It only really occurred to me recently, that no one I know ever clicks web adverts, but some people must, otherwise they wouldn't exist.
Have you ever seen a web advert and actually been compelled to click it?
Due to the really poor choice of advertising most sites make, I automatically assume every advert will be some form of scam unless it's an advert for a well known company. I never click any of them.
What would tempt you to click an add?

I have ad block so I cant use any kind of ads even on youtube videos. I think its better that way so people wont get slow down from ads popping up every random time.

I never click adverts, because I have AdBlock.

I can't even remember the last time I saw an ad.

I actually never see any adverts, like leggyme, I use AdBlock, it may even be the same addon in the Chrome/ Firefox browser. I really don't like ads, as they take longer to load, and I am never interested in any of them.

I don't see them either.
I installed addblock years ago due to the poor quality of the adds.
Advertisements are key to the Internet, sane as tv.
Unlike tv, Web adverts aren't legislated, so they are mostly seven shades of s... silly nonsensical scams.
That is actually one of the stated goals of addblock, to force responsible advertisements.
They have an exemption tool for sites so you dont punish the good ones.
The biggest problem is most people don't deal with the company's anymore, they deal with the agency's who source advertisements. If those company's were more responsible this wouldn't even be a major issue.

I used to click on ROBLOX ads to support them. So stupid. But then I installed AdBlock then realized that ROBLOX is boring. Yup. But I think I have only clicked on one other ad, and that was when I was "the 1,000,000th visitor" and won "a free laptop!" But it asked me to download something and I clicked cancel because I was so young I didn't know what to do.

I might have when I was a lot younger, but I truly find them to be irritating as they're usually related to some fraudulent operation that I have no interest in. That's why I keep AdBlock on for most websites I visit. I guess that ad banners do the opposite effect of their intention.

I dont click ads anymore, but if I do it would be by mistake.
I'm assuming the ads that get the most clicks would be a "click here to download" ad or a weight loss add.

Of course i don't. Largely because i have ad block installed. Even without ad block, i find ads to be more annoying than interesting, and i never take pleasure in seeing their repetitive graphics flash millions of times.

I don't except when I misclick.

I think most of us have gotten used to ignoring them, just because they're so prevalent.

I'm pretty sure they target the elderly and technology newbies. In other words, those who can be lured by false promises of free smilies.

I sometimes click one by accident, because I'm on a download site and it's a big "Download" button that I mistook for the actual download button. Other than that, I don't because (1) I have Adblock and (2) Most of them are malicious. Even ones for well known companies can be malicious sometimes. There was a Netflix ad being shown at some sites that asked for and stole your account information with a fake site.

No since i'm usually not really interested and it's often some sort of scam anyways. Not to mention I use adblock on 90% of sites now anyways so I don't encounter very many ads anyways.

I've clicked on a few advert-articles before, and maybe one or two video ads that I was interested in, but other then those, I never click them.

I never want to click them intentionally but apparently I click on them sometimes by accident. Most of them are scams and take up some of cache in smart phones.

I click them, as they just pop up. I don't mean to, as they normally don't relate to me, and just slow everything down. People who think it's interesting, or are just stupid, click on them. That's how they do it.

thenumberone, I'm completely with you on the not clicking ads and believing they all lead to spam. I've also never known anyone that clicks on them.  I tend to also fear that they will result in viruses on my computer.  I guess ideally... it's a good place for advertisement since so much of the world spends its time online.. but I never imagined it'd be effective.

I have, a couple times, but they're extremely different types of ads. I have ad-block, but I always turn it off for sites I actually want to support--provided those sites don't go overboard with advertising like some whose names I won't mention. Mostly these are web comics or something of that nature, and go figure, the people who usually advertise on web comics are other web comics, or sometimes games. Typically, if a site has ads by Project Wonderful, they're safe to click, and I've actually followed through to other games and comics that I ended up loving.

But in general, no, I don't ever click ads, not even the big green DOWNLOAD NOW buttons because, come on, those are so obvious.
