I think they can be very scary but it all depends on how they are presented. I have always seen the more scarier clowns in movies than the more kid friendly ones. To be honest I think I have seen more scary ones in person as well.

I am not afraid of clowns. I don't really like them, though. I don't find them funny at all. I consider them to be creepy, but not scary. I do have a few friends that are deathly afraid of clowns and I really do not get it.

I always hated clowns even when i was younger, never saw the point in most clowns since they were more of a nuisance then funny besides the fact they just look creepy. I guess it depends on the person if they are scary or not. I knew a few people who were scared of clowns.

I would  honestly like to see a happy-go-lucky clown and his clown family in some sort of sitcom perhaps then clowns can get the love or hatred they deserve.... "My dear husband..
