I'm looking for a good anime, if anyone has any that fit the criteria below, please reply:



-Must have a decent plot

-Not too much fan service, not that I don't like it but it's annoying after awhile

-Interesting

-Preferably subs, but I don't mind dubs

-Everyone should look their age, as opposed to, say, a 17 year old looking like they're 10

-Cool art style

-If it gets crazy, the crazy should go all the way.

Shows I'm not interested in:

Anything like school days.

Anything like highschool of the dead(fan service galore).

Anything like sports or school animes.

I should be able to satisfy some of your tastes. 

Try Steins;Gate, Btooom!, Robotics; Notes, Code Geass, Fate/Zero, Full Metal Panic! (some school, but it really isn't a school anime until Fumoffu, and it still is really quite exceptional), Guilty Crown, Hataraku Maou-sama! (This is more of a comedy than dark, but you should really see it anyway), Higurashi no Naku Koro ni, Psycho-Pass, Zetsuen no Tempest.

You really can't go wrong with anything in this list.

Tokyo Ghoul I have just finished it's a good plot *subbed only* great music and the characters are really good.
Future Diary/ Mirai Nikki somewhat disappointed me in the end but it still was a good anime overall the story was well done until the end
Angel Beats isn't exactly a school anime persay but it's very interesting and you might like it.
And after watching naku koro ni you might want to watch the second season as it gets more of a mystery than horror and turns really awesome *it's a very crazy anime*
Attack on titan it's pretty good it just earned a dubbed version it's a good anime
Shiki is a very interesting horror anime it's not too scary but it was well made great plot the art is great the characters are good as well.
Corpse Party - Tortured Souls If you want crazy crazy horror this is it I would play the game first as this anime is based of the game but it's a 4 episode long anime that's just very freaky.

School Days was such a drop out I bet the guy who made it was like screw it make the ending super random and the show saddening

Thank you to everyone, and also, as to whoever mentioned the end to school days(name memory problems I know I'm terrible) go find the clip a youtuber called Gigguk made, it involves that scene and basically parodies the "dear sister" skit from Saturday night live, and the OC.

The first one I am going to recommend is one that you should watch in Dub as it has a legendary Dub. That anime is Cowboy Bebop.
I'd also throw in a anime called Big O. I've heard great things about that one.
Scrapped Princess is a really good anime that not many people in the west know about.
Fooly Cooly A.K.A  F.L.C.L
Neon Genesis Evangelion is also a very good classic anime.
My last one on this small list is Log Horizon
I hope something in that list you find to peak your interest.

I'm sure you've already tried watching these, but I'm gonna list my two favorite (and most obvious animes): Naruto/Shippuden & Dragon Ball/Z.

Both are very unique and entertaining. Dragon Ball & Dragon Ball Z aren't really plot heavy, but they are still good and it'll keep you interested. I know you said you prefer subs, but for this one I recommend the dubbed version (the ORIGINAL, with the music composed by Bruce Faulconer [whose music is legendarily awesome, by the way]; don't watch that DBZ Kai crap). Naruto & Naruto Shippuden actually do have a great storyline and it is VERY interesting. It's a very smart show with a lot of realism. The fight scenes are incredible and the music is wonderful (I recommend sub for this one). The manga ended very recently, but the anime is still going and it's very good, in my opinion. I hope you find the animes you're looking for!

These are the only ones I think that fits with your taste. Just a little warning, some of these have heart-warming and/or devastating endings.

Some good animes I know are Dragonball Z, Narato, Bleach,
Attack on Titan and Inuyasha.

I would recommend Darker then Black, Tokoyo Ghoul, Steins gate, Kill la kill, nanatsu no taizai,Fate/Stay Night ,Fate/Zero,Lupin the 3rd, Detective Conan,kuros***suji,Kiseijuu: Sei no Kakuritsu,Log Horizon, Code geass, Full metal alchemist. Only ones i can think of off the top of my head.

I was always partial to Princess Mononoke, Ninja Scroll, and Fullmetal Alchemist. Keep in mind the first two I mentioned are movies, not shows.

If it hasn't been suggested already, I'm going to suggest Persona 4 The Animation. This is one of my overall best animes of all time.

One Piece will keep you going for a while but I'm not sure you'll like it. It is pretty amazing though.
Akame Ga Kill and Sword Art Online have some of the best stories of any anime I have seen yet. SAO has some school in it, but it's not bad. The art in Akame Ga Kill is similar to Hellsing too. Lots of blood.

emptysenji : Well, I'm not sure whether you'll like it or not, but here's a couple I've watched. Megaman Nt Warrior, Megaman Nt Warrior: Axess, Megaman: Star force (not sure you'll want all that megaman!) and Kirby, Right Back At ya!

Ignore everything and watch Nagi no Asukara as Kuti_Kat said before. In my opinion, it's the best anime ever. However, my second favorite anime is Sakurasou no Pet na Kanojo, also already recommended (by the same person). Both are definitely worth a shot, without a doubt.

A anime I would recommend is Fist of the North Star it is one of my favorite anime's of all time and let me describe it in a way so you don't get spoiled.







Imagine Chuck Norris and Bruce Lee doing potara fusion from DBZ and set in a post apocalyptic world where strength rules and the fused Chuck Norris and Bruce Lee is the protector of the weak.



Trust me you need to watch this it is a very good anime and the movies are great as well.
