juuldude : I don't think that is a word, but it would be awesome if it was. Yeah the guy with the dupe thread took advantage of my Idea but I'm not so dumb. I also love platformers. Wario land 3 was also great but so far the first wario land is my favourite. i played that one on my gameboy player;.

My favorite would have to be rpg, mostly western ones though as Kingdom hearts is really the only jrpg I've really played and enjoyed so far, but my second favorite would have action adventure games. Third favorite would be stealth games even though I'm not that good at them, and I'm not talking about Assassin's Creed, I'd put that in action adventure, I'm talking about Metal Gear Solid and Dishonored. In AC when you get caught you can simply kill everyone with ease no matter how matter they send, but in Metal Gear Solid it's best to be stealthy cause if you get caught enemies will pursue you, send reinforcements, and kill you. MGS and AC both have alert system in their games, of course in MGS if they even see they go into high alert.

RPG's, hands DOWN. They're are just so open and varied. You have Final Fantasy on the one hand, and Pokemon on the other. Two completely different, yet great games. All three of those games are worth a try, no matter what your into.

It's hard to say, because there's something in pretty much every genre that puts me off a bit.
But I'd definitely say either 3D platformers or RPGs (Preferably JRPG or Turn Based).
I don't know what it is, but for some reason, the addition of an extra dimension makes me so much better at the game, even if some of my favourites tend to not have as fun of a story as I would like.
As for RPGs, I put this one on tentatively. I like RPGs, but my problem with most of them is that they take so long to pick up, that I don't finish most of them because I grow so bored. That's why I prefer Paper Mario and Okami. Paper Mario is a bit slow, but there's enough action and things happening that I can deal with it. As for Okami, it starts off as slow as any other RPG, BUT it gives you the option to skip cutscenes. If more RPGs allowed that, I would gladly love the genre again.

hard to think of ONE

I love fighting games, like mk and street fighter. (and smash, can forget smash.) but on the other hand, I love rpgs mainly because of pokemon. but I also love platformers.....

If you asked me about 2 years ago, I would say RPG games. But due to the fact that many of them follows the same repititive pattern (grind in the area, level up and buy equipment to be 10 times stronger, fight a boss that can't be affected by any stats and has 100 times your HP.....wonder why did you learn the spell "Poison" in the first place?), it's just....it goes like this...."Time equals power".
In fact, there was a time that I lost interest in them (at least not completely), that is until I found RPG series called "Wizardry", I felt that this series followed a different path (Spells and stats matters more than levels....although they do if you raised them crazily, enemies that have the same SPELLs and more attacks than you, equipment can only be obtained from drops....), it feels like a new genre to me somehow.
Anyway, back to the main question, my favorite would be platform games. Why? Because every platform game for me feels unique, each has a different way of playing it, and it has it's own difficulty. It's hard to come by two platform games that gives you the same experience.
My second favorite is RPG genre (I've already told you my story, there's no need to repeat it)
