execute. RS is the gateway drug to MMO's basically.

IMO I hate the whole MMORPG genre but Id play Runescape over WOW any day. I play a little bit of FPS with some friends every now and then, I might play some old SNES games for memories sake but I feel that people who play WOW a lot need to get a life.

And by a lot, I hope you mean 2,000+ hours. Because people who play a lot of WoW DO HAVE LIVES. It's not like all WoW players are balding, socially-inept losers who have no chance at success in the real world.

Case in point: For example, This particular hardcore WoW player is an award-winning, young animator and Synthpop musician.

Not to be a total fanboy (as I haven't played WoW in 2 years), but making a blanket statement like that is kind of annoying.

I would also like to add RWT (Real-World Trading) into the discussion, and I feel that RuneScape's measures over it may seem drastic but seems like the right thing to do since you don't actually own anything in the game except your username.

WoW, on the other hand, does next to nothing to stop RWT, and gives away virtual items for real money. Besides this being the owners' choice, it is not a legit way to play any game honorably, and anyone who has bought something in a virtual game which could otherwise be earned through hard work should be ashamed.

This whole RWT debate goes very far. It includes identity theft so I am not going to go into details, but Jagex dealt with it professionally.

Agreed. I played WoW for about a year and a half and I'm married with a kid and I've graduated University. That's a pretty bad stereotype for a game with millions of people playing it. I can recall playing with a huge age-range of people too. From 10 to 50 and in between.

You guys HAVE heard of WoW FREE servers, haven't you? Man. I thought I was late jumping on the bandwagon when I hooked up Everquest to a Free Server, and here are WoW players who've never heard of Free Servers! Amazing!

yes wow has free servers but u got downloaded it and wow is about 25+ gb game i sorry to say but that it just ridiculous amount space for 1 game.
Runescape is far better the wow now with there latest upgrade in graphics also runescape got more items more options to do things u do raids in pvp world or bounty world. runesscape got over 150+ worlds to choose from.
only thing the runescape lacks compared to wow is the characters or avatars w/e u prefer to call it.

There new game out now it's mixed between runescape and wow.
it's called runes of magic.
from what i heard some the developer's from both company got together to make this game.
this another game like wow called Gates Andaron apparently u do more there on gates then wow.

also runescape only cost 5 bucks month 60-70 bucks for a year maybe less not sure now.
also runescape u teleport every where u basicly need to get if u get ur skills high enough. Runescape u get pet's dog's/cats/birds others if ur member u also get house u also can build ur own house. some time this year there coming out with another skill. also skills caped that show off effects once u get a skill to 99 to prove what u accomplished,also it's now in stunning HD.
wow sorry to say but it's becoming out dated.

Worlds: Have you counted Warcraft's servers lately? 241 official world servers, and COUNTLESS free servers make Warcraft simply WIN this category.

Graphics: The "HD graphics" in RS are way worse than the worst graphics in WoW and Runes of Magic. I can play WoW spanned across three monitors.

Item management: The ground in Runescape is littered with trash. In WoW, the ground is clean. Would you rather play a game in a trash bin, or in a pristine world free from trash?

You-still-have-to-pay: In Runescape, like in WoW, the best stuff comes from being a member. And yes, WoW has a free trial.

House: You know, if you want a house, get HabboHotel. If you want to play a GAME, with a STORYLINE, go with Warcraft.

Skills: They come out with skills and classes and races all the time for Warcraft. Remember the DeathKnight? The Draenai and the Blood Elves?

Achievements: WoW has them. BURN!
