There's rumors that have been going on for years on end. Dead Rising 2 even teased and toyed with us by putting a Megaman costume Easter egg in the game. But do you think Megaman will ever arise again?

Not likely as they did an April fools joke where they showed a upgraded X. It was taken down the next day. Not only do Capcom cancel games they cancel their own jokes too. I am not sure why they took it down but I am guessing they did it just in case people though they were making another game or something. Please correct me if I am wrong.

I highly doubt that Megaman will ever come back. The whole franchise has been dying off and Capcom doesn't seem to want to fix that. Such a shame too, it was an amazing franchise.

Altho the creator of Megaman has left Capcom, Capcom still owns the franchise. The creator left Capcom because Capcom wouldn't listen to his ideas about the franchise he created. On the bright side the creator of Megaman has left Capcom and joined Inafuege and they are making a game that looks and feels exactly like a Megaman game (it is basically the new Megaman) and that game is Called Mighty No. 9.

Well Mega man X, Zero, Tron bonne, Vile and Servbots appeared in Project X Zone. And Project X Zone was released in 2013, and Nintendo has Mega man in Super Smash Bros for the 3DS and WiiU so I guess so.

It is very unlikely, but you can still be hopeful, if you want. I personally can't see it making a comeback, it just is not likely to happen. At least it has had a good run. There have been many different Megaman games across many platforms, and we should be glad we got those games. Some game series do not even make it past the first game, and if they do, people often end up losing interest, and the game series dies off. It is a sad existence for games. Luckily though, as has been mentioned before, Keiji Inafune has Mighty No. 9 in the works, and that game seems promising, and is also likely the only thing akin to Megaman that we will be seeing.
