djinn8345 (aka lilwildwolf21 on vizzed) streams almost every night here:
http://www.hitbox.tv/djinn8345

Now the question is, how could he improve his streams? What is he doing wrong and what could he do differently?

Any honest opinions would be appreciated.

Davideo7 : Um....I can't really watch the streams like a used too....djinn said that he made afternoons just for me, because I can't make night ones. Though I did used to make the night ones, the time for that has changed and its on a later time...I really don't want to miss djinns streams, and I really enjoy the fun on there. I can't even play bomberman or some other games that, I did kind of played, back then. I can't even see yours anymore David. Remember how I made a show for that everytime? :/

but that's my opinion, because I'm all the way over in the UK sadly....so its like in and out for me. I do feel sometimes sad thinking of this..apart from that I don't really see any other problem...I do enjoy the games that he streams as, each are different.

This is why I wanna move to the usa and for other reasons as well. Because as people always say....good things always happen when I am in bed. :/

I would probably be a little more inclined to tuned in if they had an app for the 360, or if he held tournaments or played games on consoles, instead of just games from the R G R.

Davideo7 : The one problem Ive had was the fact that The challenges cost so much wishes! If he could lower it a bit, that would be great!

Almost as thing1 said, a variety of games would make the stream more interesting and would welcome more viewers.
Also I thought that twitch was better than hitbox, what brings you to use that instead?

I don't know how much improving can be done at the moment, since I like the system he has in place already. I'm not 100% sure what Monday's and Wednesday's are dedicated to, but I know Tuesdays are coop night, Thursdays are challenge night, and Fridays are request night. His wishes system seems pretty fair too (I could probably explain how pretty much everything works in his stream if I wanted to, but it'd be more fun if you went to his stream and watched him).

If there was one thing I think he could do better it's to let me beat him in Tecmo Bowl and Bomberman I man add me as a mod of his stream. But in all seriousness, I probably would recommend dedicating one day every couple of weeks or every month or so to a "tournament", where viewers could compete in a game in a bracket style tournament, and the winner of said tournament would win a wish prize or some Viz or something like that. That would make the stream a little more interactive, could increase traffic coming into his stream (by maybe making an announcement about it or something) and giving more people a chance to be involved.

Other than a couple of other suggestions that I have and am too lazy to post, I don't really know what could be done better right now (probably because I don't watch enough streams to properly criticize his stream.

Now this took me a while to figure this out especially when I love Djinn's streams in general and I am there practically every time when he streams. I had to think deeply into this.

-Maybe a signal, warning, or banner indicating that he knows that he is muted. Some people at times often get confused when Djinn mutes himself is intentional or not. This is not really a urgent one since I think that this suggestion is just a minor one.

-Updating his wishes info box under his live stream link. I think that this is a little more important to me because Djinn does have a point system and it is the currency of his live stream. Sure that wishes are gained and used for various purposes but they are very vague and general. How about putting the amount of wishes that can be used for what purpose?
Like for example:
-30 wishes = a request for a game besides Friday Request Night
-250 wishes = a game challenge for Djinn on Thursday Challenge Night
-1000 wishes = 3 weeks of a user's own featured emote
(Something like this format^)
There are loyal and daily viewers like myself who are in the chat that know how the currency works and how the live stream is but there are also those handful of new people that stop by and sometimes come more than once, who are curious and wondering about how the wishes system goes. It can be rather annoying at times when Djinn has to keep repeating himself about how his currency works and all that.

-I noticed that there is no donations accepted button anymore and yet, his info box says that there is. That's a bit misleading and I don't think you would want to do that to viewers who are willing to donate in the future.

-If he is planning to keep his themed nights like Thursday Challenge Night and Friday Request Night, he should add that to his info box under the stream. A description in writing about them would be better as well.

-The mods in general are often dead and not watching the chat. The chat is still going good and friendly in overall so far but if there's a time when someone causes a problem, there has to be at least a mod in witness of the problem and is able to take care of the problem. Having no active mods can be a problem.

lilwildwolf21 : I hope that this will help you!

I will agree with thing on this one, I know RGR is his thing, but if he threw in a regular game or a PC game every now and then, it could be more entertaining overall.

I understand what you're saying, Enii, but the fact that you haven't been there, it's tough to really use your input as a way to help Djinn. Just saying that he's fine isn't cutting it anymore because he's not getting new viewers so if we can give him some constructive ways to change, that could help his stream to grow the way that he really needs it to.

From LadyLevi (not having a Vizzed account) :

Djinn keeps saying the chat is too quiet but when the chat is talking, Djinn isn't paying attention and ignoring questions asked, anyways. People leave figuring they're being ignored. I see new people come on, ask a question then leave because no one is responding to them. If Djinn doesn't have time for the chat. A lot of people feel "why should we stick around?". Another problem I have is the time changes. He postpones or delays the chat so no one knows when he's coming on so it's wasting their time waiting for him. If it's a true emergency, it's understandable but if it's because of something like eating, that could be done earlier out of respect for the people on stream. Consistency would be very appreciated. If you're going to advertise times you're on, it's good to stick to those times so people aren't wasting their time.

From Foxy:

If Djinn really wants this to be successful, he's got to change his attitude. Nobody likes to watch a negative person. On stream, you are being an example, not only to yourself, but to the people around you and the people that support you. Even if you're not having the best of days, you give it 150%. It's tough when Djinn is suggested a game and you feel like he doesn't try his best at it. He might be but because of his attitude, you can't tell. It feels like Djinn doesn't even want to be there.
To add on a bit, when something competitive is going on, the attitude changes a whole lot and Djinn becomes a lot angrier. It's something to work on but it really makes us uncomfortable. If Djinn could take it as it's just a game, that would be a huge improvement. Better sportsmanship. Win or Lose.

That's our take on it. We're just posting the truth on what we see and we hope that Djinn will take it to heart. Hope Djinn knows this is constructive and not a put down. We really want him to succeed and make this the best thing ever.

zanderlex :
thing1 : You guys are not really in enough of his streams to know this. Most of the times he doesn't always play rgr games and I know this because I am there most of the time or sometimes. So he does a variety of playing new games, and not just rgr games. I think you might come in the wrong times of when he does stream an rgr. And missing a game that he once previously played which was not an rgr.

ghostfishy : There are times that troubles do brew when I am around, so I try to stop it. From other times. When I do get up early, I don't always talk on the chat but watch and see if anything happens. I'm surprised as foxy is mostly on the chat who should be tending to those things.

I don't exactly have any problems with Djinn's stream as of late... since I come from the UK, I can't exactly make it to all of his streams, but I greatly enjoy what streams I do get to watch. He's really entertaining and... other things.

I think maybe, the only Issue I have is that he doesn't have some sort of space on his page saying a Schedule. I know he says it almost every time he ends the stream, but it's nice to have that assurance to know when he streams, so I'm not leaving my page on all the time. This is mainly due to my laziness not converting... whatever Time zone Djinn is (I think it's eastern. Brain doesn't catch it much) to GMT. Just that and I think I'd be completely fine with the stream. (I'm not expecting it to be added, but it's... a suggestion, if you like)

Anyway... Ramblings of me done I guess.

MechaMento : The reason why I went with Hitbox instead of Twitch is because of a number of things. One, is because the lag between chat and streamer is about 5 to maybe 8 seconds long might even be shorter then that. As I have had some people say it was down to 3 to 5 seonds. Two, the video quality seems to be better with Hitbox then with Twitch. I have less people telling me that they are having problems watching my stream on Hitbox then on Twitch. It still happens but most of the time they just need to refresh the page and it works for them the rest of the night. Three, I'm partnered with Hitbox. Something that I probably would never be able to achieve with Twitch, and they offer the same kind of deal that Twitch does. Four I have more people watching me on average every night with Hitbox then I ever did with Twitch.

As for everyone else that post on here. Thank you so much for your post this should help me a whole lot more. The ultimate goal for me is to make my stream #1 on hitbox

As for everyone else that post on here. Thank you so much for your post this should help me a whole lot more. The ultimate goal for me is to make my stream #1 on hitbox

This is what I feel could be improved:

1. If he needs to deal with his family when they're acting up, he needs to mute the microphone before he starts yelling at them. I understand needing to deal with family, but do the viewers really need to hear him threaten his kids? Same goes for the wife; she's more than audible in the background when it's her time to handle them during his streams.

2. Pay more attention to the chat. As of late, he's been more focused on playing the game than he has interacting with the chat, and this has worsened as of when the video recording competition started. Speaking of...

3. When Djinn plays a game he's never played before, if he doesn't immediately like it, he just sits there in silence (mostly), halfheartedly playing the game and not really trying his best. If it doesn't look like he's having fun, it's not going to be entertaining for the viewers, and he's more than likely going to lose new viewers coming in curious to who he is and what's he's doing, and possibly even lose long-time viewers like myself.

4. If he's not enjoying his own events (like Challenge Thursdays), why hold them? From yesterday's stream, it sounded like he didn't want those of us who came in late (though still during his active challenges) to issue challenges to give them; he just wanted to move on so he could do more recording for the video recording competition.

5. When the missus takes over the stream while Djinn puts the boys to bed, she seems like she doesn't want to be there, and only seems to be having any sort of fun when she's playing Mario with Foxy (and probably only because Foxy does most of the playing). If she doesn't want to be on, she shouldn't be made to take over the stream; better to just have video game remixes playing over an away screen instead.

As for any advice I can give, aside from resolving the above, I have just one piece of advice. Provided he has time, he should go watch a number of the more popular casters on Twitch, such as Crumps2, Spamfish, ProfessorBroman, Ezekiel_III, etc., and see what they do right and what they do wrong and see how he can incorporate what they do right into his own style to make the stream his own. And I do mean a number of them, not just one or two.

Being a streamer is much like owning a business; you create a brand, you have to own that brand, as that brand is what represents you, what represents your community, and (in this specific case) what represents Vizzed, just like the brand a business creates is what represents that business and all of its employees and consumers of that brand. Create something unique, something you can say you're proud of, and you'll go far.

There's not much he can really do, outside of just being more entertaining in general, which isn't something anyone can really help him with. It needs to come from within and be organic. Everyone is entertaining in their own way, and he has to find what makes him the best version of him possible.

What he is doing, is he is streaming to a very niche group of gamers. This isn't a problem, but a lot of the people here would probably rather play the games rather than watch someone else.

I'd watch him more myself if I didn't have three or four streamers that I prefer. There's only so much time in a day, and I usually max out my time before I even think about watching his streams.

I am not really good at given advice.. but

I agree with Sonikku about the family issues and making sure of muting the stream before the yelling.

The yelling at the boys would dis-interest new people checking out the stream.

Thank you all for your well needed input on how to make my stream better. I will revisit this page constantly to see what I can change now and what I can work on. I know most of you don't like to deal with religion. However, I do feel truly blessed to have such a strong following (fellowship). Thank you all for the support and love that you all have shown me. None of this would be able to happen without you guys. So if I have not said it enough THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU so much. Here is to becoming No. 1 on Hitbox!!!!!

Well here are a list of options to help improve the stream ill keep it very basic

1.) Alert system allowing pops ups during the stream about 99.99% of the ppl want to see their donations displayed

2.) Commentary about the game that is being played and do a ask a question scene where the viewers ask questions to the streamer/mods.

3.) Make a border to decorate the stream a bit making it unique.

4.) Scenes use differnet scense when going afk or offline etc.

5.) purchase a noise condencer mic to eliminate background nosies or use hotkeys some viewers may find it unprofessional and disturbing.

6.) use MIRC with custom scripts to make unique bots to make the channel stand out from others on hitbox.

ps.) i myself find Djiin8345 a great streamer especially for his activity he very communicative to the viewers and makes everyone welcome
