There's an expression Never judge a book by his cover
but when you are in a store and see a good cover you can think the game is really good
other times is the opposite but anyway, here's the list of what I think are the Worst game covers ever made

1- Mega man (NES) 
Mega man first Nes games are very know led for they Horrible covers
The first one is the worst one, mega man is not entirely blue having some Yellow colors
and I didn't look like a little child like in every game looks more like an Adult
Also mega man is wearing a gun... Not his M.buster, Now in what the heck is the 
designer thinking.



2-Phalanx (SNES)
Is...... a ship game???? Ok look the cover is and weird old man 
touching the banjo, so WHAT THE HECK, IS DOING AN OLDMAN TOUCHING 
THE BANJO IN A SPACE SHIP GAME????!!! 



3- Black Belt (Sega)

Really? This cover is so basic is just a leg doing a kick
whoa! This cover have a lot of action or not?



4-Fire n' Ice
You can see a cover with fire an ice with a simple design
but the stupid was put a giant tag over it warning is to addictive



5-Pacman (Atari 400/800)
Since when? Pacman have body? a subnormal face in a giant head? 



Wait! a second! Pacman is the lost brother of Pop's

6-Metro cross
Simply the worst cover of all, Anyone can make a joke with the name "Metro" and the Skater but better not say it

   Yup, those are all spot on. I love how the Black Belt one doesn't even have the leg on the edge of the box, so it's just kind of hovering there. Another bad one is the Ghost House boxart for the Master System.

   Also, let's not forget that Mega Man 2's box art was bad as well. Sure, it wasn't as laughable, but in a way it could be argued as being worse, considering they already went through this with the first game, and again gave him a gun.

It's like they hired a professional picture making company and gave them a one paragraph slip of paper on what the game was about plus 3 - 4 pictures straight from a camera, either that or the artist was trying it's more "creative" side.

Mega Man game covers. Just Mega Man game covers. They are just terrible !

WiiNin213 : They're not all terrible, but the first few were awful. I think the covers got better around Mega Man 5 or 6, though. Also, the Mega Man X covers were fine. But, when Capcom made Mega Man 9 and 10, they wanted to create the nostalgia of the NES days. So that meant more terrible box art! Honestly, just look at the box art and compare it to Mega Man 2 and 3. It's at the same level of awful.

ZeroTails : Mega man covers for 1 and 2 are horrible, I didn't understand why
the game covers changes and don't let the original japans one, but about mega man cover 
the Europe version is better, but still not compared to the original japans

Dark sword Z : Totally in agreement there, Dark. I prefer the Japanese version from the American version almost all the time when it comes to Mega Man.

Um, this is definitely more than interesting. I like how both of the Mega Man games claim to have "high resolution graphics", but can't even get the cover to be good enough. That just makes me wanna sigh.  That isn't cool. At all.

Based on the cover for Phalanx I'd say it is a game about a ship attacking the evil banjo playing elder one before he destroys the universe with bluegrass.

"Zillion" for the Sega Master System.
The Game is Fun. Hard. But Fun.
It was based on an old "Anime".
Odd that the thing did not have good art on the box. The show is beautiful.
So is the game.

I have two, and they are both NTSC cover's. So, no japanese covers this time! in fact one of them is a baseball cover.



The turbografx had some awful boxart, and this is one of the more awful ones.
Just look at it. The end.

Granted this is a PC game, but we can't forget:

Clayton 2 : Oh, man that is absolutely hilarious! I have never ever seen that one, have you ever played the game? I have never.

imamonster : I haven't had the privilege to play the actual game. I don't think there's much to miss out on, as it never received very good reviews.

Clayton 2 : I see, I'm gonna watch some video's on it, Thanks for showing it me. Perhaps i'll even burn the game.

Personally, the covers for the original Mega Man games kind of disturb me. There's just something about his face that's really disturbing...

Wow that first Mega Man cover looks awful. I wonder how that ugly design made it on that game? That's a perfect example of "you can't judge a book by it's cover".
