I'm not sure if it's just me, but whenever I go to get a haircut I end up getting extremely frustrated by the people there.  Just because of things like, someone who got there after me going before me, and asking me repeatedly how to cut my hair when I say just a 4 size everywhere. When someone says a 4 (size of the razor and how much hair it cuts.) everywhere, doesn't that mean that I want a 4 everywhere? No, stop asking me if I want my bangs to stay or want the top of my head a 5 or whatever. The worst is the people who check-in online. No offense to those who do this of course, but I feel like doing that doesn't even work and then the people that do it get mad that they actually had to wait to get their haircut.

*sigh* This isn't a rant so I'll turn it over to you guys. Does getting a haircut annoy you in any way?

Yes,it annoys me as well,I prefer to have my hair long most of the times, but then it annoys me by getting my eyes all the time, but when you go to a barber shop, you always have to explain everything,I once had a haircutter shave me near bald when I only wanted a little trim! lol Though yeah long hair for me is more preferable, even though I look a tad better with short hair, just cause my face is easier to see. But long hair is so much better to style! So yeah, getting a hair cut annoys me mostly, cause I just don't like having my hair cut too short. lol

I personally like haircuts except when it is cold for obvious reasons. I actually don't know any haircut terms...someone asked me about two steps or some crap like that and I was like huh? I actually have been going to the same lady since I was 11. I'm 24 now... Every time I go there she knows exactly what I want and she charges a very fair and cheap price and she is just a badass hair stylist.

I also get haircuts for another reason and this is weird but ever since I was a kid, towards the middle or the end of a haircut I get a wave of euphoria. It is super weird, I just start getting a huge stress free moment and my whole body relax and I'm just kind of like dddaaaaahhhh this feels awesome... And this is with anyone who is cutting my hair unless they are bad at it. My haircut lady thinks it's weird as hell too. It is one of the reasons why I get haircuts lol because it is the only time I get such a distinct feeling. Oh yeah, haircuts make me look good. Almost forgot about that one heh.

jack3604 : They may continue asking you because it is extremely unusual to have one level all over your head.  Most people get hair slightly shorter on the sides and have it blended in so they don't look like tennis balls with one fuzz all over the place.

Me?  I love haircuts.  I go to a barbershop that is just guys.  They have a nice table made out of old hockey sticks.  They have beer and coffee available if you have to wait in turn and it's free beer.  They have nice tvs.  The talk is for men and we're all grown adults.  I live in Ann Arbor, where the University of Michigan is located, and the local bigwigs get their hair cut too at this place.  I've met deans, athletes, and so on.  They even have a sports book for betting on games and the guy that owns the place finds ways to get tickets for Michigan and Detroit sports.

Haircuts are social events.  You go there to engage in conversation with others, talk politics, sports, the weather, local news, and getting a haircut turns from a chore into a very pleasant event.  There are guys that go there and just hang out and drink beer for an hour or two.

They also do the hot oil straight razor neck and back-of-neck shave.  If you haven't had that happen, it's insanely awesome.  The women dig the smoothness of the your skin when you're done.

warmaker : The reason that I get 4 everywhere though is because I'm a swimmer and I need my hair short so that I don't have to wear a cap. Yeah, I know, it sounds stupid, but for some reason I just can't get the hang of caps even after 12 years of swimming I always end up hitting the air pocket between my ear and the cap flat on the water making an extremely painful ringing noise.

As for as the sports haircut place, we have those down here in Florida, and it is even a franchise (it might even be the same one). It's called Sports Clips I think. Personally I don't pay attention to professional sports, it just doesn't interest me, so you can probably guess that going to one of those barber shops is very awkward for me also being 17 and I don't want to talk to people double my age about sports , plus I can't legally drink.

I don't go to a barbershop because of my haircut lady but barbarshops will have a spot for every guy. There is usually mutual respect and you'll likely be the 'kid' and that is not a bad thing at all. Have you ever seen a bunch of women in a salon? They don't all talk about one thing. Visit a barbarshop and you'll realize it is an hour well spent if there is a line. I personally haven't been to one that serve beer but maybe that's because I'm in CA but the point is I don't even go to barbarshops but I still like them. It is almost like going to a bar without the drinks, girls, and pool table...to get a haircut. I guess it isn't like a bar afterall but it is still fun. I actually am not interested in a lot of sports either but as we all know, guys aren't boring and we have more things to talk about than just fast cars and kate upton.

Before I decided to go back to short hair, yes. I would have to have them cut off 1/8 to 1/4 of an inch at a time, to try to get the look that I wanted, since I was terrible at describing it. And I would not let them use anything but scissors.

Now, my past few haircuts, I have been keeping it short, I was raised in a military family, so I am used to getting what we call a " medium and tight " or a " high and tight ". I went to the barber last week to get a haircut, and told them I wanted a medium and tight, and they had no idea what I was talking about, since I am about 3 and a half hours away from the closest military base. So, now, I have to remember that I want a 2 on the top, and a 1 on the side.

Why you have to make things difficult for me, haircut people?

Whell, it's actually annoying others that I haven't gotten a haircut recently.

I like my hair at about 4 1/2 inches thank you very much. I've had it at 1/4 inch all my life so, it's nice for a change.

jack3604 : I don't think that's stupid. When I was swimming (just a bit in high school) I never could wear a cap either. I don't really know why, I just didn't like it. And only about half of the guys on my team wore one unless they were being forced to wear one. So don't worry, you're not alone in that!

I don't really like getting my hair done either, but then I don't really like people I don't know touching me. Plus they always seem to forget there's a PERSON attached to all that hair; one took a razor and razor cut it so it would be blended well-I liked the way it looked but it hurt my skull, the way she was jerking my head around. I honestly had tears in my eyes when she finished, and I don't cry in public. Ever.

The worst experience I had was when I went to this cosmetology school. They offer super cheap haircuts done by students. I don't have a really fussy or elaborate style; I have the asian poof hair, and it's not that hard to cut really. So I figured, what the heck, give them some experience. The student actually did a fairly good job, as far as I could tell-I was good with it. Then the teacher came around, started fluffing up my hair, and grabbed a pair of scissors and started snipping, telling the student she needed to be more careful, even, yadayada. Long story short, she cut like another half an inch of hair off my head, left me looking like a...well, kind of like this:

funny haircut man obviously not me, but that's about the look on my face when the teacher stepped away.

I'd like to not get a haircut for the next seven years, and I wouldn't care if my hair went down past my shoulders. I used to think that haircuts are terrible (This one day I got a surprise haircut, my hair was cut down to half an inch, and I cried soooo much over it.), but now they're not that bad. I mean, I still don't like my hair being that short, and I probably won't ever like my hair like that. I'm fine though if my hair is moderately short, none of that 'practically no hair' haircuts. I'm still growing my hair out though, and it won't be any time soon until I get a haircut.

I love to get a haircut!  I guess I'm a sucker for the attention.  When the barber asks what I'd like to have done, I always say "I'm not sure, but you're the expert- I trust your opinion."

I just hate getting haircuts. Until about November 2013, I had to get a haircut every month for about 6 years, so my hair was always so short and before that, my hair was always long and I hated having barely no hair. I have been growing my hair on my own terms now ever since then and I only get a haircut when I want to know, so I'm living the life. Most of the reason I hated it was because they wouldn't even bother asking what I wanted, they just cut my hair the way my parents told them to.

Getting a haircut doesn't annoy me at all. I think the reason for that is because I always get a buzz-cut and I think that kind of haircut is easier to do than others so it makes things a lot easier.

It really does annoy me. I have... Special... Hair that is hard to cut and it always finds a way to get messed up, I really hate how it does that. It's quite annoying.

I've never really had a problem with getting a haircut. Of course, I don't care too much about my hair or haircuts in general as long as it doesn't end up looking terrible.

The crazy thing is that I don't really like having long hair because it does drive me nuts to have long hair, but for some strange reason, everyone else does like having long hair. Not realy sure why they like it though.

Honestly no. Sometimes, but not always. Mainly my mom will shave my hair into a Mohawk for me and it really doesnt bother. Of course, the one time it hurt when she was cutting it for real.
