So I'm planning on buying a PS4 relatively soon, and I would like to start off with a non-violent title, as I'm not the only person around my place that plays games, but I probably am the only one that would have any interest in a game with any realistic violence in it. Also, I like games that are just light hearted fun sometimes.

I started out looking for something like a Platformer, but I'll settle for any game that's non-violent and not a sports title. To be clear, I'm wanting a PS4 title, but PS3 suggestions are also welcome. These can be games that are already out, or games that are still in development. I just want to know of some good clean games that will be waiting on me when I get the console. I'll get some more hardcore games later.


Guidlines for offering suggestions :
-Games cannot contain realistic or serious fantasy violence. If it has violence it should be light hearted and possibly tooney

-Games cannot be sports games. This includes racing games (with the exception of goofy racing games, like Mario Kart style stuff)

-Games cannot be tournament fighters

-I prefer light hearted and/or silly games for now, but this isn't a necessity.

That's about all that I can think of for now. Hopefully someone out there can think of something besides Rayman (the only one I know of).

By eliminating violence, and sports games, you eliminate pretty much everything of value.

Octodad: Deadliest Catch is something worth looking into, and that's about the only title I can think of off the top of my head. Any and all violence would be incredibly cartoony. Just watch a review of the game or something if you've never heard of it.

Crash Team racing comes to mind. Winnie the pooh also.

Why not give WipEout a try? I love it.
You could give PaRappa The Rapper a try, it's quite odd.
Devil Dice and Bombastic are cool action puzzle games that get frantic.
Another good puzzle game is Echocrome, which does take a little getting used to, but it really creative.
If you're going to limit to nonviolent, then you are going to miss out on amazing games like Ratchet and Clank which is in every way child friendly.

The Playstation systems generally have far more violent titles than their competitors so "Non-violent Sony titles" is almost an oxymoron. If you're looking for a system with the fewest violent titles, I'd go with a Wii-U or a 3DS if I were you. The Xbox 360 or Xbox One have violent titles too but not nearly as many as the Playstation 3 or Playstation 4, you can find a lot of family friendly games on the Xbox systems.

Overall, stick with Nintendo if you want to the most non violent video games.

Without trying to sound too mean.. there is nothing on the PS4 at all really, Especially any decent game that is not violent... 

Seriously all the so called "non violent" games i can think of are either sports games.. already mentioned or unavailable on a ps4.. e.g indie or classic games...

Maybe there's a version of tetris on the ps4

Tails the Fox : Are those PS3/PS4 titles? I remember titles by those names on the PSX, but I had no idea there were others if there are. I will look into them though.

Davideo7 : True, but I actually do enjoy those types of games, I was just hoping to grab a single family-friendly title, so I would have an alternative to buying a WiiU for a while. I've been following Sony since around 1997, and their more serious game selection is what made me like them so much better than Nintendo. But while I might enjoy slicing bad guys up with a blade, or shooting enemy spies, I don't think that would be the best kind of game for playing with my family (especially the three and four year old nephews). lol

sonicmcmuffin : Well, hopefully that changes by the time I get one. It will easily be a few months before I can spare that much money. And as I said, I only need a single game with no serious violence. After that I'll be anticipating Tom Clancy's "The Division".

Sony's market, like Microsoft's, is the "hardcore". As David said, if you want non-violence, a WiiU or 3DS would have been a better investment, as much as I like Sony products.

I tried very hard last night as I prepared for sleep to think about any other games that may have fit your needs, but honestly, I struggled. So I googled a list of upcoming games for the PS4.

Almost all of them look like they are "violent" games.

Well a lot of lego titles are good and I think the lego movie video game is not too violent and it is on ps4. I have not played it but almost all lego games are pretty good. It seems pretty cartoony as well. It is rated E10 though:
 
 

How about Need for Speed? I'm pretty sure there is a Need for Speed game for the PS4. Unless you consider that a sports game.

legacyme3 : Right. Yeah I normally fall into that caregory, but like I said, I don't want a game that's too violent with my nephews. Plus sometimes I like a break from the more hardcore stuff, but I'll probably get a WiiU for that eventually. I just can't afford to get both anytime soon, and the PS4 is easily my favorite of the new gen. Thanks for looking though.

tgags123 : Depends on whether it's just plain racing or not. I don't really enjoy racing games for long before I tire of them.

Do you just want Sony exclusives or are other titles allowed too?
For PS3: LittleBigPlanet 1 and 2, the first Jak & Daxter, and most Ratchet & Clank games (for mild/cartoon violence), Modnation Racers (cartoony racing game), Ni No Kuni, LocoRoco Cocoreccho, Katamari Forever, Journey, Portal 2, Kingdom Hearts HD 1.5 Remix, Puppeteer, possibly Jet Set Radio, Sega & All-Stars Racing Transformed (PS3).
For PS4: Doki Doki Universe, Flower, Resogun maybe, some Lego title probably, maybe Rayman Legends. Good luck with finding some for the PS4. The PS4 was released recently and you are pretty much out of luck with this one, unless you feel like moving into T territory, which might not be horrible, in some cases. 

all i can think of is Mega man and monster ranchers. i'll go for Monster rancher. its a non-violont (no blood that is) silly game where you can collect cards. 

The only non-violent game I've ever seen on a Sony system is Ecolibrium. It's a super boring game where you grow weird plants and breed weird monster-like animal things. I didn't get past the first level so I don't really know anything else about it.

GTA isn't violent. 

SilverHyruler : Then you've clearly never played a GTA game. Grabs Theft Auto is one of the most violent games out there (well of the games that have somewhat realistic scenarios and is based on what actually happens in some parts of the world). Saying that GTA isn't violent is one of the worst possible ways to describe GTA. It would be like calling Madden 25 a science fiction game. There's no way that it can be true.

SilverHyruler : Unless I'm mistaken there's a good amount of language in GTA, isn't there? If so, that would be worse than violence.
