When you are ready to sit down and start a building project, does it take you time to plan out what you want? or do you just for it? 
Do you like to have a detailed building, with decorations, different types of blocks, contrast/textures?
Or do you just like to make a quick easy house made out of wood or dirt and call it game?


Personally when I want to start building something, I like to plan out what exactly I'm building, the blocks I want to use, the space it's going to require, an estimated time length I think it will take. I love putting detail into my builds, sometimes it takes hours to just think about what I want, or to get the right blocks and required resources. I love to have some really good decoration, it's a feeling of being comfortable with your build, and a decent texture, I don't want to use all black blocks and then throw in something white, it would just take away from the feeling you originally want to use. So I really go all out. 

What's your opinion?

I usually get my ideas from what I'd like to call flashes of geniusness (I'm aware that's not a word). I might just get an idea randomly while building something else or get an idea for something I'm already building so basically I plan as I build it and it usually works well for me. My one weakness is that I'm so indecisive sometimes if I'm trying to decide between 2 different ideas or something like that which means it can take a lot of extra time to finish a build. I usually have a basic idea on what to build though so it's not like I'm completely clueless when building and I'm not going to be redoing the whole thing, just make changes when I get an idea.

It's almost always simple. Whenever I get a great idea, I usually only build about half of it before giving up due to faults in construction, or the fact that I just got bored. Seriously, this game is fun, but it bores me VERY easily.

I'm an elaborate builder, but I don't normally think through my entire plan in one sitting.

I tackle projects in small parts, trying to find the best-looking way to complete each. If I have the energy, I like to go back at previous projects and make sure that nothing looks off.

I do not have much of an inspiration, so I only build on my 360 when I get inspiration. Usually, what I do though, is get a mental image, and then just... go off of that. 

I think I'm that type of person who likes to add details to its work. It really depends of what I want to build though. When I make a dungeon, I use all kind of stuff that can add something to it, like cobwebs, cracked stone bricks, mossy cobblestone or mossy stone bricks. And sometimes, I give a second use to some stuff. For example, the stairs can become good vaults (refer to the project I'm doing in Megod).

Like to just build something like a really big house with a few beds and different rooms. I am not someone who builds things like towers or anything like that, or uses different blocks to build. I just like simple, and too much detail and it's kind of lame.

I'm sort of in between the two, but the thing is I usually build for function over design.

I usually build stuff in around 15 minutes, mostly it's a simple, but spacious structure which I build. I build for efficiency, not style.

I'm definitely a simple building. I don't have the creativity or know-how to build anything complex or amazing. In fact, when I'm playing Minecraft on my own, I always start with a simple hole in the ground and keep that for most of the time I'm playing. It's only when I have 5 billion of every resource that I start to build above ground.  When I get to that point, I build the most basic "here's an empty cube with a roof on top".  I've built a few things that were awesomely designed, but they weren't of my OWN design.  I watched some tutorials on youtube and followed them. XD

I always think in my head of what I want to build, and start building.
Everything except the basic idea is completely thought of on the spot. I'm not saying I'm an expert builder, but I've built some nice buildings. I once made a tree village, though that was with the help of a friend. Time is no problem for me, but I do want some progress done every time I have to stop.

I find that if you don't plan ahead, yet still built a great looking building, you can feel so proud of yourself.
The dirt cube is still a thing in many of my worlds though ;P

I build just random stuffs, or on Skyblock, I want to build a house, etc, I just go for it and do a house where I can live in it, I improve it over time and one day I have a good,beautiful house or I just abandon it.

It mostly depends on what kind of said thing I'm building, but mostly I am a simple builder. the reason why is that if I was a detailed builder, it'll take me like weeks to get complete with the hours I'm on the computer because of my hectic schedule going on.
Although I still make a couple complex builds in Minecraft like the Iggyland-Devil's Nightmare bridge on the Vizzed server, but I was home all day, so that wasn't much of a problem though.

Myself, I tend to start with a simple dirt house just for protection.  Just something to get me through those first few nights.  Once I become a little more resourcefully secure, I tend to scout out where I want to find a larger home, as which point I will typically either map something out myself, or find a blueprint that I can use as a guide when building.  With my new build site staked out, I'll build another little dirt home to use as a safe house/construction area while I begin work on my big project

To date, my more noteworthy projects include a full mid evil city, including farm land, castle, about 40 houses, windmills, harbor, and lighthouse.  An undersea city (Much more humble in scope.)  A scale replica of two different real life castles.  The Millennium Falcon.  And a half complete Corellean Corvette (The FarStar specifically.)

The kinds of projects I take on largely depend on my mood at the time.  I'll fire up my xbox 360 version of the game, obsess over a project for a couple of weeks, then put the game up again for a while until the mood to build strikes again.

well im actually both simply and detailed kind of builder. Usually in survival my house looks simple.......theres no time to put detail if your trying to survive.

When I build, I definitely prefer my builds to be aesthetically appealing. I want to look at my build and say 'dang, that's awesome'. We're given resources, might as well use them to create something awesome, right?

I build simple, even in Creative mode. Now and then I'll start a building project but it's rare because I'm a very lazy Pikachu.

I'm turning myself into a detailed builder. I've put hours into the game, but I am still learning how to build effectively. I have started to build, but I usually go back and rebuild after I finish.

The first building I make, is just four walls. I then begin to mine, get stone, I then annex onto and replace the dirt blocks. I have just found the Nether Brick, which looks really cool, I've been working on my new Fort which will be made out of Stone, and Nether Brick. I may change the color themes, but I think I'll just do a Glass Walled Chapel, a Lava Room (I'm fascinated with Lava walls, floors, and a roof.) and possible some other color rooms. 

I want to be a detailed builder, so I'm in the process of becoming one! That's an in-between answer, and I know it. At the moment, I'm a simple builder, but I have ideas, which I try out.

It does take me a lot of time to plan something out, buy I am very simple when it comes to building unless there's something that I really want to build, and maybe then I might go all out. Even when I built the Empire State Building on the vizzed server, I didn't bother actually filling it in, all I did was the outside.
