I love french toast, pancakes and waffles. I think pancakes are my favourite of the three. I usually make them once or twice a week. Nothing beats homemade oatmeal pancakes with caramelized bananas.

I would go with pankets. Most especially the pankets daddy used to make on Saturdays. He would mix up the batter from scratch while boiling up fresh homemade syrup. Then when we kids were a yawning and a waking up he would scoop the first pankets onto the electric frying pan. The first ones always came off a little oilier than the rest so I waited until I could smell them for about ten minutes. Somehow I usually got stuck with the oily ones anyway but sometimes there were whiter, fluffier options. I was not one to stack them. I would spread them out, four to a plate. Mommy always said I put on too much syrup. I just didn't get the same flavour if they weren't saturated in the sweetness. Also, soggy pankets go down easier and feel better on your tongue.

That is all I have to say about pankets.

When I used to eat carbs, I loved pancakes, be it do drown them in MAPLE syrup or put brown sugar and butter like my father did. Otherwise Eggo waffles were rather plain, and I had never been fond of French bread. I always thought that it tasted bland.
